Kate Webb was born in 1943 in Christchurch, New Zealand. She was a writer, known for On the Other Side and Reporter vermisst (2003). She died on 13 May 2007 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Renowned as a reporter covering wars and conflicts in Asia, beginning
with the Vietnam war in 1967. In 1971 she and five colleagues were
captured by the North Vietnamese in Cambodia and held captive for 23
days before being released.
