"The question is: how are you still alive?" Samuel Goldwyn Films has released an official trailer for an indie film titled Lazarus, another indie superhero flick about a man who gains special powers. "A super powered vigilante fights an organization to free a city from darkness." From filmmaker R.L. Scott and actor Sean Riggs, who also produced this. A man is killed, but his death is a brief affair. Upon regaining consciousness, he discovers he has been gifted with extraordinary powers that allow him to super-heroically fight the organization responsible for plunging his city into darkness. Sean Riggs stars as Lazarus, joined by Costas Mandylor, Shane Brolly, Nicki Micheaux, and Mya. This looks like it has some badass action scenes, and I really dig the red eyes when he has powers. But is there anything more than just that? Kick some ass. Here's the new official trailer (+ poster) for R.

I love martial arts movies, be they big or small. And while director R.L. Scott’s 2010 action flick “Champion Road: Arena” looks like it dwells on the cheaper end of the cinematic spectrum — the budget is estimated at around $150,000 — the fights look tense and well-choreographed. When all is said and done, isn’t that the only thing that really matters? Maverick Entertainment is bringing the sequel to Scott’s 2008 effort “Champion Road” to DVD this June, allowing us to see if the final product is as engaging as the trailer promoting it. As always, here’s a plot description to help flesh things out: John, Abel and a few new fighters compete in “The Supreme fighting Arena”. a competition where fighters face one another in a contest to the death. Jupiter, Neesa, Kyo, Conner as well as many new enemies appear and the final battle for control over the city begins.
