After the "Star Wars" prequel films, we could have called it a day for the franchise. Instead, we got a film and a series about a character named Ahsoka Tano (voice of Ashley Eckstein), who has become a fan favorite. So much so that she made several TV series cameos and got her own live-action Disney+ series with Rosario Dawson taking over the role. The young Togruta woman who apprenticed with Anakin Skywalker before his fall to the dark side first appeared in the animated film "The Clone Wars," which served as the beginning of the animated series of the same name.
We've watched Ahsoka begin as a brash young padawan who slowly learned the ways of the Force, and we saw her leave the Jedi order after she was blamed for something she didn't do. We saw her confront who her master became and followed her adventures through "Star Wars Rebels,...

The seventh and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars packed a lot of surprising moments for fans, but what still stands out in the highly acclaimed Siege of Mandalore story arc are the poignant and reflective last few moments of the show.
Expectations were pretty high for the return of Dave Filoni’s animated series. Not only would the story tie directly into Revenge of the Sith, but it’d also feature Order 66 and a duel between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul. And surprisingly, The Clone Wars once again delivered on all fronts. Granted, the first story arc was approachable at best and the second one, concerning the return of Snips, was mostly made up of filler narrative segments. But the executive producer didn’t waste a moment as soon as the show launched into the long-awaited Siege of Mandalore.

Mostly thanks to the fact that the guy running the United States these days is an unwitting stooge for Vladimir Putin, Russia is suddenly more culturally relevant than it has been in decades. Combine that with the fact that the public’s thirst for superhero movies is so unquenchable that even bad ones can make a ton of money, and suddenly it becomes clear that the timing is pretty good for an adaptation of Mark Millar, Dave Johnson, and Kilian Plunkett’s 2003 comic book miniseries Superman: Red Son. That seems to be what Warner Bros. is thinking, at least, as Den Of Geek claims that the studio has taken pitches from multiple directors about possibly making a live-action version of the comic.
None of this is confirmed, so it’s a very tenuous rumor at this point, but most of the “evidence” comes from a Twitter exchange between Mark ...

In the most recent episode of Star Wars Rebels, "Through Imperial Eyes," fans got a close look at Grand Admiral Thrawn's office in his Star Destroyer, and you might have missed some pretty cool little Easter eggs.
Thanks to a recent episode of Rebels Recon, those Easter eggs were officially pointed out by Art Director Kilian Plunkett. Those Easter eggs include the Holy Grail from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade; the helmet of the Clone Trooper that Yoda decapitated in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith; a painting of Lothal on the wall that is actual concept art from legendary Star Wars artist Ralph McQuarrie; and a bust of an Abednedo, which is the same species as the pilot Ello Asty in The Force Awakens. I don't know if you remember or not, but the Abednedo were named after Beastie Boys songs and albums by J.J. Abrams including...

"Out of Darkness" finds Sabine growing frustrated with Hera and Kanan’s secrecy. The Mandalorian demands to accompany Kanan on a rendezvous with a mysterious contact, but the two find that their meeting place is infested with deadly fyrnocks. They escape, and Sabine learns to have faith in Hera’s leadership. At the Art and Science of Lucasfilm panel, the Star Wars Rebels team spoke with local students. Art director Kilian Plunkett showed the design process for Chopper and Kanan; it begins with 2-D illustrations, and both characters went through significant evolutions. Chopper originally had a very Artoo-like dome, and Kanan did not always have his trademark ponytail and goatee. Sculpted maquettes finalize the process, showing how the character looks in three dimensions. In “Out of Darkness,” Hera and Sabine take center stage. Pablo Hidalgo tells Lucasfilm’s Andi Gutierrez that Hera is “the true believer of the show. She...

(Cbr) After months of talking about "Star Wars Rebels" antagonist The Inquisitor, Lucasfilm is finally showing fans the other main villain from the upcoming Disney Xd animated series, Agent Kallus. “His job is to basically make sure everyone stays loyal,” voice actor David Oyelowo says in the video below. “And anyone who gives a whiff of disloyalty has to be cut out. So, I guess you could safely say he’s a bad guy.” “He’s pretty literally a rebel hunter,” director Kilian Plunkett said. “His whole task is to investigate any sort of instance of local insurgency and see if it’s the beginnings of what could become a rebellion.” If that’s not enough "Star Wars" information for your brain, StarWars.com has the full lineup of Comic-Con International events from a galaxy far, far away, along with this new "Rebels" poster.

With the fall premiere of Star Wars Rebels rapidly approaching, some fans are dying to get a glimpse of the characters that they'll soon be following into that galaxy far, far away. Today, we got ourselves a look at The Inquisitor's right-hand man, Agent Kallus.
You liking them mutton chops? The designs reveal that they wanted to capture the styles of the 1970s, which were so prevalent in Star Wars: A New Hope. "Art director Kilian Plunkett and I looked at a lot of reference to try and make that influence fit into ‘Rebels.’ At one point we had [Rebel pilot] Zeb in bell bottoms," says the show's executive producer Dave Filoni.
Voicing Kallus is hot up-and-comer David Oyelowo, who you'll soon see in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, and who's just wrapped up an impressive run of films like Rise of The Planet of The Apes, Lincoln, and Lee Daniels' The Butler.

Hot on the Jedi bootheels of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars announcement from earlier today, we bring you a featurette from the new Star Wars animated show coming in the fall, Star Wars Rebels. It’s an introduction to Kanan, described as a “cowboy Jedi” by Dave Filoni, and who reminds us of our favorite reformed smuggler…
Here’s more from the Star Wars YouTube channel:
Not every guardian of peace and justice was lost to the tragedy of Order 66. Introducing Kanan, a survivor of the Emperor’s Jedi purge and one of the main characters of Star Wars Rebels.
Kanan, voiced by Freddie Prinze, Jr., is a less traditional Force-wielder than fans are used to seeing. He carries a blaster, is a little sarcastic, and keeps his past a secret. “I like to call Kanan ‘the cowboy Jedi,’” says executive producer Dave Filoni. As shown in this video,...

London, Jan. 29: 'Star Wars' makers have created a new character, which they claim is the laziest, grumpiest and rudest from the franchise.
The robot named Chopper is going to be featuring in the upcoming animated series, 'Star Wars Rebels.'
The new character is based on original drawings of R2-D2, and is an essential crew member of the Ghost, tasked with keeping the starship in full working order for its band of heroes.
Chopper has been described as lazy, cranky and disobedient like a teenager on wheels, the Daily Star reported.
Art Director Kilian Plunkett said that Chopper is extremely belligerent, very rude and does things only if they suit him.
He said that the biggest difference between Chopper.

We met The Inquisitor, the “new face of evil” for the upcoming Star Wars animated series Star Wars Rebels, back in October. Very creepy, very evil. Now we’re being introduced to someone from the hero side, sort of. His name is Chopper, and he’s a droid for the rebels, with reportedly quite an attitude.
As we’ve been telling you, Star Wars Rebels, which is to be set in the two decades between Episodes III and IV, is getting its design sense from original Star Wars designer Ralph McQuarrie, and you can see some of that in this video:
He can be cranky, he takes his time, and he can sometimes have a bad attitude. But he’s also incredibly loyal and heroic. Meet Chopper, astromech droid of the starship Ghost in the highly anticipated Star Wars Rebels animated series, revealed for the first time in this exclusive video.
