Long live the new queen! Season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race reached its dramatic conclusion on Friday, culminating with a lip sync smackdown for the crown.
This time around, it really was any queen’s game. A recent TVLine poll was split almost completely evenly between the final trio — Nymphia Wind, Plane Jane and Sapphira Cristál — with Sapphira edging out her tied competitors by only a single percent. Even the queens’ track records are remarkably similar; Plane and Sapphira each have four wins under their belts, while Nymphia has three.

It’s getting harder to make a real romantic connection these days, and no one understands that more than Nev Schulman. Back in 2010, the native New Yorker became the subject of a successful documentary directed by his brother Ariel and Henry Joost. Nev had forged a sweet, romantic relationship with a beautiful woman on Facebook – or at least he thought he had. As the documentary crew dug deeper into the woman’s life, they discovered that much of what she had told Nev was a lie, and the term “catfish” was coined.
Over a decade later, Catfish and its meaning are part of the cultural lexicon, and Schulman is still heavily involved in the investigative concept of the original movie, producing and co-hosting a hugely popular MTV docuseries exposing the online truths, lies, and scams encountered by a seemingly endless stream of lonely and lovelorn people over hundreds of episodes.

Zac Efron has accomplished a feat that Disney stars historically struggle with: making a smooth transition from teen idol to adult actor. For a decade and counting, Efron's name has been nearly synonymous with the word "heartthrob." Ask someone who their celebrity crush is, and there's a good chance they'll name the "High School Musical" alum. But over the last 17 years, Efron has charted a steady and increasingly impressive path for himself in the film industry, proving he's here to stay.
Efron has carved out a niche that suits his talents, starring in primarily comedies and musicals, and while his catalog includes plenty of films that weren't critical or commercial hits, his talent shines through regardless. Further, with starring roles in dramas like "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" and "The Iron Claw," Efron is currently making a major transition to serious, dramatic work. It's a challenge he's proven he can handle.

It’s a well known secret that reality shows are often scripted, with producers orchestrating the drama behind the scenes. However, one Catfish insider recently revealed that the MTV reality show is all too real.
‘Catfish’ was based on a documentary about a fake online relationship (L-r) ‘Catfish’ Executive Producer and host Nev Schulman and host Max Joseph | Jason Kempin/Getty Images for MTV
Catfish: The TV Show is based on a 2010 movie of the same name. Both the movie and the show center on the world of online dating. The documentary follows Nev Schulman as he discovers that he has been the victim of a catfish — a.k.a. someone pretending to be someone else online.
The reality show, much like the documentary, follows real people as they work to figure out if the person they’ve been talking to online is fact or fiction. Schulman serves as the host alongside Max Joseph.

Catfish has taught us to be skeptical about everything—but this news has us cautiously optimistic. Max Joseph, who co-hosted the first seven seasons of the MTV documentary series with Nev Schulman from 2012 to 2018, is hinting that a return to the show is on the table. When he made the decision to leave, Max was replaced by Kamie Crawford. "I think they're holding it down pretty great just the two of them, but it would be nice and I hope to potentially do a trio at some point," Max told Page Six. "But I can't really speak to it [now]…It probably would be fun if it did happen." Since leaving the show, Max teamed up with Monica Lewinsky to executive...

The best parts of HBO Max’s latest documentary, “15 Minutes of Shame” have less to do with shaming and much, much more to do with the innate failures of humanity, which in effect leave viewers in a place of relative hopelessness — a shrug emoji made manifest.
Executive produced by Monica Lewinsky and Max Joseph, the film attempts to give insight into the way that the internet and social media feed into the modern methods of public shaming and the rise of “cancel culture.” Those groundswells of judgement are so vitriolic and widespread that it sometimes results in ordinary people, whether they made a mistake or were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lewinsky knows all about going from an anonymous citizen to the center of a scandal resonating on a global stage overnight. And Joseph is no stranger to internet culture, as a filmmaker best known...

“Ummm.” Monica Lewinsky takes a long pause. “I know this is going to sound weird. It’s a totally legitimate question. I don’t know how to answer that.” She thinks about it before finally saying: “In some ways, I just feel too close to it.”
Lewinsky is speaking about her experience with Bill Clinton, and responding to whether he would have been “canceled” had his White House affair with an intern occurred in current times.
“I would hope that we would be having a different kind of conversation,” Lewinsky says. “I would hope that most of the blame would not have rested on my shoulders, and most of the consequences.”
Nearly 25 years later, even in the post-#MeToo era, Lewinsky is not sure how differently things would have turned out today.

Monica Lewinsky helps guide an investigation into the nuances of cancel culture in the new trailer for the upcoming documentary, 15 Minutes of Shame, premiering October 7th on HBO Max.

Kamie Crawford has become an MTV staple thanks to her cohosting gig on Catfish: The TV Show, but in my opinion, she deserves recognition by a wider audience. Crawford has worked towards becoming a big-time host for years, bringing her unique voice and perspective with her. First grabbing headlines when she earned the title of Miss Teen USA in 2010, Crawford extended her brand to become a popular beauty vlogger, model, and TV/media personality (on BET and E! to name a few). She has never presented anything less than her authentic self to her fans. The self-proclaimed "CEO of Facial Expressions" is a badass, and it's more evident than ever now that she's strengthened one of MTV's longest running shows.

