Vern Yip confirmed to Access Atlanta that Hgtv has cancelled Hgtv Design Star. Yip said ratings were still good, so I’m guessing a bigger issue is that later seasons of the show never found a designer who matched the impact of David Bromstad.
Matt Smith says he’s already asking when Doctor Who will do a story featuring multiple Doctors, so he can return to the series. As long as they manage to keep these meetings of the Doctors from feeling commonplace, I’m all for it.
The Daily Beast declares that last week’s Modern Family wedding was a “landmark moment for marriage equality” for a variety of reasons. That includes Modern Family position as a mainstream hit, the fact that their wedding was a special episode but not a “very special” episode and that the couple involved were a regular characters with a prominent role every week.

Chris Diamantopoulos is joining the cast of Episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He’ll be in a season-long story arc as the new network head, who will probably will be key to explaining why Episodes is getting a third season. (That’s not a knock on Episodes, but it is getting tougher to explain why Pucks! continues to be in production.)
Chris Diamantopoulos
In frustrating news, TVLine says that time is running out for Happy Endings now that USA has passed on it. While Sony (who makes the show) continues to try to sell a fourth season to TBS, NBC (do they really want another Community at this point?), Amazon or Netflix). The cast’s contracts will expire in three weeks so they better hurry.
In case you were looking for it, Reddit users have re-edited the new episodes of Arrested Development to put the events in chronological order.

"America's Got Talent" is getting a hearty dose of Howard Stern for Season 7 (premiering Monday, May 14 at 8 p.m. Et on NBC) and host Nick Cannon and judge Howie Mandel welcomed the new dynamic.
"He's great man, it's like one big happy family," Cannon told The Huffington Post at the NBC upfronts about the show's new dynamic.
Stern joined the judges panel for Season 7 after Piers Morgan left to focus on his CNN talk show. But don't expect any shock jock antics. "'America's Got Talent' is a family show, and I have been disrespecting family values for years," Stern joked at a recent press conference. "I respect what 'Agt' is. It's a family show. I've been watching it for years ... it's a different form of entertainment ... I know the rules ... I'm 58 years old!"
Mandel said working with Stern is a mutually respectful friendship. "It's like summer camp, honestly.

Apologies (again this week!) for the lateness of this "America's Got Talent" recap. I was very sick this week and did not work for two days. But I did receive lots of emails asking about this, so I decided to post one, even if it is late. I'm rolling the performance/results into one, though.

They start with a guy balancing on a tower of chairs while some other members limbo under fire. The fire is Ok, but the chair tower is pretty impressive. They move on to a human tower with guys wrapped around the tower members, It's hard to explain, but it's cool. That was good, if not quite as exciting as they usually are. It seemed a little slower. But still - very good, and let's not forget their video package explaining how one off their members died doing a stunt. It's very dangerous.

What to watch on Tuesday, May 31.
Is it Friday yet? Haha no, it's only Tuesday. But have you ever noticed that four-day weeks are way longer than regular weeks? What is that about? Hopefully scientists will figure it out someday, but until then let's just watch a ton of junk:
Season 6 Premiere, 8pm, NBC
America's Got Talent
I agree with this title! While not every American is as "talented" as Prince Poppycock or as lovely as Susan Boyle, I think we can trust More >>...

You've already seen the Best & Worst Reality TV Moments of 2010. How is this different, you may ask?
Well -- moments and characters are not the same thing. For instance, an all-girl team finally winning "The Amazing Race" was awesome. But Nat and Kat weren't exactly "characters." They were good racers and are probably great doctors. But they weren't what makes reality TV fun -- crazy, polarizing characters.
That's what this list is for. So with no further ado, Zap2it presents our Best Reality TV Characters of 2010, in alphabetical order.
Simon Cowell: Simon took his Cowellness to a whole new level during his last season on the show. He had very clearly checked out this year, running out the clock until he could bolt for "The X Factor." It was delightful to watch his increasing boredom and frustration with a show that now succumbs to the whims of tween girl voters.

