Exclusive: Jake Coburn and Julie Plec, whose bank heist drama series The Endgame was picked up to series at NBC in September, have sold another project to the network with Arrow and Supergirl writer Emilio Ortega Aldrich.
The trio are developing Sky On Fire for NBC, which comes from Plec’s My So-Called Company and Universal Television.
The drama centers around President Eva Ortiz, a decorated war veteran and the nation’s first Latina president, who, after surviving an assassination attempt, embarks on an undercover mission to expose the people responsible.
It comes after Quantico exec producer Coburn struck a first-look deal with Universal Television in September, the same week that The Endgame, which he’s writing with Chuck exec producer Nicholas Wootton, was picked up to series.
Coburn, who is writing with Ortega Aldrich, is also exec producer on Netflix’s Biohackers and Barbarians.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve been kind of bummed that Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper hasn’t featured in any present-day scenes to date in Arrow‘s seventh season. Even though it’s cool to see him in the flash forward segments, I can’t be the only person dying to know what became of him after he left town with Thea Queen about a year ago.
Fortunately, that’ll change next week during “Confessions” when we’re guaranteed to see Arsenal circa 2019. Right now, details remain scarce regarding the reason for his return, though the network has made it known that Team Arrow requires his assistance with the Ninth Circle’s latest shenanigans.
On the downside, fortune won’t smile upon our heroes because the official synopsis promises that “things go awry and there is massive collateral damage.” My best guess is that Emiko Queen and her...

If you’ve been keeping up with Arrow news in recent weeks, then you’re well aware of how fan favorite actress Emily Bett Rickards is leaving the show at the end of the current season. Naturally, this has caused viewers to begin formulating their own theories as to how Felicity Smoak will make her exit, though we won’t know for certain until the time actually comes.
In my opinion, a series of events now unfolding will likely lead to her ultimately leaving Star City in order to raise her baby in seclusion. And from the look of it, the first domino fell last night during “Spartan.”
You see, the Archer program which Felicity had been developing fell into the wrong hands, those being the Ninth Circle’s. And though her friend and business partner, Alena, already had a buyer lined up in the form of Will Magnus (nice...

When it was announced last spring that Colton Haynes would be returning to Arrow as a series regular, it’s fair to assume that fans around the globe let out a small cheer upon reading the news. After all, not only is Roy Harper a beloved comic book character, but viewers really took to Haynes’ rendition of him.
Naturally, we assumed that Roy would reclaim the mantle of Arsenal and regroup with Team Arrow in the present, though that guess ultimately proved to be incorrect. Instead, he’s featured prominently in the flash forward segments, including last month’s trip to the future in “Star City 2040.”
Cool as all that is, I’d have felt cheated if Roy didn’t appear in at least one episode set during the present time. Fortunately, we know when his reunion with Oliver and company will occur – and it’s all thanks to the...

If anything, Arrow sure has been able to catch us off-guard when it comes to returning characters. Already, the current season has seen John Barrowman reprise his Malcolm Merlyn role – albeit during the “Elseworlds” crossover event – not to mention us finally seeing Lexa Doig’s Talia al Ghul resurfacing long after the blast on Lian Yu.
Believe it or not, it looks like Quentin Lance may soon add himself to the tally, too. If you’ll remember, he was killed off at the tail end of season 6, as actor Paul Blackthorne decided to pursue other opportunities. Even so, I guess he couldn’t resist staying away once he was afforded some free time.
Here’s what Blackthorne himself had to say on Twitter:

When it was originally announced that Arrow‘s 150th episode was titled “Emerald Archer,” I’d assumed that it would shed more light on Oliver’s estranged sister who’s become a vigilante in her own right. Fortunately, not much time was wasted in fleshing out her character, as the midseason premiere was re-titled “My Name is Emiko Queen” at the eleventh hour. Needless to say, the content reflected that.
Funny enough, “Emerald Archer” will instead air as a faux documentary focused squarely on Oliver, thereby allowing for us to see him through the eyes of those inhabiting this fictional universe. Not only that, but it’ll be narrated by none other than Kelsey Grammer! I bet you didn’t see that coming.
Obviously, some surprises are being saved for showtime – including that of a major character’s debut. Here’s what executive producer and showrunner Beth Schwartz told TV...

For the past few months, we’ve all been speculating on what’ll go down in Arrow‘s 150th episode. Seeing as how it’s titled “Emerald Archer,” it was only natural to assume that we could learn more about Oliver Queen’s estranged sister who shares a similar affinity for green leather outfits and compound bows. Of course, this was merely an educated guess.
To be honest, all we really knew about the milestone was that Stephen Amell said it was “so much fun” to film, and that other key members of the cast and crew touted it as being unlike any previous installment in the series. I thought those statements to be somewhat rooted in hyperbole at the time, but now it’s become clear that no exaggeration had been used.

