Mickey Friedman has over 20 yrs of film and television experience.
At the age of 14, he auditioned for and was accepted into the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. In New York, Mickey studied under the direction of the acclaimed Geoffrey Horne (Bridge on the River Kwai) for 2 years, and was accepted to Cornell University and Boston University's Theatre Institute at the age of 16.
Also an alumni of Emerson College, Mickey worked as the VTR operator for WEIV TV evening news, while attending class alongside Emmy winners Marci Klein(SNL,30 Rock),David Cross (Arrested Development) and Max Munchnick (Will & Grace).
While at Emerson, He hosted the satirical game show, "Pennies from Heaven" which pitted local Clergy members vs college students in a Bible themed quiz show. The show was canceled after a fist fight broke out between 2 contestants during the first taping.
Mickey went on to successfully host Emerson's "AM Boston" (1986), as well as win an Experimental Film and Animation Society grant to produce 3 short films.
Mickey got his first job in Network television at the age of 21 as a production assistant on the NBC hit show "Saved by the Bell".
He has gone on to produce countless commercials, as well as corporate and independent video for broadcast television and the Internet.
His tourism video & documentary footage of the Spanish "Ferial de San Fermin" has been utilized by ESPN and the Spanish Board of Tourism.
Mickey was also part of Stevie Award winning team with Emmy Award winner Rupert Hitzig that produced the Documentary "Ogden, it's All within reach". The team also produced P&FVA award winning recruiting films for the Ogden police & fire dept which highlighted female officers and gender equality in the workplace.
Mickey has produced recruiting films for the California Dept of Corrections, & worked on major projects featuring Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Neil Young, The Black Eyed Peas, & Paul McCartney to name a few. He also produced the first satellite tour for Grammy winner Donnie Mcklurkin. ( Mcklurkin's CD went to # 1 on the gospel chart & # 14 on the Billboard top 200 the day after the tour)
Mickey has produced video for the British Consular Generals office in Los Angeles for a project that featured live coverage of Prime Minister Tony Blair's address to the world affairs council.
He has also been heavily involved in client sponsored news, video news release, electronic press kits, B-roll, SMT, ENG, red carpet, product launch, and press conference coverage.
He continues to take on various media projects with his production company AOD Media in Los Angeles.
Mickey is also the founder of www.1lastword.com, a website offering secure post life communications.
Mickey lives in Hermosa Beach CA. After splitting with long time girlfriend, B-movie starlet Lilith Stabs, He was briefly linked to Capital recording artist Mandi Osterander aka Syrryn, female lead singer of the Punk Metal band Gotcha as well as actress Maya Hills
