Golden Globe-winning actress Ali Wong’s recent makeup session didn’t go as planned. The actress poked a little fun at her latest makeup look in a new Instagram video.
The actress shared a selfie clip, filmed backstage before the opening night of her Los Angeles residency at The Wiltern. Wong said that her glam wasn’t quite what she expected, reports People magazine.
“I do my own makeup to save time and money,” she explained in the clip. “I forgot my eyebrow pencil, so I had to make do with this kinda reddish-brown eyeliner that I applied to my eyebrows.”
While talking to the camera, Wong leaned her face closer to show off her brows, which are a different colour from her dark hair.
As per People, the comedian found humour in the situation, adding: “I think it looks kinda crazy. I look like an X-Men villain.”

In 2024’s bizarre bid to become the year of the underwear, Kristen Stewart is the latest celeb to go pantsless. Since brief-focused looks debuted on runways last year, many stars have been spotted at fashion shows and red carpets sans trousers.
Most recently, Sydney Sweeney debuted bedazzled briefs at the Miu Miu presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Kiernan Shipka also wore underwear (cable knit with a matching cardigan) to the Chloé runway show. Now, Stewart has jumped on the trend, going pantless twice this March (so far). See her looks here:

Within 60 seconds of seeing Emily Blunt arrive on the Oscars 2024 red carpet, I thought: Those shoulder straps are going to be a problem.
Not for Blunt, of course, a best supporting actress nominee for Oppenheimer, who looked lovely in a nude beaded gown designed by Daniel Roseberry for the Spring Summer 2024 haute couture collection for Schiaparelli, the house founded by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927 and which has been overseen by Roseberry as artistic director since 2019.
But it was only a matter of time before social media would erupt with cries of confusion and frustration over the detail. After all, when we live in a world in which an indicted former U.S. President criticizes the host of the 96th Academy Awards in real time, it’s likely open season on one woman’s gown, yes?

A-list star stylist Tara Swennen — whose clients include Kristen Stewart, Ali Wong and Sarah Michelle Gellar — recently teamed with fashion nonprofit Remake on a three-month hiatus from shopping as a way to spotlight sustainability.
The June 1-Sept. 1 initiative aimed “to press pause on purchasing new clothing and take time to reflect on possible overconsumption — looking at your closet as a way to reduce your carbon footprint — reuse items, and support services like a tailor or secondhand shops.” Swennen passed with flying colors.
“I was able to absolutely not make one single purchase,” said the stylist. “It felt really good. The challenge itself allows space for just trying to think about how you purchase and what you purchase, whether it’s sustainable brands for yourself or as gifts, supporting vintage or secondhand businesses, and, of course, supporting up-cycling fashion brands of the world. I think three months for most people is very doable.

Kristen Stewart is wearing a high-contrast, black-and-white Chanel outfit from Karl Lagerfeld’s 2016/2017 Cruise Collection at tonight’s Met Gala.
To arrive at her choice, there was one thought that was paramount when the star and her stylist, Tara Swennen, began discussing what the actress would wear for the evening, which honors Karl Lagerfeld. Fashion’s biggest night takes place ahead of the May 5 opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
“The main baseline through all of this is that she and Karl had a very special relationship,” Swennen exclusively tells The Hollywood Reporter. “So the nature of where we began was making sure we honored that relationship, as well as the DNA of the brand.” (See all the best looks from 2023 Met Gala red carpet here.)

“It’s very difficult as a stylist to be entirely sustainable,” says London-based Karen Clarkson, whose clients include Lashana Lynch, Samantha Morton and Joey Richardson. “You can’t save the world by fashion styling. It’s about trying to incorporate little things we can be doing into our work.”
The stylist and creative director recently dressed Richardson in a vintage Catherine Walker power-shoulder gown, rather than in a new piece of clothing, for the premiere of Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Behind the scenes, Clarkson recycles, employs reusable garment bags, reuses foundation garments when possible and avoids disposable supplies like sticky lint rollers. Clarkson also pulls from her own vintage shop and archive, Found and Vision, plus scours Certified B-corp luxury resale site Vestiaire Collective — which as of Nov. 25 became the first global designer marketplace to ban fast fashion.

With daylight fading from the sky and lanterns floating on a private lake over his shoulder, Vacheron Constantin’s Alexander Schmiedt stepped up onto a dock that had been transformed into a mini stage, encased in lush green foliage with a giant movie screen as a backdrop.
Taking a microphone, the luxury Swiss watchmaker’s president of the Americas detailed designs for the evening. “Tonight, we celebrate The Anatomy of Beauty,” he said referencing the title of the Maison’s short film that was about to debut but also a concept that laid the blueprints for the evening soiree. “We always say that beauty is definitely subjective but there is a common objective element to it, and that is the fact that the beauty of the whole that we see, is only a summary of all the small details. Walmart is tapping into the glamour of the Oscars — and its nominees — in a new partnership with the academy that seeks to promote fashion’s connection and importance to the film industry.
Walmart is an official sponsor of the Oscars this year, and the company is launching a campaign during the Oscars telecast that features some of Hollywood’s biggest stylists curating looks for crew members who work behind the scenes in the industry. Allison Janney's award season style said it all: She was in it to win it. The I, Tonya star went home with the gold at Sunday night's Academy Awards, winning the Best Supporting Actress category. The Screen Actors Guild Awards were Sunday night, and stars embraced that red carpet’s typical M.O. – having freewheeling fun with fashion – to the fullest extent. After the red carpet blackout at the Golden Globes, where stars wore black outfits to make a statement about sexual harassment and assault in the workplace (and to draw attention to their Time’s Up legal defense fund), celebalirities and their stylists went in the opposite direction, embracing color, pattern and fun embellishment for a red carpet that was bold, bright and unforgettable.
