- Allan Donald was born on October 20, 1966 in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa.
- Applied zinc powder across his cheeck and nose when bowling and fielding.
- Played Cricket for South Africa team (1991 - 2003) Orange Free State (1985 - 2004) Warwickshire (1987 - 2000) and Worcestershire (2002).
- Debuted in South Africa's first test against West Indies post readmission at Barbados in 1992, taking figures of 4/77 and 2/67. South Africa however lost the test.
- He was left stranded at the non-striker's end during the epic semi-final of the 1999 World Cup against Australia, resulting in a run-out and the match ended in a tie. Since Australia had beaten South Africa during the Super Sixes, it proceeded to the finals.
- Voted the 2nd greatest ODI bowler by Wisden in 2001, behind only Pakistan's Wasim Akram, whom Donald reckons to be his favorite fast bowler.
- Picked up bowling figures of 5/21 against India on his ODI debut.
