Art Deco, flapper dresses and pearls are all the rage as fashion takes inspiration from movie set in the Roaring Twenties
When Baz Luhrmann's remake of The Great Gatsby takes the prestigious opening slot at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival in May, style-watchers are predicting a visual feast that will turn many back on to the 1920s.
Every few years, a film comes along that proves to be a source of sartorial inspiration: from Audrey Hepburn's gamine princess in Roman Holiday and Diane Keaton's androgynous style in Annie Hall, to the colonial style that swept the catwalks in the mid-80s, heavily influenced by Karen Blixen's cinematic safari in Out of Africa.

London -- The dress worn by Amy Winehouse on the cover of the late singer's Grammy-winning "Back to Black" album has sold for over 43,000 pounds ($67,120) at auction.
Kerry Taylor Auctions says the polka-dot chiffon dress, designed in 2006, was purchased by Musea de la Moda – a fashion museum in Santiago, Chile – for 43,200 pounds.
It said the dress's designer, Disaya, agreed to donate proceeds from the sale to a foundation set up in Winehouse's name.
Winehouse's father, Mitch, attended the auction and called the donation a "wonderful start to the foundation," which was set up to help vulnerable youth following Winehouse's death in July.
A British coroner ruled the singer, known for her beehive hairdos, drank herself to death.

After Amy Winehouse died in July, we were certain her inimitable style -- the beehive, that eyeliner -- would live on forever in fashion magazines and runway inspirations.
But we had no idea that her dresses would stick around -- and for such a high price! CBS News reports that the white chiffon dress Winehouse wore on her "Back To Black" cover album sold at auction for 43,200 pounds, or about $67,500.
That's four times more than the predicted amount and a staggering sum for a single dress.
To put the number in perspective, Elizabeth Taylor's gold sari, which she wore when in 1964 as a newlywed to Richard Burton, sold for around 30,000 pounds.
(Incidentally, Winehouse once invoked Liz herself when shooting a Harper's Bazaar editorial. But she said she didn't want to look like her -- "She had purple eyes. That's weird.")
