Dear Readers,
Tonight brings an end to the 2010-2011 awards season, which has easily been the most exciting, exhausting, and gratifying of the 10 that I’ve covered.
It led me to the Tribeca Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival… to the Gotham Independent Film Awards, the Critics Choice Movie Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards… to moderate Q&As that sandwiched me between some awe-inspiring duos (from Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek to Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale to Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis); and to interview roughly 50 remarkable talents (spanning the spectrum from Claire Bloom to Janet Jackson to Justin Timberlake to the Coen brothers to Aaron Sorkin). None of this, however, would have been possible without the kindness and support of a lot of other people.
Like Oscar winners, Oscar bloggers would be terribly remiss...

Matt Damon surprised his PR rep, Jennifer Allen, last night at the annual Icg Publicist Awards in La's Beverly Hilton hotel. He managed to look as handsome as always even in his pajamas, and Jennifer looked truly surprised that the actor turned out to help honor her with the Les Mason Lifetime Achievement Award. Matt, whose hair is currently longer than usual as he works on We Bought a Zoo, is the latest A-Lister to attend the industry ceremony - George Clooney made a special cameo last year to honor his longtime representative Stan Rosenfield. It's been a busy award season for Matt as he makes the rounds supporting True Grit and promoting his soon-to-be released movie The Adjustment Bureau, and hopefully we'll see him having another iconic moment on the red carpet tomorrow! We'll be live from the red carpet tomorrow, so watch here on PopSugar, follow us on...

An impostor pretending to represent Matt Damon caused chaos at Gwen Stefani's New York Fashion Week show by demanding front row seats for the actor and his wife at the last minute - even though the couple was in Los Angeles.
A man known as Jay Berman, who claimed to be the star's main point of contact in the Big Apple, is alleged to have reached out to representatives at Stefani's agency the Schiff Company last week and requested highly-coveted tickets to the pop star's L.A.M.B. show on Thursday, February 17.
Fashion show organizers were forced to rapidly rework the seating plan to accommodate Berman's late request, which was believed to have been made for Damon, his wife Luciana Barroso and a pal named Peter Gianquinto. But event bosses and photographers were left baffled when the Damons failed to show - leaving two security guards to fill...

Damon's longterm publicist, Jennifer Allen, has distanced the Hollywood star from the controversy - insisting the actor, who has never shown an interest in fashion week events, has been busy filming in Los Angeles since last Tuesday.
She tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "He's never been to a fashion show, to my knowledge. No one called me to check."...

“Grey’s Anatomy” isn’t the only thing Katherine Heigl has left behind for a film career.
Heigl, I am told, has left her long time publicist Melissa Kates and returned to the firm that Kates ankled some months ago: Pmk-bnc.
Heigl is preparing for the release of two films later this year and early next: “Killers” directed by Robert Luketic, and “Life as We Know It” directed by Greg Berlanti. The actress went with Kates when the publicist split from Pmk to join colleague Jennifer Allen in their new firm.

Jennifer Allen and Melissa Kates, two of the prominent publicists who left Pmk/Hbh during its merge with Bnc, have named their new PR launch Viewpoint, Inc. The pair opened offices earlier this month in La and New York for clients including Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Shia Labeouf, Chris Pine, Katherine Heigl, Kevin James and Christian Bale. Allen had been a managing partner and Kates was senior vice president and head of the Pmk/Hbh talent department. They told Mike Fleming that they"ll carry on with the old Pmk business philosophies learned during a combined 33 years at the PR powerhouse.

It looks like there will be another "Grey's Anatomy" star who is busy nursing a baby. After her co-star Katherine Heigl adopted a Korean girl, Ellen Pompeo has also become a mother. The actress and her husband Chris Ivery have welcomed their daughter on Tuesday, September 15 in Los Angeles, her representative confirmed to E! Online.
The newborn baby is named Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery. It was reported that the little girl and her mother Ellen are doing fine. Stella is the first child for the 39-year-old beauty and music producer Chris, who tied the knot in November 2007.
News that Ellen Pompeo was expecting a baby with Chris Ivery emerged in April. At that time, her representative Jennifer Allen told People the pair was "ecstatic" about their upcoming first child, but she did not mention how long the star had been pregnant with the baby. Then, in the same month, she...
