Although there was lamentably no new episode of Supergirl to speak of this week, you can rest assured that the series will return with a vengeance in four days when Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo make their long awaited arrivals (okay, we’re not quite counting their cameo at the end of a recent episode).
When the trailer for “Star-Crossed” originally dropped, it quickly became apparent that the characters those two are playing have some kind of connection to Mon-El, who has been harboring a secret for the wealth of this season. And considering that he was addressed as “prince of Daxam,” many of us have put two and two together, assuming they could possibly be his parents.
This is further supported by the captions The CW applied to the official images released from said episode, labeling Sorbo as “Lar Gand” and Hatcher as “Rhea.” Those...

Aside from the Girl of Steel herself, Supergirl has introduced us to a fair few aliens since launching back in 2015. However, while the likes of J’onn J’onzz and the White Martians have impressed, most of them have been humanoid in appearance. Now, that looks set to change in Kevin Smith’s upcoming episode of The CW series, which is titled “Supergirl Lives.”
Identified as Maaldorians, they’re certainly pretty interesting looking (see the photo below), but it’s important to note that they don’t hail from the comic books. As such, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from this lot and before getting too excited about what they’ll be up to, we should note that they may only have a very minor role in Supergirl. Although, with the episode set to take place in an alien fight club of sorts, we’ll probably see...

In addition to having some thrilling adventures in the comics, Supergirl looks to kick off the second leg of its sophomore season in style. Thanks to the one and only Kevin Smith serving as the director for the midseason premiere, “Supergirl Lives,” we expect it to be nothing short of amazing.
Just days ago, we were treated to some cool new images from said episode, but this freshly released extended trailer makes the wait for the show’s return ever so hard to endure. Aside from Roulette, whom we already knew would be appearing, the footage confirms the return of Livewire. Not only that, but we can expect to see some Dominator action, and something tells me these aren’t the ones from the DC TV crossover, but rather those unique to Kara’s universe.

The first images from the midseason premiere of Supergirl have been revealed today and they’re particularly exciting as for this installment, Kevin Smith is at the helm. The filmmaker has directed two episodes of The Flash, but this marks his first entry into the world of the Girl of Steel in the appropriately titled “Supergirl Lives.” We say that because as you may already know, Smith was hired to pen the screenplay for Superman Lives, one of the many movies starring the iconic DC Comics superhero which never reached the big screen.
For more on what to expect from this episode of Supergirl, here’s the recently released synopsis courtesy of The CW:
Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr’s (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone.