It feels like just yesterday that Arrow aired its 100th episode, a milestone which actually arrived midway through the “Invasion!” crossover during the fall of 2016. And as memorable as that night was, a double-edged sword of sorts came along with it. In other words, the writers were tasked with honoring the 99 chapters to have preceded it, yet also had to make it a coherent part in a crossover.
Well, as it turns out, the 150th episode is almost upon us now. This time, though, the creative minds won’t have to worry about factoring Dominators into the story, as it looks to focus squarely on the heroes of Star City. In fact, we already have the title at our disposal.
You see, last night, executive producer and showrunner Beth Schwartz posted a picture of the script on Twitter (seen below), thereby letting us know how the episode in question will be titled “Emerald Archer.

The CW Seed has been the ancillary stomping grounds for animated versions of DC Comics’ Arrowverse characters, a chance to extend the brand with lesser-known heroes. For their third outing (after Vixen and Constantine), they smartly offered up Freedom Fighters: The Ray for two six-episode seasons, which have been edited together into a feature, on disc today from Warner Home Entertainment.
Although the two seasons arrived in December and July, they act as a prequel story to last fall’s “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover extravaganza. Here, we have the birth of the Freedom Fighters with appearances by not only the Ray but also Black Condor (Jason Mitchell), Phantom Lady (Dilshad Vadsaria), Dollman (Matthew Mercer) and Red Tornado (Iddo Goldberg). According to some behind the scenes shenanigans, the animated story was written first and when the four-parter was written for live-action, things weren’t lining up right, so the keen viewer...

To say that last night’s episode of Arrow was an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement. Not only did we have a fractured Team Arrow failing to procure Cayden James’ bomb, but we thought we’d finally seen the first hints at Black Siren redeeming herself – but then she had to go and kill Vigilante, someone who was actually on the path to redemption.
Of course, the actions of Earth-2’s Laurel Lance have made the second Black Canary, Dinah Drake, see only flames, thus forcing her to swear a blood oath in the name of her departed lover. And in addition to vowing to kill Black Siren, Dinah says she’ll put a bullet in each member of Cayden’s posse.
So, while Oliver Queen must contend with more attacks on his personal life, the first promo for next week’s episode gives us the slightest hint at a Black Canary unchained.

We, perhaps like you, were hoping that Earth-2’s Laurel Lance would be able to find some measure of redemption this season on Arrow, but it looks like that’s already proven to be an exercise in futility. If you’re current on the series’ happenings, then you’re well aware that she wasted no time in establishing herself as a public enemy when she carried out an attack on an Scpd precinct in the premiere episode.
Well, it looks like the immediate future won’t be any brighter for either the citizens of Star City or Team Arrow 2.0, because Black Siren will be back with a vengeance in next week’s offering, “Reversal.” Admittedly, not too much is known about what her next strike will entail because the synopsis originally released by the network was deliberately vague, and even the extended promo that can be viewed at the top...

After being forced to endure the long summer hiatus, we can now rest easy as each of our favorite DC shows have finally returned with a round of spectacular premieres. And now that the fall season is in full swing, we continue looking ahead, this time at episodes of Supergirl and Arrow set to air during Halloween week.
First, on Monday, October 30, Supergirl begins charting what’ll be surely be a strange journey for Odette Annable’s character of Samantha. Casually introduced to us in the season 3 premiere, we know that the seemingly average woman will go on to become Reign, this year’s big bad. Truth be told, the unassuming villain is something we’ve yet to see from this series, so we could have some great television ahead of us.
Continuing on that note, we also can’t help but draw parallels to Smallville‘s Davis Bloome, who was played by Sam Witwer.

After finally finding out that Prometheus is, in fact, Adrian Chase, Arrow fans were forced to endure a two-week period of sweet agony waiting for the next episode to get here. And although we now have only six days to go until “Checkmate” arrives, some images from the following installment, “Kapiushon,” have made their way online.
Aside from Prometheus continuing his unrelenting torture of Oliver Queen, we’re offered confirmation by way of these photos that Dolph Lundgren will indeed be reprising his role as Konstantin Kovar in episode 5.17. Not only that, but it looks like Oliver will be confronting him in his proto-Arrow suit in the flashback scenes.
Speaking of said costume, one can’t help but notice that it’s very similar to the one he donned in the first season, so he owes much thanks to Talia al Ghul for providing such stylish threads.

Yesterday the synopsis for Arrow's seventeenth episode for this season was released.
“The Breaking Point — Prometheus (Josh Segarra) goes to great lengths to break Oliver (Stephen Amell). Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl) becomes worried about Oliver’s increasingly violent tendencies, which come to a head in a brutal confrontation. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Brian Ford Sullivan & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#517). Original airdate 3/22/2017.”
The title of the episode Kapiushon loosely translates from Russian to "Hood or Cowl". With this synopsis and title it seems that this is when we will see Oliver in the flashbacks fully transform himself into the Hood. If you remember back in Season 1 Oliver's character was referred to as "The Hood". It wasn't until Season 2 that his character went by "The Arrow".

It’s not often that Oliver Queen and his cohorts venture overseas, so it goes without saying that we should all tune in for tonight’s episode of Arrow, “Bratva.” And if you’ve been following the series to this point, you know from that title we’re going to be seeing the titular hero’s past exploits with the Russian mafia come home to roost.
In the newly released sneak peek, we join Team Arrow 2.0 as they settle into their temporary digs after Oliver has apparently taken a punch to the face, probably courtesy of his old pal Anatoly. But what’s particularly exciting to see is that Dinah Drake, the new Black Canary, is already taking part in the action. Now begins the countdown to seeing her in full costume.

