Sublime with Rome have unveiled their latest EP, Tangerine Skies, featuring four sunshiney, new songs from the band. Stream it below.
Produced by the band’s Rome Ramirez, the tracks on Tangerine Skies capture the California ska sound that Sublime perfected three decades ago, with syncopated guitars, grooving beats, and strong vocal melodies. Lyrically, the songs allude to feelings of pain and confusion, but balance out the difficulties of life with its joys, ultimately landing on a message embracing peace and contentedness.
The title track conveys this perfectly, pairing a mid-tempo, acoustic guitar-led arrangement with lines like: “I learned to love the small things/ Had to learn to let it go/ Many rivers I have yet to cross/ But I know that I’m on the right road/ And I know I’m gonna get there.” Stream the EP and check out the music video for the title track below.

The Bonnaroo Music Festival, which runs for four days in Manchester Tenn., recently announced their 2014 lineup.
Headlining the 13th annual Bonnaroo will be Elton John, Kanye West, Jack White, Lionel Richie, Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, Phoenix, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Ocean and The Flaming Lips.
Also heading to the Great Stage Park this summer will be Neutral Milk Hotel, Wiz Khalifa, Cut Copy, The Head and the Heart, Lauryn Hill, Broken Bells, Ice Cube, Slightly Stoopid, Fitz and The Tantrums, Cake, Janelle Monae, Amos Lee and John Butler Trio.
West was a surprise choice for the festival, which hasn’t had the rapper in their lineup since 2008 when he walked onto the stage nearly two hours after his scheduled set time. Though he tried to blame Pearl Jam’s extended set, the crowd united in booing him.

The always epic Bonnaroo — a four-day music and camping festival on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tenn. — boasts some huge names this year. The festival’s thirteenth year, which goes down June 12-15, will mark the surprising return of West, whose headlining set in 2008 turned into a disaster when his Glow In The Dark-themed light show didn’t start until after sunrise. Ye posted an angry rant on his blog blaming Bonnaroo organizers, but it seems that all is now forgiven. This year will mark Elton John and Lionel Richie’s first ever appearance. Tickets go on sale Feb. 22 at noon Est. Here’s the full Bonnaroo lineup: Elton John Kanye West Jack White Lionel Richie Vampire Weekend...

Slightly Stoopid and 311 have both been touring for over 20 years, but with the energy from the crowd Friday night at the Charter One Pavilion on Northerly Island in Chicago, you would have no idea. The 2012 Unity Tour brought a fantastic vibe to the lakefront under a cloudless sky. If you are wondering if bands who have been performing so long have trouble keeping it fresh, the answer is - it depends. According to Miles Doughty of Slightly Stoopid, "When you do show up at each town, the vibe from the crowd is what creates your energy. The crazier the crowd, the crazier the band is. It’s still when you look out from the stage and you see everyone going nuts, whether they’re dancing, pitting, singing along, it’s like that’s what fuels the band’s fire." Chicago kept it crazy.

It's a question raised semi-annually, though this year may offer a different answer: Is Lauryn Hill going to make a comeback? The former Fugee and solo star has been tapped to headline the Harmony Festival out in Santa Rosa, Calif., on June 13 (sharing a headliner bill that includes Slightly Stoopid, no less) but was also named today as "special guest" on the 2010 Rock the Bells hip-hop tour. But what does that even mean? Wu-Tang Clan -- performing "Enter the 36 Chambers" in its entirety -- is the formal marquee act for the four city tour, which goes Aug. 21-22...

Santa Cruz, CA rockers The Expendables released their fifth album this week, "Prove It." Their second release on Slightly Stoopid's own Stoopid Records, "Prove It" is their first new album since 2007's self-titled effort.
The 17 new tracks were produced by Paul Leary, guitarist for Butthole Surfers, and El Hefe of Nofx, and feature guest spots from G. Love of G. Love and the Special Sauce and members of Slightly Stoopid.
"As producers, Leary and El Hefe brought a vibe to the studio as only two punk rock guitar legends could," the band said of the new album. "As musicians who really care about the music, we all connected and feel like we are bringing something new to the table, while still staying true to the sounds that make us who we are."

