Henry Cavill has a lot of upcoming projects, but the one film he is particularly excited about is the Highlander reboot. The actor is one of the most demanded stars in the film industry at present. His unfortunate exit from The Witcher has opened up his schedule, and he is making the most of it.
Cavill is passionate about his projects, and it translates onto the screen flawlessly. The British actor has been a part of several big franchises in his career to date, and he looks set to become the face of yet another one soon.

Oliver Stone has a lot of opinions about the current film industry and says movies like Barbie are contributing to the “infantilization of Hollywood.”
In an interview from June 2023, the filmmaker suggested Ryan Gosling shouldn’t have been involved in the Greta Gerwig film and instead focus on “more serious films.”
“Ryan Gosling is wasting his time if he’s doing that shit for money. He should be doing more serious films. He shouldn’t be a part of this infantilization of Hollywood. Now it’s all fantasy, fantasy, fantasy, including all the war pictures: fantasy, fantasy,” Oliver said in an interview with City Am.
Update: Oliver Stone Clears Up Resurfaced ‘Barbie’ Comments: “I Apologize For Speaking Ignorantly”
Stone took a shot at the Fast and Furious franchise as well, saying that he used to enjoy the films, but recently, they “have become like Marvel movies. I mean, how many crashes can you see?...

Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series spotlighting the year’s most talked-about scripts continues with action franchise smash John Wick: Chapter 4. Seven years have gone by since John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski signed on to direct a reboot of the 1986 classic Highlander (watch it Here), and the filmmaker has been focused on making John Wick sequels while developing the new Highlander. But now John Wick seems to be taking a little break, so it looks like Stahelski might finally have some time to bring sword-wielding immortals back to the screen. Deadline reports that Lionsgate will be presenting Stahelski’s Highlander project to potential buyers at the upcoming American Film Market, looking for partners that will help them recoup the film’s budget, which is said to be over $100 million.
Two years have passed since Henry Cavill of Man of Steel and The Witcher signed on to star in the film, and Cavill remains attached to the project.

Keanu Reeves is a show-don’t-tell kind of actor.
With the release of “John Wick: Chapter 4”, The Wall Street Journal decided to count up the number of words Reeves utters in the blockbuster sequel.

John Wick has always been a character of few words, speaking just 484 words in the first film in the franchise, which ran a cool 101 minutes, the newspaper reported.
But despite the fourth film clocking in at a whopping 169 minutes, Reeves actually speaks even less, with just 380 words spoken by the highly skilled assassin.
In fact, an impressive 10 per cent of those words were already previewed in the film’s trailer, with the character speaking more lines in the ad’s two-and-a-half minutes than the first 25 minutes of the movie itself.

John Wick is a man of few words. No really. A report from The Wall Street Journal reveals that Keanu Reeves’ eponymous assassin says only 380 words across 103 lines of dialogue during “John Wick: Chapter 4,” which runs nearly three-hours long with its 169 minute runtime. Nearly a third of Reeves’ dialogue in the sequel consists of just one single word.
As reported by Wall Street Journal: “In the first installment, clocking in at 101 minutes, Mr. Reeves said a total of 484 words. With a run time of 169 minutes, the fourth movie pushes three hours but features just 380 words by Wick. About 10% of them are featured in the movie’s trailer, which makes the hero seem almost chatty; Wick says more in that 2.5 minute clip than he does in the first 25 minutes of the movie itself.”

All good things must eventually come to an end — or do they?
That's the ominous question hanging heavy over the proceedings of "John Wick: Chapter 4." Long before the film's shocking ending, which strongly implies that Keanu Reeves' title character gives up the ghost and finally achieves a modicum of peace in death that he rarely found in life, the besieged assassin repeatedly runs up against the idea of what comes next. After killing the villainous Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård) and defeating rival hitman Caine (Donnie Yen) and freeing himself from the shackles of the oppressive High Table ... then what? It's almost shocking for such a proven moneymaker of a franchise to come right out and address its own sense of futility, all but turning to audiences and asking us what more we could possibly want out of future "John Wick...

Everyone who loves film and television was shocked and saddened by the passing of the great character actor Lance Reddick at the far too young age of 60. This was just a week before the release of "John Wick: Chapter 4," in which Reddick returned as the Continental concierge Charon.
As well as closing the book on John Wick's story, "Chapter 4" also marks the end for Charon, who is ruthlessly killed by Bill Skarsgård's Marquis de Gamont in the first act. Obviously, the filmmakers had no idea that the actor himself would die so soon before the film's release, but there is an added poignancy and heartbreak both to Charon's death scene and how the other characters speak about him after he's gone. Ian McShane's Winston simply places the word "Friend" on his tombstone, and we can feel the weight of that.

