The heartfelt awards, presentations, and performances raised over $1.75 million for rare disease education, awareness, advocacy, and patient scholarships to access programs. Of the total funds raised, more than $75,000 was donated through an on-stage ask at the Saturday evening event in direct support for the Global Genes Rare Patient Impact Grant Program.

On the 18th of August the UK sees the release of Everything Everything, a heartfelt exploration of young love under the shadow of a debilitating illness. Based on the young adult book by Nicola Yoon, the film makes its way over to these shores following a decent turn overseas, and last month James Kleinmann sat down to talk to the leading cast and the director.
First he spoke to Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson about building their relationship on film, making the leap from blockbusters to indie films and how they found working within the Ya genre.
James was able to talk with to Anika Noni Rose & Ana de la Reguera about what drew them to film, the originality and the whimsical romance, as well as the maternal dynamic created within the four central roles. He also found out which movie they can each return to time and time again,...

This Memorial Day Weekend isn't on fire at the movies. Nobody much cares about Baywatch (which is neither exciting like an action movie or funny like a comedy, but can still be amply defined as an "action comedy") and a new Pirates of the Caribbean is getting only the usual flock of lemming moviegoers for an established franchise and no one else. This is, by a very wide margin, the worst opening for a Pirates sequels. Elsewhere in sequel land the news isn't much better. Alien Covenant is the least popular Alien film yet if you adjust for inflation (and dont count those Predator crossovers because why would you?). Will Wonder Woman turn things around next week for audience interest or is counterprogramming that Big Hollywood rarely does anymore what they actually needed to do this very summer?

Last year’s Me Before You had to be the number one ‘chick flick’ (sorry, romantic drama) of the year despite the controversy of its subject. Warner Bros. are looking to up the romance stakes in Everything, Everything and lo and behold they have chosen Valentine’s Day to release its trailer… how cliché!
Everything, Everything sees The Hunger Games very own Amandla Stenberg as Maddy, a teenage girl kept in the confines of her own home because of an illness she has which means she cannot go outside. Along comes the boy next door in the form of Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) as Olly and without even officially meeting falls for his charming texts – well that’s what we can gather from the trailer.

In just a few days, we’ll know the 12 albums under consideration for the 2015 Mercury Prize. The bookies’ early frontrunners for the shortlist include Everything Everything, Jamie Xx and Florence and the Machine, but whoever makes the cut, it’s sure to divide music fans.
In past years we’ve had shock winners (including 2014’s victors, Young Fathers); in others we’ve seen the safest, blandest album on the list somehow coming out on top. On more than one occasion though, truly awful records have triumphed over great ones; and some shortlists have had four or five stone cold classics slogging it out with each other.
But will 2015 be another year where a future classic album walks away empty handed on the night? Because it’s happened many times before…...

Every sport’s game needs a great soundtrack to please the ears while the TV screen takes care of your eyes, and FIFA 16‘s no different.
Today, EA’s Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing, Steve Schnur, has revealed the complete soundtrack for the game that’ll you be playing along to. A wide range of musical genres are included, as Schnur is keen to emphasize:
FIFA has traditionally been gaming’s foremost international showcase for new artists of every genre and with FIFA 16, we’ve once again created a soundtrack that will enable millions of fans worldwide to discover new music they might have never heard otherwise.
Artists like Kygo and Aurora from Norway, X-Wife from Portugal, Bomba Estereo from Colombia, The Very Best from Malawi and the UK, Baiana System from Brazil and Raury from America do more than just enhance a great game. FIFA 16 represents globalized music as its very best.
