Stars like Katie Holmes, Alan Cumming, and Rose Byrne are all joining Broadway’s best talent in supporting the Roundabout Theatre Company!
The three stars – who have all starred on Broadway themselves – stepped out for the 2024 Roundabout Theatre Company Gala on Monday night (March 4) at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
The event honored director Kenny Leon with the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre and The Rudin Family with the Ovation Award for Excellence in Philanthropy. These awards are given to those who have made an indelible impact on both theatre and Roundabout.
Oscar winner Ariana DeBose gave a special concert performance at the gala.

Actors’ Equity Association pulled back the curtain on its 2022 officer and councilor election results tonight.
Wydetta Carter was re-elected 1st Vice President, representing principal actors. Al Bundonis was voted 2nd Vice President, representing chorus actors, Erin Maureen Koster was elected 3rd Vice President, representing stage managers — both running opposed. Sandra Karas was re-elected Secretary/Treasurer.
More than 40 council seats were filled, effective immediately, across all three regions and representing four categories: principal actor, chorus actor, stage manager and at-large.

Producers Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, alongside Broadway superstar Audra McDonald, director Schele Williams, and Broadway Inspirational Voices’ Joseph Joubert and Michael McElroy, announced today that they have released a very special recording and music video of the beloved song “Georgia On My Mind” to mark the first day of voting for the January 5th Georgia Senate runoff elections.
The song, which premiered during Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight organization’s “Rock The Runoff” Virtual Concert, will help to raise funds and awareness for Fair Fight’s work to ensure that every eligible Georgian has the resources and information they need to vote in the January 5th runoff election.

Actors’ Equity members have re-elected Kate Shindle to a second term as president of the union that reps moire than 50,000 professional stage actors and stage managers. She was running unopposed, as were several other officers chosen in the 2018 National Council election.
Shindle, who was Miss America 1998, beat incumbent president Nick Wyman in the 2015 election. There was an unprecedented number of seats up for grabs across all three regions in the 105-year-old group, and all 55 were filled, effective immediately.
The other officers elected without opposition were 3rd Vice President Ira Mont, Secretary/Treasurer Sandra Karas, Central Regional Vice President Dev Kennedy and Western Regional Vice President Doug Carfrae.
Among those facing challengers, Melissa Robinette was elected 1st Vice President (Principal), Jennifer Cody was elected 2nd Vice President (Chorus) and Sid Solomon was elected Eastern Regional Vice President.

If acting is a tough business, it can be even tougher for African-American performers. But at Actors’ Equity Association’s panel “African American Actors on Broadway: Life, Work and Inspiration,” four artists—Montego Glover (“Memphis”), Michael Potts (“The Book of Mormon”), Marva Hicks (“Motown: The Musical”), and Alton Fitzgerald White (“The Lion King”)—joined moderator Allyson Tucker to talk about career advice and the future of Broadway. “Go in prepared,” Hicks advised. For the actor, who’s worked with Michael Jackson and Lena Horne in addition to her stage credits, nothing substitutes preparation.
