How far would you go for the one you love? That’s a tagline that’s been tethered to umpteen drama/thriller/crime flicks over the years, where a character is thrust into such a perilous situation that it leaves their significant other with little choice but to maneuver around a series of obstacles – both literal and figurative – to ensure their safety.
Another movie to hew close those hackneyed conventions is this summer’s heist movie Collide, an action-packed romp that finds Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men: Apocalypse) in the role of Casey Stein, an Average Joe who is ready to risk life and limb to save his ailing girlfriend, Juliette (Felicity Jones).
In order to afford those astronomical medical bills for a kidney transplant, Hoult’s protagonist returns to a life he thought was far behind him – smuggling precious cargo for a group of powerful mob bosses.

"Is it dangerous?" "What kind of question is that?!" Open Road Films has unveiled the first trailer for the action thriller Collide, starring Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones. This isn't the same as that sci-fi film Collider, instead it's a rather generic-looking action movie with a stellar cast. Besides Hoult & Jones, the cast includes Anthony Hopkins (as a mob boss) and Ben Kingsley (looking wacko), plus Nadia Hilker and Clemens Schick. The story is about an American backpacker caught up in a drug smuggling ring while trying to pull off a heist, taking him "on the run from his employers across Munich's high-speed Autobahn." If that doesn't interest you, I'm not sure what else will. This does look like it may be entertaining. Fire it up. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Eran Creevy's Collide, originally from Yahoo: After a heist goes terribly wrong, Casey Stein (Hoult) finds...

"If you don't give us the information we need, I'm sure she will..." Wow. This is quite an epic trailer for what may turn out to be a simple action movie, but damn. That music! Collide is an action-thriller from director Eran Creevy about an American backpacker, played by Nicholas Hoult, who gets involved with a ring of drug smugglers as their driver. The film's title in this trailer is Autobahn, which is the international title for this, and also the setting of the final action scene where he encounters his employers on Munich's highways with no speed limit. The very eclectic cast includes a blonde Felicity Jones, Nadia Hilker, plus surprisingly somehow Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley as villains. You don't want to miss this tease. Here's the first international trailer for Eran Creevy's Collide, found on YouTube (via The Film Stage): After a heist goes terribly wrong,...

One of the many projects caught amidst the maelstrom that is Relativity’s bankruptcy is Eran Creevy’s (Welcome to the Punch) action vehicle Collide. Indeed, the jury’s still out on when we’ll get to see the director’s bombastic feature in theaters, with a distributor yet to swoop in to pick up the rights for the film – and going off today’s first trailer, we’re not too surprised.
Harsh though that may be, Creevy’s Collide‘s first clip is a mish-mash of action genre tropes blended into one semi-coherent whole. Starring Mad Max: Fury Road and Kill Your Friends alum Nicholas Hoult, the heist thriller has him play Casey Stein, a rookie thief who finds himself in deep with the sharks when a routine smash-and-grab spirals out of control.
On the run and seeking cover, Casey makes a desperate, last-ditch attempt to contact his former...

Update: Open Road has picked up the film for an April 1st, 2016 release. See the original story below.
Once set to be released this month, Autobahn (aka Collide) is now missing from the slate due to Relativity Media’s financial collapse, but with an international release around the corner, we now have the first trailer. Coming from Welcome to the Punch director Eran Creevy, the action thriller stars Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Ben Kingsley and Anthony Hopkins.
The plot, mapped out by the helmer and co-scribe F. Scott Frazier, follows an American tourist who ends up working with some Turkish toughs but, unsurprisingly, winds up in trouble. Before long, the man and his girlfriend seek to free themselves from any perilous entanglements while running through Munich.
The first trailer seems to favor its global action audience over viewers looking for dramatic tension, but that’s to be expected considering its an international preview.

It's not clear when we'll get to see "Collide" —formerly known as "Autobahn"— as it's one of those movies caught up in Relativity's bankruptcy woes, but one thing is clear: this hardly looks like a movie that would've been a financial boon. The first teaser for the movie is here, so you better buckle up. Eran Creevy ("Welcome To The Punch") directs this movie about a young man on the run from a mob boss, while....does it matter? We've seen the variation on this story a million times before. Anthony Hopkins shows up take his Hannibal Lecter-esque persona for yet another spin, Ben Kingsley is similarly slumming, and the immensely talented Felicity Jones should've chosen better. And leading it all the way is Nicholas Hoult.
