Exclusive: Actress, writer, director and producer Maya Erskine has signed with WME for representation.
Erskine stars opposite Donald Glover in Prime Video’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which premieres Feb. 2. Written and created by Glover and Francesca Sloane, the series, a complete reimagining of the 2005 film, is getting strong reviews.
Previously, Erskine co-created and co-starred in the Emmy-nominated series PEN15, which ran for two seasons on Hulu. During its first season, the series won the 2019 Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series and Erskine, along with co-creator and co-lead Anna Konkle, was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. The duo also received WGA Award nominations for New Series and Comedy Series and a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Comedy Series. Michelle Visage (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) and Sarah Cooper (“Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine”) are among the new cast members added to comedian Michelle Buteau’s upcoming Netflix series “Survival of the Thickest.”
Visage will play Avery in the comedy, which has been picked up for eight episodes, while Cooper will play Sydney. Also added to the cast are Anthony Michael Lopez as Bruce, Liza Treyger as Jade and Allan K. Washington as Trent.
Besides Buteau, previously announced cast members include Tone Bell, Tasha Smith, Garcelle Beauvais, Anissa Felix, Taylor Selé, and Marouane Zotti.

Rebecca Addelman wrote the screenplay and makes her directorial debut on the story about young newlyweds who question their marriage.
Production is scheduled to move to Los Angeles at the end of November on Paper Year, which also stars Andie MacDowell and Hamish Linklater. Pacific Northwest Pictures will handle Canadian theatrical distribution.
