Navid Gohari was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. He started his music
education at the age of five at the prestigious Music School of State
Television and Radio and soon after picked up violin as his primary
instrument. During his high school years he composed music for a few
short films. Interestingly enough, he then developed an interest for
film make-up and started working on short films as the make-up artist.
However, after trying out that field on a couple of projects, he
switched back to music and focused on composing music for movies and
theatrical plays. He graduated from Tehran Conservatory of Music with
an emphasis in Composition and also completed master classes on
Orchestration & Conducting. Presently, he is a music educator,
conductor, and composer in Tehran. He is also the founder, manager, and
conductor of the Nilper Symphonic Orchestra and the owner of Nilper
Recording Studio and Nilper Research Group. He has composed and
performed music for numerous theatrical plays and movies in Iran and
internationally such as "The Time" (2009) for Iranian director Sanaz
Khorsandi, "The Salvator" (2010) short animation for German director
Koen Gabriels, and $lowdown (2011) for
American director
Saman Yaghmai-Aledavoud.