Christofer "C-Money" Welter was part of John Brown's Body for years and is currently the trumpet player and keyboardist for alterna-reggae rockers Slightly Stoopid. But now, the SoCal native is set to release his debut solo effort, "Family Business," which finds him collaborating with G. Love, Angelo Moore and Dre Gibson of Fishbone, and Kyle "Stoopid" McDonald of Slightly Stoopid, among others.
On the album, produced and co-written by Craig Welsch aka Top Rankin, C-Money leaves his harder-rocking day job behind to fuse sounds of hip-hop, jazz, and funk for a a fresh-sounding down-tempo mix of modern reggae. C-Money said he found himself wanting to create more new music whenever he was off the road, which, through live jam sessions, led him to experimenting with the sounds on his solo effort.
"It's like a carpenter going home and building a deck for his house," C-Money says of how the album came about.

Lollapalooza has confirmed its 2010 line-up, along with some previously rumored participants like Lady Gaga, the acts confirmed for the music festival include Soundgarden, Green Day, and Arcade Fire.
Lady Gaga is actually making a return to the Lollapalooza stage. Her previous appearance was on the smaller Bmi stage back in 2007, when she didn't even have a single for purchase yet on the merch tent ("Just Dance" didn't debut until eight months later). She's sure to bring her monster set to the largest setup this year.
Speculation surrounding Gaga's appearance had been rumored for months, along with other headliners Soundgarden, who will play for the third time at the festival and the first time since 1996. Green Day are performing for only the second time and the first time since 1994. Arcade Fire perform for the second time as well, and the first time since 2005.

Soundgarden got the ball rolling when the reunited grunge rockers announced their participation in this year’s Lollapalooza 2010 festival. Once that cat sprinted out of the bag, concert organizers decided to reveal the entire lineup (instead of playing that silly “Wheel of Fortune” type of game where letters to band names were announced slowly).
As many guessed, Lady GaGa headlines the festival, which will take place Aug. 6-8, in Chicago’s Grant Park. She’ll be joined by other major radio acts like Green Day, Arcade Fire, and The Strokes.
But the rest of the fest is characterized by offbeat programming and surprising reunions. Social Distortion, Spoon, Wolfmother and Mgmt will bring the rock. Devo and Cypress Hill will bring the retro. Erykah Badu will bring the soul. Jimmy Cliff, Hot Chip, The Black Keys, The National, Cut Copy, The New Pornographers, Slightly Stoopid, Grizzly Bear, Gogol Bordello, Chromeo, Yeasayer,...

Hello. This is Justin Chon from "The Twilight Saga" (you may know me better as Eric). MTV invited to interview Muse and hang back stage at Kroq's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas concert. It was my first time being backstage at any concert, so I was extremely excited to see what it was all about. I have to say that I haven't had that much fun in a long long time.
I left my place at around 7 p.m. and headed over the the Gibson Amphitheater. When I got there, I was able to park in the VIP area because I was with the one and only MTV.
Once I got to the event, it was absolute mayhem. There were so many people in the backstage reception area. Famous people were just perusing about like nobody's business. I met up with the MTV crew and we started our little adventure.

Like occasional collaborator Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg has found a home with viral video. His Buzz Aldrin-assisted moon rap was wonderful, and now the Dogg has struck again. This time, he spoofs that Heineken commercial with the guys who get excited about the walk-in closet full of beer. In typical Snoop fashion, he swaps out the suds in favor of buds. Yes, Snoop's closet is full of Grade A marijuana, as well as friends Verne Troyer and Stephen Marley. The ad is meant to be a viral plug for Snoop's "Blazed and Confused" tour with Marley, Slightly Stoopid and Mickey Avalon, but it's mostly another reason to chuckle at Snoop's warped, beautiful mind.
