Michelle Francis(I)

Michelle Francis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Drama Studies from
Edith Cowan University in 2003 and has been an independent film and
theatre practitioner in Perth for many years. She has played lead roles
in several successful shows at The Blue Room theatre including Pasty
and Art's Desire, and was Assistant Director for the sold out season at
The Blue Room of The Speechwriter, which satirized the Howard
government in the lead up to the Rudd federal election at the end of
2007. Michelle was a core member of Storydoor Theatre between 2000-05,
devising and performing several physical theatre productions with
seasons at The Blue Room, the Velvet Lounge and PICA. Michelle has
starred in several short films that have screened at a number of
international film festivals in Calgary, Pennsylvania, Washington DC,
California and London throughout 2008. She plays the lead role in the
short film Mockingbird by Scott Eathorne, which has been nominated for
Best Screen Play at this year's Western Australian Screen Awards.
Michelle's next project is to play the role of Emma in Hook in Eye's
production of DC Moore's Alaska at The Blue Room studio for a season in
June 2009.
