Adam Brody is recalling a not-so-super part of starring in superhero franchise “Shazam!”
The “Fury of the Gods” star called the Dcu costumes “infantilizing” due to just how much effort it takes to put them on. “They’re very infantilizing because you can like do little for yourself, you need help all the time,” Brody told GQ UK. “Each one of us had a sort of pit crew to help get our bracelets on and get in and out of our gear.”
He continued, “You don’t feel naked, you’re bulky, you’re in a bunch of stuff, you know, it’s more like you’re going to the Met Ball or something.”
Yet “Fury of the Gods” was much easier to film than its 2018 predecessor. “For the first one we did, the suits were a lot bulkier and more uncomfortable. We were also in Toronto in the winter,...

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It at long last is scheduled to open in theaters and HBO Max on June 4, 2021.
The film reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return to star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, under the direction of Michael Chaves (“The Curse of La Llorona”). The film also stars Ruairi O’Connor (Starz’ “The Spanish Princess”), Sarah Catherine Hook (Hulu’s “Monsterland”) and Julian Hilliard (the series “Penny Dreadful: city of Angels” and “The Haunting of Hill House...

The Shazam movie costume is a new interpretation of a classic look. So how do they make it relevant for Dceu fans?
There’s one major challenge that faces DC superhero movies, and it is one that’s not quite as present for their competition: the costumes of their heroes. While most Marvel costumes can be explained away as functional extensions of their scientific, secret agent, or otherworldly professions, DC superhero costumes tend to be, well, superhero costumes. It’s a little tougher to find practical explanations for the fashion choices of Dceu headliners. After all, they’re often as traditional as they come, and some of them date back to the golden age of comics.
Man of Steel got around this by leaning hard into the idea of Superman’s costume as Kryptonian ceremonial wear, while Aquaman delivered a note-perfect translation of King Arthur’s orange and green garb,...

Mark Strong is Dr. Sivana in the Shazam movie. But he's not exactly who you think he is.
To understand Dr. Sivana, a character played by Mark Strong in the upcoming Shazam movie, it helps to have a little bit of a grasp on some ancient comic book history. The Shazam concept, was indisputably a response to Superman and the superhero boom that kicked off the golden age of comics. You swap a sci-fi origin for a magical one, you swap a whole lot of blue in the costume for a whole lot of red, and you’re still left with a super strong, flying, invulnerable, and caped hero. Hell, his very first comic (1939’s Whiz Comics #2) even featured him abusing an automobile, just like Superman did on the cover of 1938’s Action Comics #1.
Some might scratch the surface and point out that both heroes are menaced...

We all know that it’s not cheap to make the superhero movies that we are seeing today. A ton of money goes into to making these things, including the awesome costumes that we see the actors wear. You know that costume that Zachary Levi wears in Shazam!? Well, apparently each costume cost a million dollars to make!
Some of you might think that’s surprising, but I don’t think it is. A ton of work goes into the creation of these suits! Not only are there the physical suits that had to be made, there’s also the digital visual process it went through. It was explained by costume designer Leah Butler that there were 10 suits made for the film at $1 million dollars a pop.
While talking to TotalFilm, Butler talked about what went into creating the suit, saying:

With Aquaman crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office just a few days ago, it seems that Warner Bros. has a fair amount of money to throw around these days, and apparently they’re not shy about spending it, with Shazam! costume designer Leah Butler recently indicating that upwards of $10 million total was spent on Billy Batson’s ten suits.
The subject came up in an interview with Total Film, when Butler recalled how each outfit needed to be shaped to form a muscular build around actor Zachary Levi:
“The exterior suit is a spandex suit that goes over a musculature suit, and each muscle has been sculpted on the body of Zach, so it accents and highlights his shape and size.”
As you may have seen from the trailers, Shazam’s costume also includes a lightning bolt on the chest which lights up – a feature which...

Production is underway on New Line Cinema’s “Shazam!” David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs the origin story, which stars Zachary Levi (TV’s “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV’s “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Peter Safran (upcoming “Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) serves as the film’s producer.
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—Shazam!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them!

The latest entry into the Dceu, ‘Shazam!‘ has officially begun filming. Although Director David F. Sandberg tweeted some images from the set last week, it seems that New Line has confirmed the film has begun shooting with the release of an official synopsis and a full cast list for the film. This will be the first time that the character formerly known as Captain Marvel (it’s a complicated story) will get the big screen treatment.
In case you are unaware, ‘Shazam!‘ follows the character of Billy Batson, who upon saying the words “Shazam”, transforms himself into an adult superhero who has increased strength, the ability to fly, super speed, among other abilities. Zachary Levi (‘Chuck’) stars as the titular hero, while Asher Angel will play young Billy Batson. The evil doll who debuted in James Wan's The Conjuring, who managed to get a spin-off movie, has also managed to get a sequel. Today marks the start of principal photography for Annabelle 2 revealing the newcomers to the cast and who's behind the camera. Come inside to check it out!
I can't sit here and say Annabelle was a movie I really enjoyed. It had it's okay moments, but on the whole didn't live up to the fear factor laid out with The Conjuring. Instead it felt like a more subdued possession movie that lacked the charm of enjoyable characters. But it made money. As such, that means a sequel is on the way, which started filming today. Here's what this film is about:
