A common, incredibly lazy complaint among some writers and designers is that because he's so wildly overpowered, Superman is nigh impossible to craft compelling encounters and stories for. Well, shuttered developer Factor 5 (Star Wars: Rogue Squadron) was giving it the old college try on the PS3 and 360 before the game was cancelled back in 2008 after the collapse of Brash Entertainment with whom Factor 5 had several open contracts.*
Well, where there was a Superman game in active development, there have to have been assets and axiomatically, former Factor 5 character designer Daveed Kaplan** has released a few designs into the wild over on his site. Based on the images, Factor 5 was at least thinking about giving the Man of Steel a pretty beefy rogues gallery to face off against in their next gen game. The people over at Just Push Start have gotten their hands on some cool concept art from the canceled Superman game that the company Factor 5 was working on before they had to close their doors. The art is by artist Daveed Kaplan. The game was being developed under the code name "Blue Steel" and was heading for a 2008 release date.
