Signed by the New York Giants as an amateur free agent in 1942 after leading his high school to the state title in 1939. 29-29 record and 72 games saved, with 167 Ks and a 5.02 ERA for the Giants (1947-1950). He never pitched again in the majors, and in 1951-1952 was used primarily in the Giants' outfield.
