Young Justice has easily become one of the most beloved animated superhero series in recent times. The series has an excellent lineup of characters, all of which feel well-thought-out and have extremely interesting stories. It picked whatever aspects of a character’s back story they wanted, choosing from the several versions and sticking with them. If they were unable to find the correct pieces, they made changes, creating the intricate puzzle that is the series.
Young Justice
The perfect example of a significant change they made to an original story is Martian Manhunter and Mars as a planet. Going from a destroyed planet to a lively civilization on the brink of civil war, the change brought about a lot of interesting elements to the story.

Out of all the animated series ever curated by the DC Animated Universe, perhaps none comes as close to perfection and fans’ hearts as Young Justice. A masterpiece, it ruled the hearts of fans worldwide throughout the time it aired. But despite such success, it had to end its run as unexpectedly as ever, leaving fans from all around the globe absolutely devastated.
DC’s Young Justice.
Previously, the reason behind this sudden cancelation was being widely cited as the huge female fanbase the series attracted. However, as it turns out, those rumors were hardly the case in real life, for the real reason was actually “economics,” as showrunner Greg Weisman himself clarified. And when we share this reason with you, you’ll end up hating Mattel even more than ever before.

Swinging onto the scene in 2008, The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series offered a fresh take on the web-slinging hero. Aimed at a slightly older audience than previous shows, the series captured the essence of being a teenager juggling school, friends, family, and the ever-present responsibility of being a superhero.
A still from The Spectacular Spider-Man
This show not only delivered classic Spidey action but also paid subtle homage to a comic book adaptation legend who also worked on DC Studio’s Justice League. The cameo was a clever way for the creators to show their respect for the ones who have the brains behind the shows.

Marvel’s X-Men ’97 animated superhero series is the talk of the town these days. Another animated series named Young Justice once attracted a fair amount of attention. Developed by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, the show’s first two seasons were aired on Cartoon Network. While the third season was aired on DC Universe, the fourth was released on HBO Max.
DC’s Young Justice
Being an animated show did not deter Vietti and Weisman from exploring realistic topics. One of the DC heroes in the series even became a symbol of mental health and the showrunners once revealed how it turned out that way.

Young Justice is an animated series that chronicles the adventures of teenage superheroes and sidekicks from DC Comics. Despite its popularity and innovative storytelling, the show was unexpectedly canceled after its first two seasons.
Young Justice Season 4
The reason behind the cancellation was rather unusual. It had nothing to do with the show’s quality or viewership. Instead, toy makers Mattel decided to cancel the series because they didn’t view it as a profitable option for generating revenue. With that said, the show went on for two more seasons and it appears HBO Max played a huge role in it surviving a major change in season 4.

Young Justice is easily regarded as one of those animated series from DC that fans just can’t get enough of. Encircling the life of several teenage protege superheroes, it delivered the ultimate justice through its perfect portrayal of the young characters. But out of all the teenagers, there was one whose storyline was helmed with utter care.
Young Justice.
This character was none other than the young superhero who was a result of a Human-Motherbox fusion: Halo, aka Violet Harper. In fact, the creators of the animated show wanted to ensure such utter carefulness while delving into Harper’s storyline that they even went so far as to take help from the Muslim Public Affairs Council for the same!

Annie Weisman, creator of Apple TV+’s Rose Byrne comedy Physical, is heading back to the streamer with her latest project – a series adaptation of Araminta Hall’s novel Imperfect Women that will star Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington.
Weisman will adapt the book, which came out in 2021, as a limited series. The psychological thriller is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios.
The book tells the story of Nancy Hennessy, who is murdered and leaves behind two best friends, an adoring husband and daughter, and a secret lover whose identity she took to the grave. Nancy was gorgeous, wealthy, and cherished by those who knew her—from the outside, her life was perfect. But as the investigation into her death flounders and her friends Eleanor and Mary wrestle with their grief, dark details surface that reveal how little they knew their friend, each other, and maybe even themselves.