Chad Stahelski, the director of “John Wick: Chapter 4”, faced some heavy studio opposition for his decision to end the story of Keanu Reeve’s beloved John Wick character in the fourth franchise film.
The Hollywood Reporter recently interviewed Stahelski, who explained that he and his team of writers, Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, realized the fourth film would end as the most successful if it wrapped up the franchise.
However, studio heads weren’t too pleased with Stahelski’s decision initially, especially since rumours were flourishing that “John Wick: Chapter 5” would begin filming shortly after the fourth film.

That means it not only has to supply all of the action that audiences have come to expect, it also has to tie up the character arc of John Wick himself. Amongst all the chaos and carnage, there needs to be an emotional center and a reminder of the reason why Mr. Wick is killing all of these people in the first place. That's why that scene in the church between John and Caine is so important, as screenwriters Shay Hatten and Michael Finch explain in an exclusive interview with /Film's Vanessa Armstrong.

Chicago – The John Wick films have always contained body counts that reach well into triple digits. But in “John Wick: Chapter 4” the series indulges in some serious overkill. Everything you liked about the previous three films is on display, with about 20 percent more of the franchise’s growing mythology surrounding the High Table.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Picking up immediately after the events of Chapter 3, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) begins on horseback in Africa dispatching a handful of adversaries in the opening minute before coming to “The Elder” who is the only person who sits above “The High Table” (the secret illuminati organization of assassins that controls and runs absolutely everything). Wick had been promised his freedom in the last film, but when he arrives he finds a new person in charge who refuses to honor the deal. So Wick does what he always does with his adversaries, he puts a bullet in The Elder’s brain.

[The following story contains spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4.]
Ding-dong, the Wick is dead.
John Wick: Chapter 4 director Chad Stahelski has closed the book on Keanu Reeves’ revered assassin, John Wick, and it comes as quite a shock considering there was once a plan to shoot John Wick: Chapter 5 on the heels of Chapter 4. But as Stahelski and his team of writers (Shay Hatten and Michael Finch) crafted the narrative, the story couldn’t help but gravitate towards a conclusion, and Stahelski knew that a fourth film would be most successful if it didn’t uphold the status quo.
However, considering that the John Wick franchise is Lionsgate’s flagship property at the moment, the studio, at first blush, wasn’t too keen on Stahelski and Reeves’ decision to call it a day.
“The response was, ‘What are you fucking thinking?’ The note was, ‘Are you fucking insane?’” Stahelski tells The Hollywood Reporter.

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4."
The fourth installment in the "John Wick" franchise is now in theaters, and the Keanu Reeves-starring film succeeds in topping the already impressive films that came before it. The movie is correctly being hailed as having some of the most memorable and epic fight sequences ever to grace the big screen, but the film also doesn't shirk from giving us an understanding of Reeves' titular character.
"The struggle that Keanu has is, 'Am I John or am I John Wick?'" the film's co-writer, Michael Finch, told me in an interview alongside his fellow co-writer, Shay Hatten. "John Wick is fully under the thumb of the Table. John is a man who fell in love and had a relationship with this wonderful woman, Helen. We want the audience to understand that and get behind...

While superhero tentpoles might be struggling in the early going of 2023, other genre films seem to be doing perfectly fine, thank you very kindly. "John Wick: Chapter 4" is the latest non-superhero flick to openly strongly at the box office, taking in a franchise-high $8.9 million in Thursday evening previews (via Variety). That's despite its 169-minute runtime, although its supporters would tell you Mr. Wick's fourth outing is perhaps the breeziest three-hour action movie to make its way into theaters this side of "Rrr."

To dub John Wick: Chapter 4 one of the weaker sequels in franchise canon says more about the bulletproof exterior of Chapter 2 and Parabellum. Director Chad Stahelski abides by the country-hopping, Gun-Fu trademarks of Mr. Wick’s odyssey thus far, delivering everything longtime fans desire. Keanu Reeves headshots his way through nightlife bodyguards, action superstars camouflaged under prosthetics, and hired assassins with all the grace of a ballerina gliding across venue stages. Except, this time there’s something different — you can feel the runtime. An almost three-hour Grecian epic turned into a blistering action spectacle stretches thin as the third act culminates, a first for any John Wick movie.
Even still, John Wick: Chapter 4 keeps its foot on the gas, and the tank ain’t empty yet. It just happens to be hitched to one of the greatest American action franchises.

