- Growing up in the small town of Wheatland, California, Oscar had dreams of moving out to the big city of Hollywood. An interest in the film industry was evident in his high school years. He attended high school at the Academy for Career Education.
After high school, Oscar attended community college at Yuba College. There, he completed his first short film Stranger (2006), which garnered him the college's recognition of Best Achievement in Directing. After the semester ended, Oscar applied and was accepted at The Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood.
In March of 2008, Oscar graduated from The Los Angeles Film School.

- At the age of sixteen, he was hired for the State of California's Employment Development Department at the Yuba County One-Stop as a Youth Specialist, where he helped at-risk youth complete their educational and occupational goals. He worked there for nearly 2 years before moving to Hollywood.

Its mission is to take a leadership role in improving the quality of lives of Hispanics/Latinos in the community (ultimately the entire community) through educational enhancement, economical development and community involvement.
