Allblk, AMC Networks’ streamer for Black content, has greenlit “Send Help,” a coming-of-age dark comedy created by “Insecure” recurring star Jean Elie and writer and story editor Mike Gauyo.
“Send Help” will follow Fritz (Elie), a young first generation Haitian American struggling to overcome the challenges of “making it” in Hollywood, while coming to terms with a recent family tragedy. He relocates to L.A. from Brockton, Mass., all while trying to be the new man of the family and exploring the Southern California dating scene. Throughout the series, Fritz fights to conquer his feelings of imposter syndrome, the Hollywood community and his family issues. Rather than address his shortcomings head on, he chooses to deny and avoid the issues that everyone else can see.
In “Insecure,” Elie played Issa’s (Issa Rae) younger brother Ahmal. He has also appeared in episodes of “The Eric Andre Show” and “American Crime.

It’s a bona fide “Glee” reunion on the set of producer-turned-director Adi Shankar‘s “Gods and Secrets,” as McKinley High alums Mark Salling and Josh Sussman join a previously announced Max Alder in the film. Salling was a core member of Ryan Murphy‘s musical Fox hit as Noah “Puck” Puckerman. Sussman was a later addition as school newspaper editor Jacob Ben Israel, as was Adler (an associate producer on “Gods and Secrets”) as closeted jock Dave Karofsky. “Gods and Secrets,” co-directed by Shankar and Stewart Yost, explores the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes — for the people they protect and the.

Yesterday we found out that producer Adi Shankar (Dredd, Punisher: Dirty Laundry) would team with Stewart Yost to co-direct a dark new superhero series for HBO titled Gods And Secrets, which is said to be (and very much sounds to be) inspired by Alan Moore's Watchmen. Now The Wrap reports that Denise Richards (Wild Things, Starship Troopers, The World Is Not Enough) and Jane Seymour (Live And Let Die, How I Met Your Mother, Battlestar Galactica) have joined the cast in unspecified roles. Gods And Secrets will focus on the exploits of a superteam known as the "Guardians of Justice", and will explore "the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes — for the people they protect and the famous heroes themselves." Former WWE Superstar Diamond Dallas Page, Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga), Kellan Lutz (The Legend Of Hercules), Sharni Vinson (You're Next) and Andy Milonakis will also star,...

Following on from his work as a producer on "Dredd" and "The Grey" along with the much talked about "Power/Rangers" fan film, Adi Shankar is set to team with Stewart Yost for his directorial debut effort "Gods And Secrets".
The project is described as a dark drama akin to Alan Moore's "Watchmen" in that it will explore the darker logical underpinnings of superhero tropes in a world in which superheroes exist and the resulting celebrity culture are front and center.
The story deals with what happens when a tragedy strikes the super heroic team Guardians of Justice, and in its aftermath secrets are revealed, lives are changed, and the war to end all wars begins.
Diamond Dallas Page, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Sharni Vinson and Andy Milonakis star in the project. No further specifics about it are available at this time.

Adi Shankar, the man who has produced the mainstream likes of Dredd and Lone Survivor, but is more likely to be found creating his own content with his Bootleg Universe shorts and series, has a new project in the works. He has Gods And Secrets on the way, with a cast that includes Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Denise Richards, Jane Seymour and wrestling legend "Diamond" Dallas Page. Gods And Secrets is an indie production that dives deep into the world of superheroes and how their actions affect those around them. It’s designed to put a fresh spin on the comic book tropes and push the boundaries of what’s possible within the genre.Shankar is co-directing the instalments with Stewart Yost, working from a script by Shawn DeLoache, and the likes of Sharni Vinson, Alexandra Billings and Andy Milonakis are also among the cast. Adi Shankar, the producer behind the 'Bootleg Universe' one-shot films Power/Rangers & The Punisher: Dirty Laundry and 2012's Dredd will make his directorial debut with HBO's Gods And Secrets. According to Deadline, Shankar will team up with Stewart Yost to co-direct this dark superhero drama that's said to be inspired by Alan Moore's seminal graphic novel, Watchmen. The drama will feature an original team named 'Guardians Of Justice', and explore the more secretive and shady aspects of celebrity culture by applying it to superheroes. The series is set to star WWE's Diamond Dallas Page, Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga), Kellan Lutz (The Legend Of Hercules), Sharni Vinson (You're Next) and Andy Milonakis. The core premise appears intruiging, while the project's placement on HBO should be enough to pique most people's interest. The cast is admittedly rather uninspiring, but Shankar has impressed in the past with his Bootleg one-shots.
