Season four of Marvel and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is right around the corner, and hot on the fiery heels of Yahoo’s unveiling of Gabriel Luna’s Ghost Rider, anticipation is fast beginning to reach a fever-pitch. Lumping fuel on that fire, there’s also chatter that the fourth season of Agents could be its last, meaning that the Powers That Be over at Marvel and ABC will be gunning to engineer a sure-fire hit.
Ghost Rider ought to herald a strong start come September 20, but both parties involved are already thinking further afield, with a fresh batch of images previewing episode numero two, “Meet the New Boss.” It’s understood that said installment will herald a clash between Quake and Ghost Rider, though it appears Marvel is keeping that sequence behind closed doors until the time is right – i.e. somewhere between September 20 and September 27.

Five years on from the moment Nicolas Cage had a crack at the character of Johnny Blaze, Marvel has introduced its new take on the infamous Ghost Rider ahead of his imminent appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Those who have kept pace with Ghost Rider’s journey to ABC’s hit ensemble series will know fine well that Gabriel Luna is actually stepping into the fiery boots of Robbie Reyes – not Johnny Blaze – a Mexican-American character who supplanted Marvel’s iconic stunt driver in the comics two years ago.
Promising an “edgier” and “grittier” take on the hell-raiser, it goes some ways to explaining the overhauled look, too, with Luna’s anti-hero sporting some new duds along with a smoking hot Dodge Charger – how apropos as opposed to the ol’ flaming motorcycle. How exactly the creators plan to make Ghost Rider – a character teeming with...

Thanks to a brand spanking new official synopsis for Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. we now know exactly when to expect to meet Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. And the wait won't be long.
When fans initially heard that the premiere of the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was titled "The Ghost," some thought it would have something to do with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). Turns out, that title has everything to do with Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), and it looks like the character is going to loom very large this season.
But that's not all. Included in the official synopsis for the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is some interesting casting news. We've known for some time that Robbie's brother Gabe will be an important part of the story, but we didn't know who'd be playing him. Turns out that ABC tapped Fear The Walking Dead...

Though he’s not actually in full flaming-skull mode just yet, the first batch of promotional images for the upcoming season 4 premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. do provide us with a glimpse of Gabriel Luna (Matador, Wicked City) as Robbie Reyes, who we will see transform into the Spirit of Vengeance at some point.
The stills also feature Agents May (Ming-Na Wen) and Mackenzie (Henry Simmons), who will be heading up some kind of top secret “specialist strike teams”. This has led to speculation that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s counter-terrorist Special Mission Unit, S.T.R.I.K.E., might also be making their debut.

Actor Haley Joel Osment has gone from being an adorable little boy who could see dead people in The Sixth Sense to an overweight Nazi in his latest film, Yoga Hosers. Photos of Osment shooting in Los Angeles leaked today, and the Internet has gone crazy over how different the former child star looks now.

Our world is so cruel. All of these people poking fun of Haley Joel Osment, because he’s not ‘perfect.’ Grow up & worry about yourself.

So what has been Osment been up to since the last time he made headlines? The 26-year-old is still acting, most recently starring in Kevin Smith‘s Tusk (out Sept. 19) which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Last year, you may have caught the apocalypse dramedy "It's A Disaster," starring David Cross, America Ferrara, Julia Stiles, and the comedy troupe The Vactioneers, made up of Jeff Grace, Kevin M. Brennan, Blaise Miller, and writer/director Todd Berger (here's our review if you need to catch up). Well, now one of The Vacationeers, Jeff Grace, is embarking on his own filmmaking journey and launching a Kickstarter campaign to get the wheels moving on the road movie "Folk Hero & Funny Guy." As we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, "Girls" actor and indie filmmaker Alex Karpovsky (who will next be seen in the Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis") has signed on to co-star in the story of two longtime friends, a folk musician and a stand up comic (Karpovsky) who hit the road together. Actress/musician Liza Oppenheimer is also set to co-star. Grace, a stand up comedian, writer,...

