- Phil Laaveg is a seasoned writer and documentary story producer. He has worked on documentary series for HBO, Netflix, Hulu, Discovery, and numerous other networks. He studied video production at the Art Institute of Seattle, and despite the Art Institutes being a for-profit scam, he had the good fortune of studying under Lynn Shelton, the incredible director, who greatly inspired his love for filmmaking. He cut his teeth at Screaming Flea Productions in Seattle, Washington where he was able to work as associate producer, story producer, and post supervisor on a variety of series such as Three Sheets, Sell This House, and Hoarders. Phil moved to Los Angeles to pursue his screenwriting career, and began working as a story producer in the documentary sphere, working on Flint Town, Diagnosis, and Jailbirds for Netflix.
