Madonna doesn't care what us mere mortals think, and who could blame her? Forget Queen Esther; Madonna was Queen of Dragons for Purim! You can't shush her during a movie! So why would terrible reviews stop her from directing another movie? They won't!
The book that's luring Madonna back to the director's chair is a politically charged love story by Rebecca Walker, "Adé: A Love Story." Walker, who is the daughter of Alice Walker and Mel Leventhal, has previously written non-fiction about feminism, sexuality, being multiracial and Jewish, and her painful, contentious relationship with her Pulitzer Prize-winning mother. "Adé" is a semi-autobiographical novella about a bisexual woman who, while traveling abroad with a friend, falls in love with a Swahili Muslim man named Adé. Their love affair, which takes place on an island off the coast of Kenya, is interrupted by political upheaval and much more.

This time, the Material Girl will work from an adaptation of the novel “Adé: A Love Story” by Rebecca Walker, and the story sounds remarkable.
Walker’s book chronicles a young college student who falls in love with a Swahili man. They plan to get married and move to Kenya for a low-key life.
However, when a civil war erupts, everything is put in jeopardy and they must fight against all odds to stay together.

When Madonna unveiled her second directorial effort "W.E." at the Venice Film Festival in 2011, the critics (this one included) were pretty merciless. That glossy mashup of Wallis Simpson biopic and contemporary Harlequin romance was, admittedly, a pretty easy target -- The Weinstein Company's advance hype didn't fool anybody -- but the sheer vapid ineptitude of its storytelling still managed to surprise. Andrea Riseborough received some good notices for work as Simpson, Arianna Phillips' super-glam costumes were Oscar-nominated and Madge's own theme song even scooped a Golden Globe, but after this and her little-seen debut "Filth and Wisdom," no one seemed to be begging the pop queen to return to the director's chair. But hey, Madonna has never in her entire career been cowed by criticism, and she's not about to start now. It was announced earlier today that she is to direct her third feature "Adé" -- an adaptation of...

The directorial career of Madonna Louise Ciccone, aka Madonna, hasn't lacked on ambition. She made her debut on the grimy "Filth & Wisdom" before doing a 180 and helming the period romance "W.E." Unfortunately, neither effort particularly tracked well with audiences or critics, but that won't stop Madge. She's preparing to get behind the camera, and frankly, it's a welcome career move if only to keep her from posting more selfies to Instagram. Anyway, THR reports that Madonna is slated to direct an adaptation of "Adé," the debut novel by Rebecca Walker, the daughter of famed author Alice Walker. And you might not be shocked to learn that this one features sex, religion, feminism, lesbianism and more in the mix of themes, so it's right up Madonna's alley of hot button topics she tends to gravitate towards. Here's the Amazon synopsis: When Farida, a sophisticated college student, falls in love with Adé,...

An Italian stallion and a brunette bombshell are the latest recruits to 'Geordie Shore'. Ricci Guarnaccio, a 25-year-old salon owner, and 18-year-old receptionist Rebecca Walker look set to ruffle a few feathers among existing cast members Holly Hagan, Jay Gardner, James Tindale, Sophie Kasaei, Vicky Pattison, Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle during the second season of the MTV reality show. Branding himself the "King of Newcastle", Ricci claims he can bed any girl he sets his eye on, which won't go down too well with Gaz, who appointed himself as the house's resident stud during the first series of 'Geordie Shore'. HollywoodNews.com: There was a time, and it doesn’t seem like that long ago, that ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” was my favorite show on the air. I was so enamored with gay lawyer Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys) and watching his relationship then marriage to Scotty (Luke Macfarlane).
Plus, Scotty is such a hottie!
I love how the show has always treated Kevin and Scotty pretty much like any other couple on the show.
They are, in fact, the most stable couple in the Walker family.
But we don’t see enough of them for my liking as much more screen time has always been given to Justin’s dramas, Nora’s meddling, Sarah’s love life and work headaches, Holly’s business schemes, and Kitty’s problem of the week (cancer, marital woes, sentate race and now widowhood).
And so much drama surrounding Ohai Foods and whatever secrets (mistresses?...

Brothers & Sisters executive producer David Marshall Grant has dismissed rumours that the ABC drama is to end after the next season. ABC recently renewed the show but ordered 18 episodes instead of the normal 22. The series has also been hit by cast departures, with both Rob Lowe (Robert McCallister) and Emily VanCamp (Rebecca Walker) leaving the programme. However, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Grant denied that the show is reaching an end. "No-one has told me that it’s the last season," he said. "I don’t want to [think of it as the final season]. It’s sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy." The new season of the show will leap forward in time, catching up with the Walker family a year after the dramatic events of the fourth season finale.
