With Covid resurgence meaning that only the naughty are likely to risk large gatherings this holiday season, there will be even more reliance on home-viewing comfort food in the vein of “The Princess Switch: Switched Again.” Bringing back the same director, writers and lead actors from Netflix’s original 2018 success, this pleasant sequel provides the updated “Prince and the Pauper” conceit a new wrinkle in giving star Vanessa Hudgens yet a third lookalike character to play.
Though inevitably the formula wears a little thinner in spots this time, it’s a frothy fantasy that should satisfy viewers’ itch for confectionary-looking Christmas fluff. Netflix premieres the feature worldwide Nov. 19, and it should provide them with a year-end programming staple for some time to come.

Emmerdale's Eric Pollard has been named as the unhealthiest character in soap.
In 62% of scenes, Eric (Chris Chittell) either has a drink in his hand or he's talking about his next livener. The study was made by Liverpool's John Moores University for the Co-operative store.
Senior British Heart Foundation cardiac nurse Doireann Maddock said: "If Eric wants to reduce his risk of that second heart attack, he needs to spend less time in the Woolpack and more enjoying brisk walks in the Dales – and eating plenty of fruit and veg."
Emmerdale was top of the unhealthy list, while EastEnders came in at second as 87% of the food shown on the programme is deemed bad for the heart.
Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb (Ricky Norwood) was Walford's worst, with his meals of peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is also deemed unhealthy for adding salt to his soup.

EastEnders character Billy Mitchell will carry the Olympic torch on the show. The hapless East Londoner, who is portrayed by actor Perry Fenwick, will be granted his long-term wish when he runs the torch through fictional Albert Square on July 23 next year, just before the Olympic opening ceremony on July 27. Fenwick told The Mirror: "When we first discussed the storyline, my initial thought was that I'll now have to get fit. "While this may be a fictional one-off for Billy Mitchell, it's a real once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I am thrilled that Walford and Albert Square will be part of this amazing event." Billy and fellow EastEnder character Fatboy (Ricky Norwood) were both initially in the running for the torchbearer role, but Fenwick won the opportunity. London 2012 chairman Lord Sebastian (more)...

EastEnders star Shona McGarty has admitted that her character Whitney Dean still prefers to date bad boys. Whitney has been in a relationship with Fatboy Chubb (Ricky Norwood) in recent weeks, but she remains secretly attracted to local womaniser Tyler Moon. McGarty told Inside Soap's Yearbook 2012: "I personally think that it'd be lovely if Whitney and Fatboy could live happily ever after in Walford. Deep down though, I reckon that Whitney knows that Tyler's actually the guy for her. She does like her bad boys, doesn't she? "Tyler's not that bad in reality of course, but he still has that little bit of an edge - like Billie Jackson did when she was going out with him. I think she knows Tyler is going to be the one for her." The actress (more)...

EastEnders star Tony Discipline has insisted that his character Tyler Moon would be a perfect match for troubled Whitney Dean. Whitney is currently at the centre of a love triangle storyline on the BBC show as both Tyler and Fatboy Chubb (Ricky Norwood) have feelings for her. "Then other people come up and they're like, 'Fatboy will be a lot nicer to her'. Yeah, he's a safer bet, but it's all down to what Whit wants - the safer bet or the man she's destined to be with."