"Young Justice" currently sits in limbo after its fourth season wrapped on Max. There's more story to tell, but Warner Bros. hasn't given creator Greg Weisman the greenlight to tell it. But hey, "Young Justice" has come back from worse! Cartoon Network outright canceled the show after season 2 finished airing in 2013.
"Young Justice" has the same premise as "Teen Titans" (soon to be a movie from DC Studios). The sidekicks of DC Comics form their own team. Then, each season skips ahead in time and the show's true design is unveiled. "Young Justice" isn't just a show about the sidekicks, it's Weisman's epic about the entire DC Universe, following heroes and villains as they age and fall, and new ones rise.

Arguably, the most famous fictional planet is Krypton -- the home of Kal-El, aka Clark Kent, aka Superman. We all know the story (though studios seem to think we don't) of how Krypton was destroyed, and how the sole (kind of) survivor was baby Kal-El. But while Krypton gets all the attention, it's not the only desolated former metropolis in the DC Universe.
Another essential part of the DC mythos is Mars, our red neighbor. In most of the DC continuity, Mars is mostly devoid of life, with all civilizations having been wiped out through war or a plague, leaving only J'onn J'onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter, alive and stranded on Earth. That is not the case with the acclaimed "Young Justice" animated series, which portrays Mars as having a big, advanced, and very active Martian civilization.

In the series finale of Physical, lead character Sheila Rubin (Rose Byrne) takes a look at herself in the mirror and notices a pimple along her laugh line. Her natural inclination is to pop the blemish, but upon leaning in and examining the spot more closely, she decides to leave it be. The scene in the episode titled “Lucky Star” is a nod to the series premiere, “Let’s Do This Thing,” which debuted on June 18, 2021, and introduced Sheila in a similar vein along with the inner voice that would threaten to be her undoing over the next three seasons.

Deschanel’s sitcom star and rising fitness guru Kelly (glimpsed in the Season 2 finale) assumes the role of Sheila’s vicious inner voice for the final season, as Sheila comes ever closer to her dream of an aerobics empire in ’80s San Diego. “It’s an incredible role and an incredible part,” Byrne said in an interview conducted ahead of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. “I’ve never read anything like this. It’s been a really creatively life-changing experience. I feel very protective of the show and Sheila.”

Update:
Shortly after rumors about Kenneth Branagh adapting the classic animated series Gargoyles to the silver screen took flight, writer Greg Weisman is out here clipping wings, saying the story is false. Many credit Weisman as the creator of Gargoyles, lending more weight to his word than a group of stone-encased protectors of New York City.
“I’m thinking… that it’s flat-out not true,” Weisman tweeted hours after the rumor spread like wildfire on Monday.

“Gargoyles is still my baby. I don’t own it. I don’t get a dime off of it being on Disney Plus. And yet I’m so thrilled that it is, I’m thrilled that it represents a chance — even if it’s a slim chance — to bring it back,” Weisman previously said to Polygon.

The third and final season of “Physical” will introduce a new competitor to Rose Byrne’s Sheila Rubin.
Just as the dark voices in her head have silenced as Sheila commits to her wellness journey and builds a television fitness empire, a new opponent arises for the entrepreneur in a rising exercise celebrity, played by Zooey Deschanel.
“You are a national television personality now,” Greta tells Sheila in the trailer. “We are on the precipice of something big, there’s just one problem: Kelly Kilmartin … she’s the most famous fitness star.”
Doubt immediately begins to creep into Sheila’s mind, manifesting itself as an imaginary Kelly (Deschanel), who taunts Sheila by saying, “I’m better than you” and “you’re just hanging on by a thread, just waiting for that moment to snap.”

Blake Mills has the kind of CV, and accompanying reputation, that leaves little to quibble with. The 36-year-old Los Angeles musician is an ace producer (Perfume Genius, Feist, Marcus Mumford); an in-demand sideman and session player (Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Phoebe Bridgers); and an exceptional singer-songwriter in his own right. But there’s one notion people have about him that Mills finds baffling: That “I’m this extremely capable guitarist who never allows himself to play.”

