Tagline: "Two Men. Twelve Personalities. One Living Hell." Director: Brian M. Conley and Nathan Ives. Writers: Brian M. Conley, Sean Decker and Nathan Ives. Cast: Mischa Barton, Tracie Thoms, Jackson Davis, Bailey Anne Borders and Kareem J. Grimes. The Basement is a co-directed film from Brian M. Conley and Nathan Ives. This indie horror title had a showing at 2017's Shriekfest. Recently, this title was at the Calgary Horror Convention (June 3rd). Here, The Basement was nominated for Best Horror Feature. This title brings Mischa Barton back to the screen, infamous for her role in 2009's Homecoming. Very violent, this title offers all sorts of dire scenarios, in one primary location. Yes, it is a basement of course. The film also offers a number of villains, one is particularly interesting with his many personalities. Even the late reveal of character motivations is well done; one character is especially devious. All...

Reality TV has long been a thorn in our sides. No matter how you slice it, there's no reason for the cast of "Honey BooBoo" or "Duck Dynasty" to be celebrities, and while we are at it... who gives a shit what the real housewives of wherever are fighting about now? It's about time someone took this kind of nonsense to task!
Even cooler? Our own Sean Decker co-produced, and the film features cameos by Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede), Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), Carlee Baker (Lucky McKee's The Woman), and Allison Kyler (Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2).

“The idea came to me a few years ago when I began writing a feature horror/comedy around a young female who drives a hearse,” writer, producer, and director Chris Ackerman told Dread last Saturday night on the set of his then-shooting short film Hell’s Belles. “The main character, ‘Adria Blackmoor’, lives a sheltered life as a morgue technician at her grandfather’s cemetery when unfortunately the gates of hell open, and she’s forced to battle a strange assortment of creatures to save her town.”
Hollywood being Hollywood, however, burgeoning filmmakers are keenly aware of the distinct lack of imagination most suits have during the pitching process (a manuscript seldom cuts it any longer in communicating one’s vision), so Ackerman, who previously served as an associate producer on Yossi Sasson’s 2008 horror feature Dead and Gone, took it upon himself to helm a shortened version of his script,...

Writer, director and producer Paul Hough got in touch with Dread Central to chat up his most recent feature, The Human Race, as well as to provide us with a first look at some key art from the film.
The independently financed flick, which is currently in post-production, stars Paul McCarthy-Boyington (Altered), Trista Robinson (Breath of Hate), Eddie McGee and Celine Tien (the latter two of which worked with Hough on the J-horror influenced The Angel) and revolves around the character of Veronica, a woman who suddenly finds herself in a surreal and horrifying marathon race where the rules are simple - ‘If you are lapped, you die. If you step off the path, you die. One hundred will start but only one will cross the finish line alive.’
