Josh Dove at Circle is handling their side of the partnership alongside Kyle Stroud and Frank Ponce at Carte Blanche and Joey Tuccio and Dorian Connelley at Roadmap Writers.
Carte Blanche will be greenlighting and fully financing at least one genre film. The script will have no more than five characters and five locations, and will focus on a contained, character-driven story. “Timecrimes,” “Buried,” “Monsters,” “Locke,” “Another Earth” and “Oxygen” serve as artistic inspiration.

Put away the collection plate, “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul” finally has a buyer. Focus Features, Peacock and Jordan Peele’s MonkeyPaw Productions have acquired worldwide rights to the megachurch satire starring Sterling K. Brown and Regina Hall. The deal was worth a reported $8.5 million.
The movie, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews, will debut in theaters and on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock later this year.
Adamma Ebo and Adanne Ebo, the filmmaking sibling duo known as the Ebo twins, wrote and directed “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul” in their feature film debut.
“We’re so unbelievably blessed and hyped to be partners with Focus and Monkeypaw on our first feature film,” they said in a statement. “Their commitment to our vision as filmmakers and bolstering the film as a whole is amazing and we cannot wait to bring it to the world with this team.

Exclusive: Carolina Groppa has joined Issa Rae’s ColorCreative Management and Hoorae Media in the new position of Executive in Charge of Production. She will report to ColorCreative president Talitha Watkins.
Groppa will oversee all aspects of production for ColorCreative and for select Hoorae Media projects from development through post-production. She will also serve as a working producer on select projects.
