Robert McCloskey in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. McCloskey wanted to study ducklings for a book he was working on, so he brought a flock home and housed them in the bathtub, with Simont's consent. The book was "Make Way for Ducklings", for which McCloskey won a Caldecott Medal.
