Selected by the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) as a Breakthrough Brit 2015 /2016, Ellen Husain is freelance wildlife film-maker. Known for her work as a Producer /Director on BBC's Landmark series The Hunt (2015, David Attenborough), she produced the film Nowhere to Hide, as well as the new-to-science and never previously filmed orca-humpback whale hunt for The Hardest Challenge. The Hunt is a 7 part series for BBC1 / BBCWW, narrated by Sir David Attenborough and scored by Oscar winner Steven Price (Gravity).
With a Ph.D and M.Sc, and B.Sc. Hon's in marine biology, and holding her professional SCUBA licence, Ellen specialises in marine and underwater content as well as terrestrial wildlife filming.
A keen conservationist and advocate for the marine environment, Ellen also undertakes a number of passion projects each year, and has presented BBC content on the subjects of ocean plastics, climate change, coral bleaching, and rising sea levels.