Welcome to The Gbu, a weekly column coming every Monday where I look at the Good, the Bad and the Ugly on TV.
December is a time to look back at the year that was in television, and I'm starting with reality TV. From Simon Cowell's American Idol swan song to Prince Poppycock on America's Got Talent to Derek Hough's back-to-back Mirror Ball trophies on Dancing with the Stars, there were a lot of huge events this year in the world of reality television.

We love Michael Grimm. We were pleased that he won America's Got Talent and were happy to hear that his Grandma will now get that house she so deserves. But we admit that a little bit of our hearts broke when Prince Poppycock did not take the grand prize.
We're suckers for a big theatrical presentation and Poppycock's was the biggest and most theatrical of all.
So we're happy to hear that the Prince lives on after Agt. Just last week the show's national tour kicked off in Oakland. Poppycock told his 56,000 Facebook fans that "The Paramount was a beautiful venue to start this tour! All my love to the Bay Area, you were beautiful tonight!"
If you're a true Poppy (as his diehard fans are called) you might want to check out the his latest creation—Poppycock masks. With these life-size works or art,...

After winning "America's Got Talent" Season 5 over Jackie Evancho, Fighting Gravity and Prince Poppycock, and proposing to his girlfriend on "Ellen," Michael Grimm has some more good news -- he is signing a record deal with Epic Records, reports E! Online.
Unlike "American Idol," which awards its contestants record deals when they win, "Agt" does not have that in place. The contestants instead get prize money and they used to headline a Las Vegas show, but now they simply headline an "Agt" tour.
That's great news for the talented singer who used to just be playing gigs in Mississippi. What do you think, "America's Got Talent" fans? Will you buy his album?

After winning the fifth season of "America's Got Talent", Michael Grimm has now won his lover's heart. Michael revealed his plans to wed Lucy and said that she was the inspiration for his final performance. During the show, which will be aired on Friday, September 17, Michael told Ellen DeGeneres, "She's been there for me. Once you find that good woman you hang on to her."
According to the site, Ellen asked Lucy, who was among the audience, to join them, with Michael later getting down on one knee to pop the question. And it turned out that Lucy was as happy as Michael as she said yes to the proposal.

Michael Grimm has described his win on America's Got Talent as "unbelievable". The 30-year-old from Mississippi scooped the $$1 million prize and chance to headline a Las Vegas show on Wednesday night's finale of the NBC competition. He was crowned the winner over 10-year-old opera star - and early favorite - Jackie Evancho, with performance art group Fighting Gravity taking third place and singer Prince Poppycock finishing in the fourth spot. "I still can't find words. This is unbelievable. If the smile on my face can describe it then this is what I feel!" he said in a video interview backstage posted on the show's official website. A brand new winner of "America's Got Talent" has finally been announced. On Wednesday night, September 15, Blues crooner from Mississippi, Michael Grimm, has been crowned the winner of the NBC's talent search show as he successfully bested over 10-year-old soprano singer Jackie Evancho who finished a second place.
For winning the variety competition, Michael is the recipient of the $1 million prize and has the chance to headline a show in Las Vegas. Upon learning he has been voted as the winner, the singer who is famous for his stingy-brimmed hat responded with smile and said in disbelief, "Is this really happening. Is this real?"
Michael, who described himself as "just a boy from Mississippi", has previously admitted that if he ever won the talent search show, he wanted to use some of the prize money to help his grandparents, who raised him and lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. The 30-year-old...

After the standard review of what happened last night, the four final acts are trotted out on stage for our review. But Then, Prince Poppycock performed a medley with Donna Summer and it was epic insanity.
I like to pretend that someone was just flipping through the channels and found this with no prior knowledge. They would either find it incredibly strange, or the best thing they'd ever seen (although if they were watching TV in Europe it would be just any other program.