In retrospect, as with Die Hard, Iron Man, and The Fast And The Furious, it seems inevitable that John Wick would not only spawn a franchise but scores of imitators. They also all suffer from sequels that stretch across ever greater sets of time, space and budget, with diminishing returns. In that sense then it also seems that the fate of John Wick was written from the beginning, even if it's also clear that it's being made up as we go along.

This article contains major John Wick: Chapter 4 spoilers. Be warned!
It’s probably not what you expect when going into a movie with “Chapter 4” in the title. Despite a three-hour running time, and plenty of rumblings in the press about the next John Wick flick possibly being the last one, only a precious few actually anticipated John Wick would die by the movie’s end.
And yet—and yet, dear reader—that certainly appears to be the case when the credits roll in John Wick: Chapter 4. After receiving a seemingly mortal wound from his old friend turned enemy, the blind super assassin, Caine (a magnificent Donnie Yen), Keanu Reeves’ ultimate action hero asks his father figure—who also shot him that one time—Winston (Ian McShane) to “take me home.” Winston agrees, and Jonathan walks quietly, triumphantly, into the rising sun above La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. This article contains massive spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4."
There's an ancient saying: "Before you set out on revenge, first dig two graves." The axiom has been attributed to everyone from Confucius to James Bond, but while its origins are indeterminate, its sentiment is evergreen. Revenge is a deadly business that will likely consume the soul — if not the life — of anyone who seeks it.
John Wick (played with brooding soulfulness by Keanu Reeves) can attest to the truth of that saying, as can many of his friends and enemies. In the latest installment of his saga, "John Wick: Chapter 4," the daughter of Wick's friend Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada), Akira (Rina Sawayama), observes that "everything he touches, dies." Another of Wick's on-again, off-again allies, Winston (Ian McShane) pleads with John to know where his roaring rampage of revenge will end. John himself, as ever, isn't sure of the particulars.

In his ongoing quest to defeat The High Table, John Wick discovers a way to earn his freedom once and for all. In order to do so he must defeat his most formidable foe yet, a ruthless, high ranking member in the organization with resources, and bodies, to spare. Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski reunite once again for a fourth whopping chapter of the widely popular, benchmark setting action series of films. Writer Shay Hatten, having already deepened the lore of this criminal underworld and the High Table with original writer Derek Kolstad in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, partners with Michael Finch for this fourth chapter. John Wick: Chapter 4 blasts out of the gate on a mission to be the greatest action movie ever made. By the end of its fist-pumping, wince-inducing run, it has a legitimate claim.
The fourth adventure of the world’s most monosyllabic assassin is the franchise’s biggest, clocking in at nearly three hours and sending Keanu Reeves’ titular hero on a quest from New York to Paris, with stops in Osaka and Bulgaria thrown in just for kicks. It’s an exhausting and thrilling ride, crafted with such reverence for its action sequences that it could single-handedly justify an Oscar category for stunts.

Keanu Reeves' brutally efficient assassin John Wick has been away from our screens for an extended period of time, largely thanks to the pandemic, but that all changes very, very soon with the release of "John Wick: Chapter 4." Reeves has once again reunited with director Chad Stahelski for what figures to be an epic adventure in the secret world of assassins, as this entry clocks in at just shy of three hours. That's a lot of headshots. That raises the rather important question: do viewers also have to sit through the credits?
While superhero movies have mode post-credits scenes commonplace, the "John Wick" series has not really been subject to them up to this point. But for those who are curious, we're here to offer up a spoiler-free guide for "Chapter 4." Seriously, no spoilers here, just information that you, dear reader, can put to good use when you see the movie in theaters.

The “John Wick” franchise has evolved from a small-scale tale of revenge for the killing of a wife and a dog, to a globetrotting epic that spans continents, dozens of characters, and an intricate mythology. The John Wick franchise allows the action set pieces to be the star, empowering long takes that allow the audience to take in its sheer brutality. Each installment pushes further down on the pedal, and each time we think that it’s to the metal, we’re proven it actually goes further. The delight of the John Wick franchise lies squarely in its weirdness. The film series famously kicked off with mercenary protagonist and certified wife guy John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, avenging his dog. But as John’s thirst for vengeance dwindled, the screenwriters decided to surround him with bloodthirsty weirdos rather than kill more of his loved ones. Even better, the films are aware of their own strangeness, lending a campy joy to even the dourest deeds.
The franchise is at its bizarre best in “John Wick 4,” written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch and directed, as always, by former stuntman Chad Stahelski. The wild world of assassins is more esoteric, the cinematography and choreography more stunning. Though the film stretches to an audacious 169 minutes — just under three hours — if you surrender yourself to the gorgeous silliness of the Wickiverse, it goes by in a fist-flying flash.

