The Lost Episode
Stars: Haylie Duff, Beverley Mitchell, Michael Rooker, Amanda Dunn, J. Larose, Jimmy Palumbo, Michael McKiddy | Written by Joe Nelms, Sue Bailey, John Cody Fasano | Directed by Michael Rooker
I’m not sure how many times I’ve had to type a review about a horror based in an abandoned asylum where a film crew were making a show but mysteriously disappeared but yes, I’m typing it again. It’s typical that this one would appear with the very apt name of… The Lost Episode (aka Pennhurst if you want to use its original title). Directed and starring Michael Rooker this of course gets the attention of horror fans, but can this film get survive the curse of the asylum horrors not named Session 9?
When a mother turns up at an abandoned asylum looking for her missing son a security guard agrees to search for him,...

As promised, we're back with Part Two of our recent chat with Dread Central favorite Michael Rooker (click here to check out Part One, which is mostly about "The Walking Dead" and his character Merle). This time Rooker provides us with details on his directorial debut, Pennhurst.
Dread Central: Not to change the subject Too abruptly, as we All love talking about Merle and "The Walking Dead", but I’m curious about your latest project, Pennhurst, and how you came to be sitting in the director’s chair. For those not already in the know about Pennhurst, here is one of the synopses:
For decades Pennhurst psychiatric hospital has been haunted by turbulent supernatural forces. When a local TV reality show embarks on a mission to capture this paranormal activity, they discover something completely unexpected. As restless souls from the past torment the crew members, they fear for their lives...

This is a story which came out earlier this weekend on an independent production called Pennhurst; it is worth repeating. Michael Rooker (Atlantis Down) will direct his first feature while starring with Beverley Mitchell (Saw II) and Haylie Duff ("Fear Island"). The film has been budgeted at 100K, with Primary Pictures anchoring the project. The film is in the early stages, but a concept poster can be seen left along with an official website below (Bloody Disgusting).
The synopsis for Pennhurst:
"For decades, Pennhurst psychiatric hospital has been haunted by turbulent supernatural forces. When a local TV show embarks on a mission to capture this paranormal activity, they discover something completely unexpected. As restless souls from the past torment the crew members, they fear for their lives as one by one they are gruesomely murdered. In a surprising revelation, they discover something more terrifying than ghosts is responsible.