When Max Joseph announced that he would be leaving Catfish in 2018, many wondered how the show would go on without Nev’s ever-so-skeptical co-host. After a season of using a rotating co-host format, the show decided to keep Kamie Crawford permanently. Although she had big shoes to fill, Kamie has proven to be a very welcomed addition to the show. She’s smart, funny, and always keeps it real (something that most people on Catfish need). However, outside of Catfish, most people don’t know much about her. Some people may be pleasantly surprised to know that Catfish isn’t her first or

Exclusive: Kamie Crawford, the co-host of MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show, has signed with UTA.
The agency has signed Crawford for worldwide representation in all areas. It comes ahead of the premiere of the remotely-produced season of the non-scripted series, which returns to MTV on Wednesday August 5.
Crawford joined the show in 2018 as one of a number of guest hosts alongside Nev Schulman, whose movie the TV series is based, following the departure of Max Joseph. This year, she stepped up to the role full-time and co-hosted the first half of the show’s eighth season, which debuted earlier this year.
The second half of the season, which is produced by Critical Content and Catfish Picture Company, features episodes shot remotely.
Elsewhere, Crawford, who was Miss Teen USA in 2010, has created content for brands including Swarovski, Lancôme and Dove.
She continues to be represented by attorney Ashley Silver at Bfbst Law.

MTV’s “Catfish” is making a return with its first-ever virtual season, Variety has learned exclusively.
As the coronavirus pandemic pushed people across the globe to shelter in place and self-quarantine, many may have turned to the internet for social connections. Many others have turned to remote-production to create content, and that is exactly what “Catfish” executive producer and host Nev Schulman and co-host Kamie Crawford did.
“Did you think this whole quarantine was going to stop us?” Schulman says in the teaser for the new season, which you can watch above. “Even catfish work from home.”
Together, Schulman and Crawford continue to investigate whether some people’s personal connections were real, or the stuff of a con.

A+E Networks has signed a first-look production agreement with Ozy Media, a onetime magazine brand that has tech backing and has evolved into a producer of original series, podcasts and live events.
While no projects were announced along with the news of the partnership, the companies said the multi-platform deal is seen as encompassing multiple projects per year, with many based on stories Ozy turns up.
A+E Networks Group President Paul Buccieri said the arrangement suits the current production boom for the parent company of networks like History, Lifetime and A&e. He described Ozy as emblematic of A+E’s aim to be “in business with great creatives and storytellers, whose work translates across multiple platforms.” The deal, he said, will “super-serve a growing hunger among consumers for fresh and unique perspectives.”
Founded in 2013 by journalist Carlos Watson, who now serves as CEO, Ozy began as a digital magazine.

Netflix pulled out all the stops towards the end of 2019, as the company launched the most robust slate of awards season titles in its brief history. Of course, the Oscar gold rush doesn’t leave the streamer or any of its competitors with much to offer at the start of the new year, and so Netflix’s January is extremely light on original fare.
To make up for it, the company is offering a grab bag of irrefutable favorites, many of which feed into current awards campaigns in one way or another. Anyone still high off the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” fumes will be happy to find “Catch Me if You Can” and “Kill Bill” back on the platform, while “Joker” fans can parse “The Master” for shades of Arthur Fleck. It’s probably no coincidence that Tyler Perry chose this week, just days before the release of his latest film, “Nobody’s Fool,” to make the announcement that he is planning to retire Madea, the rowdy, blaring, acid-tongued, tiny-pistol-toting church lady from hell who will dress down anyone under the Atlanta sun who crosses her. The madly exuberant matriarch, who will be making her final screen appearance in 2019, has always been the spark plug — the anarchic TNT — of Perry’s comedies. And that makes you wonder: Will he now be looking for surrogate performers to replace that energy?
Of course he will — and, in fact, he has already found one. In “Nobody’s Fool,” Tiffany Haddish, with her unchecked rage and triumphant lewd abandon, plays the first Tyler Perry character who could stand glare to glare, threat to threat, uncorked insult-from-the-hood to uncorked insult-from-the-hood to Perry’s gale-force grandma in drag.

“I saw Bridesmaids,” says Tiffany Haddish in this new trailer for her Nobody’s Fool – a red-band trailer, by the way, so she’s about to tell us exactly what she intends to do in the frilly dress she’s just tried on.
Executive produced, written and directed by Tyler Perry, Nobody’s Fool stars Haddish as Tanya, just released from prison and, trying to get back on her feet, moving in with her uptight sister Danica (Tika Sumpter).
As would be expected, Tanya upsets her sister’s well-ordered life, a life that includes a mysterious about-to-be husband whom Danica herself as never met. Cue the guys from Catfish.
Also in the cast are Omari Hardwick, Mehcad Brooks, Amber Riley and Whoopi Goldberg. Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players, Tyler Perry Studios and Bet Films present the Tyler Perry Studios Production. Associate producer is Carole Wurst,...

She's actually real! 90 Day Fiancé were shook after watching last night's episode because it seemed like after five seasons and three spin-offs, TLC might finally have its first catfish on the show. Fans were almost convinced that 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Ricky's Colombian girlfriend Melissa was really a catfish because all of the signs were pointing to it. But after making Ricky wait more than two hours for her at a restaurant in Colombia, Melissa really did show up and she looked exactly like she did in her photos.