Early reactions to "John Wick 4" are calling it the best of the franchise and one of the best action films ever made. Regardless of the overexcitement that can occur at a premiere, there's still a lot of high praise surrounding John Wick's ongoing dispute with the High Table. The globe-spanning story is also receiving some acclaim, so expect a little bit of actual drama mixed in with heaping amounts of martial arts mayhem. It's been a long time coming but, yeah, we're thinking he's back. Keanu Reeves has returned for the fourth installment of the "John Wick" franchise in his biggest and most badass movie yet. He is bringing his fight against the members of the High Table from around the world, kicking ass and taking names across New York, Paris, Berlin, and Japan. Chad Stahelski is back to continue his directorial dominance, shooting a screenplay from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad. With the addition of Donnie Yen and the promise of anime-influenced fight sequences, it's safe to say "John Wick: Chapter 4" is easily one of the most highly-anticipated releases of the year.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is fast approaching, and if analysts are to be believed, the latest chapter of Baba Yaga’s bullet-slinging saga could have the biggest opening for the franchise to date. Predictions have John Wick: Chapter 4 opening at $60M-$70M, the largest domestic opening for the franchise yet!
In addition to John Wick: Chapter 4 earning the biggest opening for the action franchise yet, the film would also net the most significant opening for Lionsgate since the start of the pandemic era. It’s essential to remember that theater attendance, while on the rise, is still unpredictable. Many theatergoers are still nervous about attending packed theaters with strangers, and movies have never arrived on steaming services faster than they do now. The final trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 finds the titular character (Keanu Reeves) being advised the only way he’ll ever have freedom and peace is in death. In classic John Wick style, he replies, “Yeah, not really.” After action-packed clips of Wick knocking off dozens of adversaries, the trailer ends in the best way possible with a dog looking up at the canine-loving trained killer as if he’s asking what’s next.
The fourth film of the incredibly popular franchise also features Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, and Hiroyuki Sanada. Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane also star.
Chad Stahelski, the director of the three previous John Wick films, directs this fourth film from a screenplay by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk, and Erica Lee produced, with Keanu Reeves, Louise Rosner, David Leitch, and Michael Paseorn executive producing.

Chad Stahelski is once again behind the lens for John Wick 4, which was written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. The cast features several newcomers to the franchise, including Donnie Yen as Caine, Bill Skarsgård as The Marquis de Gramont, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu, and Shamier Anderson as The Tracker, as well as Rina Sawayama as Akira in her feature film debut.

Lionsgate continues their “Wick Week” celebration with an all-new John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer!
Ironically, “Wick Week” can also somewhat be applied to the timeframe of the narrative of this movie series, as each entry picks up right after the last. Chapter 4 may be a different beast as last we left John Wick, he had been seemingly betrayed by Winston and left to die after being shot off of the roof of The Continental. But you cannot simply kill Baba Yaga.
The first trailer showed us the initial set-up, with John being granted an audience with the High Table. In a definitive attempt to leave his hitman lifestyle behind, he must fight for his freedom against Marquis, played by Bill Skarsgård, and his horde of soldiers. This final trailer previews the sheer madness that ensues from this challenge, jamming with Nas’ “Got Urself a Gun” in the background. John globe-trots to Paris,...

John Wick is burning the candle at both ends in the latest franchise installment.
Keanu Reeves returns as the titular assassin, now on the run from organization The High Table, in the new “Sopranos”-esque trailer for “John Wick: Chapter 4.”
Chad Stahelski returns to direct Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Skarsgård, and Hiroyuki Sanada in the globe-trotting fourth film, with Paris being one of the five locations teased. “Chapter 4” picks up after Wick was delivered to the Bowery King (Fishburne) at the end of “John Wick Chapter 3,” after trying to topple the assassin hierarchy of The High Table.
Michael Finch and Shay Hatten pen the script for the film, which finds “new and interesting ways to have John Wick suffer” through even more insane stunts, as director Stahelski said.
“John may survive all this shit, but at the end of it, there’s no happy ending.

John Wick is back. And he’s ready to kick your ass.
“John Wick: Chapter 4” doesn’t debut until March 24, 2023, but a brand-new trailer has been unleashed, revealing more about what the super sequel will have in store for audiences next spring. And, wouldn’t you know it, this latest installment features a lot of brutal murder? (Watch it above.)