It’s not too often that Oliver Queen does some globe hopping outside of flashbacks, but when he does, odds are that something important will happen. As such, it’s highly recommended that you don’t miss next week’s episode of Arrow, which is naturally titled “Bratva.”
Now that Tina Boland has been revealed to be, in fact, Dinah Drake and is set to become the next Black Canary, she joins the gang as they head to the other side of the world and wastes no time getting in on the action. Aside from that, I’m interested to see if indeed Oliver’s alliance with Anatoly will become strained and if the latter will ever become KGBeast in this universe.

The CW’s DC TV offerings return next week, but the network has today released the official descriptions for the episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl which will air the week beginning February 6th. There aren’t too many major reveals here, but each of them sounds pretty fun in their own way.
First up is Supergirl. In an episode titled “The Martian Chronicles,” it sounds like we should expect the Girl of Steel to find herself caught in a crossfire between Martian Manhunter and the White Martians, the villainous alien race who wiped his people (and family) out on Mars.
White Martians Attack The Deo — Armek (guest star Terrell Tilford), a White Martian, descends on National City intent on taking M’gann (guest star Sharon Leal) back to Mars to face her punishment as a traitor. Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) determine the...

If you’re a fan of Arrow, WWE, or both, you’ll know that Stephen Amell made quite the impact in the squared circle last year when he took part in a tag team match at SummerSlam. That came about as part of a rivalry with WWE Superstar Stardust (a.k.a. Cody Rhodes), and while it looked like a rematch was on the cards, his departure from the company has made that impossible.
However, the two will once again come to blows in the third episode of Arrow‘s fifth season as Rhodes has landed his first major acting gig since leaving the WWE. He’ll be playing a formidable drug dealer in The CW series who may have some metahuman abilities if the brief glimpse we got of him in that recent trailer was any indication.

The CW has released a first look promo alongside a full gallery of images from the next instalment of Arrow, and it appears as if things in Star City are about to really heat up as we approach the finale. A lot of fans are still mad about the decision to kill off the Black Canary of course, but the ramifications from that will clearly continue to be felt in the series based on what we see here.

I'll be honest with you; I've given up on Arrow! The decision to kill off the underutilised Black Canary in order to keep the focus on Oliver's irritating sister and his unbearable relationship with Felicity was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back in a season which started off strong, but has become increasingly worse thanks to an underwhelming villain and those awful flashbacks. The CW has released the official descriptions for the episodes of Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow which will air during the week beginning May 2nd. Surprisingly, they feature some pretty major spoilers for what’s to come, but there will no doubt still be plenty of other twists and turns before each of these show’s respective seasons are over.
Starting with Arrow though, and there’s not much in the way of spoilers or anything of much interest to be perfectly honest. If anything, this instalment sounds a tad unexciting.

The first official images have been released from this week’s episode of Arrow, and they put the spotlight mostly on fan-favourite character Diggle and the complicated relationship he has with his brother. Based on what we see here, that’s about to get even worse, especially now that he’s under the “care” of Amanda Waller and A.R.G.U.S. rather than Team Arrow.
For further details, here’s the official synopsis for the episode – which is titled A.W.O.L. – courtesy of The CW:

David Ramsey’s Diggle has always been one of the best parts of Arrow, and the character has really come into his own in recent years. Both a father and costumed hero (at last!), he has a lot to deal with working with the Green Arrow, but this year has seen the fan-favourite tough guy pushed to the brink after he learned that his brother was still alive and part of Damien Darhk’s H.I.V.E. organization.
So far, Andy has seemingly remained loyal to his villainous boss, but it appears as if a major shake up is coming in the January 27th episode – titled “A.W.O.L.” – of the hit CW series:

Arrow Season 4, Episode 6 “Lost Souls”
Written by Beth Schwartz & Emilio Ortega Aldrich
Directed by Antonio Negret
Airs Wednesdays at 8pm Et on The CW
As Arrow‘s increasingly become an exercise in jumping through narrative hoops, each episode has felt overcrowded, only able to have a scene or two stick out and display the same quality of depth we saw back in season two, when it really felt like the show was firing on all cylinders. “Lost Souls” continues this trend in many ways – but most disturbing, perhaps, is how it loses its main character in the midst of bringing Ray Palmer back, and sending Sara off on another adventure. And the more Arrow continues to hijack Oliver Queen to serve other priorities, the less effective its increasingly convoluted narrative is going to be.

The CW has released the first clip from tomorrow night’s episode of Arrow, and it picks up with Felicity desperately trying to discover what’s happened to Ray Palmer. The closing moments of the last instalment of Arrow featured the reveal that The Atom is still alive, something which won’t surprise anyone who has seen so much as a single poster for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Still, the story behind how he survived and how he ended up in the hands of the villainous Damien Darhk definitely promises to be very interesting, as does how he’ll factor into Arrow moving forward.
