Fox News star Sean Hannity left curious members of the “left media” hanging until the very end of his show Monday night to say, “all the lies you’ve heard about me, they’re not true.” Hannity tweeted last week that if the network’s co-president Bill Shine was forced out, it would be “the total end of the Fnc as we know it.” What followed was speculation that Hannity will be the next star to leave based on his close ties to the now-former Fox News boss. Fox News Channel co-president Bill Shine will not remain with the network amid ongoing sexual harassment allegations involving top executives and on-air talent. He was regarded as a key member of the old regime at Fox News and was promoted to co-president, alongside Jack Abernethy, last year when Ailes stepped down as CEO because of multiple sexual harassment allegations. Even with the defection of more than 50 advertisers, Bill O’Reilly is weathering his latest sexual-harassment scandal. Ratings for “The O’Reilly Factor” are up, his new book “Old School” is a bestseller, and he just signed a rich new deal with Fox News Channel.
That makes this an even tougher test for corporate parent 21st Century Fox, and leaders James and Lachlan Murdoch. While O’Reilly is apparently immune to dishonor (and to fleeing sponsors, as long as his faithful viewers tune in), the corporation’s reputation is on the line. And the Murdochs haven’t done much to condemn the allegations of sexual harassment, or detail how they plan to expand efforts to make sure employees, and particularly women, feel safe in the workplace. What was supposed to be a segment on how the U.S. unemployment rate among young people could hurt President Obama‘s support in that demo turned out to be open-mic night for aspiring comedian Max Rice. Appearing as a former Obama supporter-turned-Romney supporter on Fox News Channel‘s Fox & Friends this morning, Rice and co-host Gretchen Carlson combined for an awkward few minutes before Carlson got the hint that he wasn’t who she thought he was. Kudos to her for staying professional and trying to stay on topic, but what was the show booker thinking? “We are still examining the situation, but it will be addressed with the appropriate parties involved”, said Fox News’ Evp Programming Bill Shine. Here’s the exchange:...

New York (AP) — Where can public praise for your work make you unemployable elsewhere? Welcome to the world of cable television news.
Media critics jumped on Fox News Channel last week for airing a nearly four-minute video critical of President Barack Obama's record that resembled a campaign attack ad. The episode was most interesting, however, for revealing a game of personnel hardball that even Johan Santana might admire.
The video shown Wednesday on "Fox & Friends" took Obama's words about "hope and change" as a starting point. It mixed statistics on such things as employment, gas prices and personal savings, coupled them with ominous music and newscaster sound bites, and argued that things had not changed for the better.
When it concluded, "Fox & Friends" anchors took the unusual step — not unprecedented, but unusual in TV news — of crediting offscreen producer Chris White.
"Great job putting that together," said Brian Kilmeade.

Associate producer Chris White, embroiled in a controversy over a video he created critical of President Barack Obama, will keep his job at the Fox News Channel, the network said Friday. Photos: 20 Biggest Political Players in Hollywood The video White produced for Fox & Friends was praised on air but later rebuked by executive vp programming Bill Shine, who responded to mounting criticism that it looked more like a political attack ad than a news-feature by noting the project “was not authorized at the senior executive level.” Insiders said White was planning a move to CNN

It looks like Chis White is keeping his job at Fox News Channel. White was the associate producer at Fox & Friends credited with creating a four-minute video critical of President Obama that aired on the morning show Wednesday (see it here). “Chris White will remain employed with Fox News,” network Evp Bill Shine said today. “We’ve addressed the video with the producers and are not going to discuss the internal workings of our programming any further.” White was allegedly offered a job at CNN, but the rival news network said yesterday it would not hire him after all. After creating a four-minute political video that was praised when it aired, a Fox News Channel associate producer’s career is nevertheless in flux, spurned by his current employer and by CNN, which has apparently rescinded an offer of employment. Chris White, who produced a news video so slick and so critical of President Barack Obama that critics likened it to a political attack ad, was accused by Fox News executive vp programming Bill Shine on Wednesday of practically going rogue with the video. Insiders, though, said there weren’t repercussions against White because he had been planning to take a job
