Jon Hamm is back and better than ever with his take on “Fletch” in “Confess, Fletch.”
Based on a 1976 novel of the same name by Gregory McDonald (which was turned into a few movies starring Chevy Chase), the latest adaptation follows Fletch as he tries to solve an art theft, before getting involved in a murder investigation as well. The former investigative journalist begrudgingly comes out of retirement to pursue a number of leads, including his girlfriend.
If you’re wondering how to watch “Confess, Fletch,” we’ve got the answers to all your questions.

Stars: Tom Berenger, Kristen Hager, Paul Ben-Victor, Jimmy LeBlanc, Mark Sivertsen, Brian Duffy, Ace Gibson, Ryan Homchick, Caroline Portu, Erica McDermott | Written and Directed by John Barr
Retired war veteran Jim Reed (Berenger) heads out on a hunting trip in the Allagash backcountry of Maine but when an accident finds him face-to-face with the corpse of a dead woman and a duffle bag packed with stolen money he soon finds himself in a web of deceit and murder. Fighting both extreme cold and a gang of bloodthirsty bank robbers, Reed must put all of his military training into action in an ice-cold game of cat-and-mouse.
The debut feature for cinematographer John Barr, Blood and Money is clearly modelled after the films of the Coen Brothers but without any of the style or panache of that duos film – Barr seemingly thinking the noir-ish characters and snowy setting are what mark out the Coen’s work.

Seeing somewhat of a resurgence lately on the indie circuit with The Neon Demon and The Bad Batch, as well on the action side with John Wick, Keanu Reeves also found time for a courtroom drama. The Whole Truth, which we actually got a glimpse at earlier this year thanks to a spring release in Japan, will hit U.S. theaters next month and a new trailer has landed.
Frozen River director Courtney Hunt is following her acclaimed 2008 feature with this project, which sees Reeves portray a lawyer defending a man who killed his father — himself the lawyer’s former client. While this looks more conventional than her last film, hopefully Hunt continues to conjure a strong dramatic pull with Keeves in the lead.
Also starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw Renée Zellweger, Gabriel Basso, Jim Belushi, Kenneth Choi, Sean Bridgers, and Erica McDermott, check out the trailer below.

Kenneth Lonergan is perhaps one of the most highly respected writer-directors working today – and yet his cinematic output is less than prolific. While he has penned a number of screenplays, the upcoming Manchester By The Sea is only his third time at the helm, after 2000’s You Can Count On Me and 2011’s Margaret. Arguably, a lot of that will be connected to the protracted legal battles that surrounded the edit and release of his second film – originally scheduled for release in 2007 – but thankfully, no such drama engulfed Manchester By The Sea.
The premise is simple – a man is faced with the task of caring for his teenage nephew after the death of his older brother – but being a Kenneth Lonergan film, we get much more than that. Using this sparse thread, the filmmaker weaves a rich tale that contemplates life, death, and everything in between, in a movie that...

Now, we do admit that a Keanu Reeves-led legal thriller that’s been scheduled to open on the other side of the planet before getting so much as U.S. distribution is a dicey proposition, expectations-wise – but we also love the actor and notice there’s a decent supporting pedigree, and I, myself, think titles of this particular mold are in short supply nowadays. What’s the worst that could happen?
We might have some idea when The Whole Truth opens in Japan at March’s end. Frozen River director Courtney Hunt is following her acclaimed 2008 feature with this project, which sees Reeves portray a lawyer defending a man who killed his father — himself the lawyer’s former client. You won’t glean much of that from the first preview, which is both short and filled with Japanese voiceover, so take this as a reminder that something of potential value,...

'Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials' with Dylan O'Brien. 'Maze Runner 2' to beat Johnny Depp 'Black Mass' The 20th Century Fox release Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the sequel to the 2014 hit The Maze Runner, and Warner Bros.' Johnny Depp star vehicle Black Mass will be battling it out at the North American box office this coming weekend, Sept. 18-20, the last (astronomical) summer weekend of 2015. According to Variety, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials will “likely” end up at the top of the U.S. and Canada box office chart. In fact, more than just “likely,” in case tracking is on target. Including Thursday evening shows, Maze Runner 2 is expected to collect somewhere around $35 million from 3,790 sites, while Black Mass should take in $22 million or so from 3,188 theaters. 'Maze Runner 2' vs. 'The Maze Runner' Maze Runner 2 will then open only about 10 percent ahead of the original,...

When Scott Cooper’s Black Mass was announced, many criticized the mobster drama for seemingly glorifying the reign of terror that James “Whitey” Bulger carried out across the city of Boston for years even while working as an FBI informant to take down the Italian mob. And, unfortunately, the first full trailer for the pic likely won’t do much to set their minds at ease.
Though Johnny Depp’s transformative portrayal of the gangster certainly paints him as an unsavory, sadistic character, the preview makes the mistake of soundtracking the gangster’s apparent invincibility and penchant for brutality with Yelawolf’s “Till It’s Gone,” a pulse-pounding track that romanticizes the dangerous nature of his criminal lifestyle.
Still, though Black Mass isn’t looking like the most sensitive treatment of Bulger’s story, especially given that the families of many of his victims still grieve and suffer today as...

David O. Russell's The Fighter is based on the true story of Micky Ward, a stepping-stone boxer, and his older brother Dick Eklund, whose claim to fame was dropping Sugar Ray Leonard several years and many crackpipe hits long ago. Because it's beholden to the framework of Ward's technical boxing style and the fights he fought, the story has a tendency to lag and meander. But what elevates it to championship status is the acting, because it's kind of ecstatically horrifying to watch Christian Bale and Melissa Leo tear themselves and everyone else apart. Ultimately, the family dynamic and the bitter squabble of this destructive family is what makes The Fighter worth watching.
A documentary crew is filming Dick Eklund (Christian Bale) for his supposed comeback. Meanwhile, he's training his kid half-brother Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg), a slugger with a fierce hook who most promoters book to boost their more promising fighters.