Starring Rose Byrne, the dark comedy follows Sheila Rubin (Byrne), a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband’s bid for state assembly. Season two found Sheila, having successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles on her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Rory Scovel) and the values he represents, and a dangerous attraction to someone else. “I like the challenge of bad behavior from a good person,” reveals Annie Weisman. She serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for “Physical” on Apple TV+. Season 2 of the series sees plenty of poor behavior from its core characters, but Weisman always manages to lure viewers into rooting for her characters no matter their missteps. Watch the exclusive video interview above. This chat was recorded before the writers strike began.
“I really love exploring characters that you think you’re done with, and then finding the empathy again,” explains Weisman. It’s safe to say that his wife Sheila (Rose Byrne), and the audience, had written off their marriage as a goner after Danny’s poor decisions in the first season. Byrd’s debut, Adalynn follows a mother fighting postpartum depression and slipping over the edge. It becomes hard to distinguish where depression ends, and her nightmares turn real, as she and her newborn are haunted by a stalker unlike any other. ‘Adalynn’ trades in a space between horror, fantasy, ghosts, demons, the Satanic occult and dreams. Jerrod D.Britto wrote the pic.
The film stars Sydney Carvill known for ‘Keep in the Dark’ (2022) and ‘Moon Students’ (2022), with Wade Baker of ‘Division 19’ (2017) and ‘Airliner Sky Battle’ (2020) and Janet Carter from ‘Revenge for My Mother’ (2022) and ‘Swim Instructor Nightmare’ (2022). Comedy rules are made to be broken. If all laughter comes from some great psychological misdirect, then it follows that the funniest series are the ones that continue to take the unexpected routes.
But sometimes a comedy is memorable because of the rules that it inadvertently puts in place. Some foundational TV series have endured not because they were ratings or cultural juggernauts in their time, but because their spiritual descendants dotted programming lineups years — maybe even decades — after their cameras stopped rolling. As in other realms of entertainment, the TV comedies that endure and that are worth revisiting manage to speak to something brewing in their day and the audiences watching generations after. Sometimes it’s a matter of seeing how much the idea of good governance has changed since some starry-eyed optimists in Indiana closed up shop just a few years ago. Other times, it’s recognizing how...

"We are defenders of the night. We are Gargoyles!" so begins every episode of the acclaimed '90s cartoon "Gargoyles," which even today feels like a miracle of television. A show with dense lore, complex and mature themes, a serialized story that nevertheless understood the importance of a good standalone episode and simply breathtaking action, "Gargoyles" was and remains like no other show.
Created by Greg Weisman for Disney Television Animation back in 1994, "Gargoyles" follows sentient, humanoid creatures with bat wings who get frozen in stone during the day. They once protected a medieval Scottish castle, until a betrayal killed most of them and froze the rest — who awoke in modern-day Manhattan. The show felt like a fantasy take on the "X-Men," with mythologies from all over influencing its deep lore, including Norse mythology and Arthurian legends, while a healthy dose of Shakesperean influence gave the story gravitas.

Polar bears are both a welcome and an unwelcome sight in the town of Churchill, Manitoba.
They’re welcome in the sense that each year the ursine creatures draw tourists to the area eager to see the bears as they migrate through Churchill on their way to winter feeding grounds on the Hudson Bay. And the tourists pour a lot of money into the local economy.
On the other hand, the bears create issues — at least ones that linger too long, attracted by the aroma of food from the local dump. It is the latter kind of animal that occupies the frame in the Oscar-shortlisted documentary Nuisance Bear. The short directed by Jack Weisman and Gabriela Osio Vanden is streaming at the NewYorker.com and on the New Yorker’s YouTube channel.

In their short nature documentary Nuisance Bear directing duo Jack Weisman and Gabriela Osio Vanden chronicle the plight of the polar bears’ migration through Churchill, Manitoba in Canada. Churchill is historically a very popular destination for documentarians to capture polar bears due to the intimacy afforded, which, in turn, makes it an obstacle course of photographers and filmmakers for the polar bears to navigate during their annual movement. Weisman and Vanden differentiate their film, however, from traditional observational docs by shifting the perspective away from the onlooker and onto the bears themselves as they become forced to journey through the crowds. Dn caught up with Weisman and Vanden as Nuisance Bear arrives online to talk over their decision to reject documentary norms to attain truth, the power imbalance between a filmmaker and their subject, and the future of their filmmaking partnership.

While considering the winning new Hulu comedy This Fool, the hardest question to answer is this: Who is the titular fool?