Chicago – The summer movie season has barely begun, and I’m already sick to death of the apocalypse. It seems to have pervaded every mainstream genre, from action-packed thrillers to raunchy comedies. I’ll take a hilarious mess like “This Is the End” over grim sci-fi junk like “Oblivion” and “After Earth” any day, simply because it delivers its cautionary message with tongue-in-cheek exuberance.
What made “This Is the End” such a kick was the sight of watching beloved yet overexposed talents satirize their own media-fed personas. Their characters were all unsympathetic, but there wasn’t an instant in which the audience wasn’t in on the joke. It was rather endearing to see the men whose work played a big role in humanizing American comedy deflate the bloated vulgarity of modern celebrity culture.
DVD Rating: 1.5/5.0

It’s pretty much impossible to avoid the end of the world this summer, and with the trend of blockbuster apocalypse movies showing no signs of abating any time soon, it’s good to have something a little more offbeat to throw into the mix. “It’s a Disaster,” the sophomore effort from up and coming director Todd Berger is exactly that, and to celebrate the DVD release we’ve got three copies on DVD and three copies on Blu-ray to give away to some lucky readers. It got a rapturous response from the packed houses it played to in Los Angeles and when we caught the film at the La Film Festival, we called it “a clever take on the apocalypse film...that takes a humorous look at the problems, both epic and trivial, that threaten to ruin lives” (our review here). With an ensemble cast featuring Julia Stiles,...

Just when you think brunch with a divorcing couple couldn’t get any worse, you find out the world might be ending. It’s not your typical day in the trailer for It’s a Disaster.
When I first heard of this film, I thought it might be going for parody like the Scary Movie franchise, but the movie is played with a straight face (although with a slight tongue-in-cheek feel), which makes it even more amusing.
A couple arrives at a friend’s house for brunch, only to learn during the extremely awkward gathering that the friends are getting a divorce, but there’s no escape from the messy situation because a series of dirty bombs have been detonated downtown.
Judging from the trailer, and the limited release, this probably isn’t the film for you if you’re looking for zombies or explosions or anything even remotely action-packed,...

Though human civilization keeps sailing past its supposed end-dates, the apocalypse is still a source of fascination for many of us, and for filmmakers in particular. While this year will see the serious and big-budget take on the end with the Brad Pitt-starring zombie tentpole “World War Z,” Todd Berger has delivered a smaller and more irreverent take on our doom with the black comedy “It’s A Disaster.” A trailer has now arrived online, so stock up on supplies and check it out below. Starring David Cross, Julia Stiles, Erinn Hayes and Blaise Miller the film centers on a couples brunch gone terribly wrong. First, the hosting couple reveals they’re getting a divorce. Next, a series of dirty bombs are detonated downtown. The couples then figure out how to cope both with the escalating danger outside the house and with their own fraught relationships. Our reviewer called...

When everyone arrives at Emma (Erinn Hayes) and Pete's (Blaise Miller) house, they have absolutely no idea just how disastrous this Sunday brunch will become. First their cell phone reception goes dead, then the television goes to static. What? No Ut football game? Now the shit gets serious! (Hook 'em!) Cut off from the rest of the world, the four couples are left with a table covered with food and wine, and good old fashioned conversation; yet, in a captivating tip of the cap to Luis Buñuel, they never quite get to the food...

Though it might often seem as if most of the wheeling and dealing that goes into the acquisition of festival films happens actually during festivals, there are plenty of worthy titles that end up getting snapped up months after their premieres (just look at John Dies at the End). Though Todd Berger‘s It’s A Disaster premiered back in June at the Los Angeles Film Festival and we’re just getting word of the film being bought now, there was never any question that the Laff favorite (and major crowdpleaser) was going to get picked up, distributed, and totally loved by anyone who has the good sense to watch it. IndieWire reports that Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to the film and is planning to release it both theatrically and digitally in early 2013. Written and directed by Berger, the film stars Julia Stiles, David Cross, America Ferrera, Erinn Hayes...
