Rock group originally known as The Gleems, formed in La Grange, NC. In 1961 they changed their name to The Corsairs. Their biggest hit was "Smoky Places" (Tuff Records), which hit #10 on the R&B charts in 1962.
Members have included Jay Uzell, James Uzell, Moses Uzell, George Wooten (the Uzells were brothers, Wooten was their cousin).
