“This one is for all my geeks and comic book fans out there.”
Artist Adam Thompson has put his “sort of” minimalist illustration skills to some good use, crafting this ultimate Marvel/DC team-up. I don’t know what the Avengers and Justice League are looking at, but if it’s a villain… they picked the wrong party to crash.
If you’re now jonesing to see these two teams together on film, there is a very good Avengers Vs. Justice League fan-made trailer that we posted a few months ago that should tide you over… or just make you hungrier for this crossover to happen.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has been making waves in the music world with the progressive stylings of his band The Mars Volta since back in 2001, and now his latest film, Los Chidos, is doing the same in the film festival world after wildly dividing audiences during its recent SXSW premiere.
Los Chidos is Rodriguez-Lopez's violently bizarre spin on modern telenovelas that shocked many with its inclusion of thematic material including incest, cannibalism, jars filled with severed penises and a graphic scene involving a meal of feces. And for those who have experienced it, there's one thing you cannot deny- whether you love it or hate it, Rodriguez-Lopez successfully delivers a bold and provocative satire with his latest efforts that is unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to chat with the thought-provoking filmmaker about Los Chidos and heard more about how his family and the fairy tales...

By Linda Park SXSW Music 2012 just wrapped up; Linda Park writes for the SXSW Music Blog, “asking fun people goofy questions.” These are her picks from this year’s festival lineup. 1. We Were Promised Jetpacks, These Four Walls(2009) I have an almost unhealthy obsession with music made by Scottish people. (See also: Frightened Rabbit, Withered Hand, The Waterboys — I could go on) That aside, We Were Promised Jetpacks have a new album out called In the Pit of the Stomach, but I remain glued to These Four Walls. Just listen to the way "Conductor" builds, and how Adam Thompson's voice draws you in, sounding both impossibly distant [...]...

We Were Promised Jetpacks’ second album, In The Pit Of The Stomach, continues in the grand tradition of UK rockers following up sensational debut LPs with similar-sounding albums, only darker and louder. In 2009, These Four Walls propelled the band to the head of an already bright young class of Scottish acts, with its swift tempos, big guitar sound, and Adam Thompson’s attempts to record his impressions of life as it rushes by. In The Pit Of The Stomach opens with “Circles And Squares,” which from its lyrics about the patterns people follow to its dynamic sound—marked by ...
