Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, Iko Uwais, John Malkovich, Sam Medina | Written by Lea Carpenter | Directed by Peter Berg
Remember Sabotage, David Ayer’s dodgy DEA task force action thriller from 2014? Probably not, but Peter Berg’s fourth collaboration with muse Mark Wahlberg may jog your memory, with its similarly diverse elite squad (a good thing) and its videogamey attitude to plotting, human beings and basic logic (all bad things). This is perfect vehicle for Berg and his ultra-conservative, cynical and ultimately juvenile worldview. Yet somehow this technically talented director has fudged what should have been a straightforward idiotic pleasure.
Mile 22 opens with a gripping scene involving a raid on an Fsb house. The Fsb – *checks Wikipedia* – is the successor to the Russian Kgb, and they’re doing something nefarious, so Jimmy (Wahlberg) and his squad trick their way in and start gathering evidence. It all kicks off, and we...

Recently DaniElle DeLaite sat down to talk with the cast about their new movie Mile 22, which reunites star Mark Wahlberg with his Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day director Peter Berg.
Joining Wahlberg in the cast is The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan, WWE’s Rowdy Ronda Rousey, John Malkovich, The Raid’s Iko Uwais, Poorna Jagannathan, Lauren Mary Kim, Sam Medina, Alexandra Vino and Nikolai Nikolaeff.
They cover how all their fighting styles differ to create such an awesome action movie, and how, unusually for an action film, the women are just as involved as the men.
Mile 22 is released in the UK on the 19th of September, 2018 and in the Us on the 17th of August.
Mile 22 Cast Interviews
Plot:
In a visceral modern thriller from the director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least-understood unit.

Primed to harsh any buzz you might still be enjoying from the exhilarating international spy high jinks of “Mission Impossible: Fallout,” Peter Berg’s “Mile 22” is an angry, hyperviolent downer of an action flick that is the August blowout-sale of its ilk: loud and desperate.
Mixing obnoxious geopolitical cynicism, fashionable fight incoherence and — still? really? — the fading appeal of Mark Wahlberg in grim-hero mode, the movie feels like Berg in a state of retaliatory cinematic aggression after the lackluster showing of his recent real-life-bravery tales, “Deepwater Horizon” and “Patriots Day.”
The fictional “Mile 22” — another secret-ops saga about last-resort warriors, albeit with none of the escapist appeal of the “Mission: Impossible” movies — is the movie equivalent of being shouted at by your drunk ex-Army dad about how stupid and pointless your taste in popcorn fare is, and why can’t there be more bloody combat scenes with foreigners?

Directors James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez have teamed up for what looks like to be a fantastical and wild film in Alita: Battle Angel. While people are still dealing with their San Diego Comic-con hangover from this past weekend, 20th Century Fox releases an all-new trailer for the film which is based off of the popular Manga series “Gunnm.”
The trailer looks absolutely insane. It has a blend of great looking live-action stunts and heavy use of CGI which looks amazing at times, and at other times looks a bit too much like a video game. But while we are on the subject of CGI, the film has already seen its share of controversy. When the film’s first teaser came out, fans of the Manga series were none too pleased when 20th Century Fox decided to cast a non-Asian actress in the main role but rather casted a Canadian-American...

One year after the events of Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kurt Sloan has vowed never to return to Thailand. But while he is preparing for an Mma title shot, he is drugged and wakes up in a Thai prison. His captors want him to face a colossus named Mongkut – in return, Sloan will get $2million dollars and his freedom. If he doesn’t fight, his wife will die. So Sloan has no other choice but to undergo his most rigorous training yet, under some very unexpected mentors, in order to take on this dreaded opponent.
Given the affable reception afforded the previous film, a loose remake of the 1989 original, it comes as no surprise that a sequel was in order.

"The strongest man doesn't always win, but the smartest one does."
The first trailer has been released for Kickboxer: Retaliation, which is a sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance. If you enjoy these kinds of low-budget action films, this one actually looks like it might be worth checking out. If you don't enjoy these kinds of movies, then it's probably not going to look very good to you. It features Mike Tyson and Jean-Claude Van Damme training a fighter, who is forced to battle a 6'8" 400 lbs monster. Here's the synopsis:
One year after the events of Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kurt Sloan has vowed never to return to Thailand. However, while gearing up for a Mma title shot, he finds himself sedated and forced back into Thailand, this time in prison. He is there because the ones responsible want him to face a 6'8" 400 lbs. beast named Mongkut and in return for the fight,...

"The strongest man doesn't always win, but the smartest one does." Well Go USA has released the official trailer for the action film Kickboxer: Retaliation, which is the sequel to the Kickboxer remake film titled Kickboxer: Vengeance from 2016. Wait - did anyone even see Kickboxer: Vengeance? I recall watching the trailer for it, but I don't recall anyone seeing it or saying much about it, but maybe I forgot. Was it actually good enough to warrant a sequel? Either way, the sequel is done and is in theaters this month. Kickboxer: Retaliation has another fairly impressive cast: Alain Moussi, Christopher Lambert, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sara Malakul Lane, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Sam Medina, and Mike Tyson. I wish this looked like something I would want to watch, because even the big fights don't seem that good. See below. Here's the first official trailer for Dimitri Logothetis' Kickboxer: Retaliation, direct from...

A remake of the film that turned Jean Claude Van Damme into an action-movie megastar, Kickboxer: Vengeance retreads the story of the brothers Sloan – the only difference here is that the the stakes are higher, the action is more brutal (the glass-on-gloves fight is certainly a Lot more bloody than in the original film) and this time round the bad guy is former WWE man-beast turned actor Dave Bautista and the Muay Thai expert that trains Kurt Sloan to face Tong Po is Van Damme!
For those unfamiliar with the plot, Kickboxer: Vengeance tells the story of Kurt Sloan, younger brother to medal-winning martial artist Eric Sloan. The younger of the two, Kurt has...

As a movie reviewer there’s nothing more difficult than reviewing an average movie. With terrible movies you can spew forth all the bile and hatred you want, with good (or great) movies you can rave over each an every aspect that got you excited. But with an average movie there’s very often little to say beyond “it’s Ok” – and that’s what Tracers is, just Ok.
Down on his luck Cam (Taylor Lautner) is barely scraping by. Drowning in debt and living out of a garage, he is desperately looking for an out. Cam’s prayers are seemingly answered when he meets the beautiful and mysterious Nikki (Marie Avgeropoulos). She...
