Born and raised in Washington, D.C. his uncle was a successful character actor in the 60's and 70's. When he died, Lawrence decided to be in just "one" film to honor his uncle's memory. After working in "Gods & Generals" Lawrence went to New York to study under every Acting Coach that would teach him. In 2012, a wardrobe mistake in "Wish You Well" gave Lawrence two opportunities 1) to join SAG/Aftra, and 2) to heed the film's screenwriter David Baldacci's advice. Lawrence immediately enrolled in Yale Professor Marc Lapadula's class and spent the next five years learning screenwriting. During this same five years, Lawrence volunteered at his local television station where he became a cameraman, floor director, control-booth director, producer, and talent. Lawrence also "went everywhere and did everything" and has now been in 85 films.
In the past six years, Lawrence wrote 24 feature screenplays and 14 short scripts producing 9 of those into SAG/Aftra short movies all of which have earned 355 Awards on IMDb. His first black and white movie "RevelationZ" is now on Amazon Prime Video.
In 2022, Lawrence moved to Los Angles to pitch his screenplays. He filmed his 9th short "Consequential" there and is green lit to shoot his 10th short "In-Closure" in 2023. He was also cast by Disney Studios as "Wheels" on "Grownish."
Lawrence's favorite phrase is now "Only in L.A."
