Sixty-two year-old Wayne Simmons was once a frequent and strident guest "terrorism expert" for Fox News, until he was arrested and charged with fraud for faking his CIA and military credentials for personal gain. Well, Simmons' transition from Fox News green room to federal prison cell is now complete, as a federal judge sentenced Simmons on Friday to 33 months in federal prison for his crimes.

Wayne Simmons, a recurring guest on Fox News who claimed to have 27 years of experience with the CIA, was arrested Thursday on charges of falsifying his credentials with the CIA, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.
Simmons, 62, frequently described as a "former CIA "operative" on the network, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of lying that he worked as an "outside paramilitary special operations officer" for the CIA from 1973 to 2000.
He was also indicted with using that story to obtain government security clearances and an assignment as a defense contractor. If convicted, Simmons...

Fox News guest Wayne Simmons, whom the network credited as a CIA operative, was arrested on Thursday after being indicted by a federal grand jury for lying about his CIA service. Simmons claimed he worked as an “outside paramilitary special operations officer” for the CIA from 1973 to 2000; that apparently wasn’t true. He’s also accused of leveraging his false credentials to become a defense contractor, in which he advised military personnel globally. Simmons allegedly wrote false claims on national security forms, saying he’d been arrested and convicted in the past because of his CIA service. Also Read: Fox News...

Author and former CIA operative Wayne Simmons sat down with the hosts of Fox & Friends on Wednesday to join many of his CIA colleagues in slamming the authenticity of the torture tactics depicted in the movie Zero Dark Thirty. In particular, he took issue with the prolific use of waterboarding in the film, saying that this is not a torture tactic but a valuable technique used to gain information from uncooperative terror suspects.

In the decade or so since author David Moody first unleashed Autumn, his original and innovative take on the zombie apocalypse, which has since spawned four sequels, a radio adaptation, and a feature film starring Dexter Fletcher and Kung Fu legend David Carradine. He has become the champion of the contemporary literary horror scene thanks largely to his one man revolution in the way new fiction is promoted on the internet. That he has written a brace of brilliant books as well is the icing on the cake.
It is fitting, then, that he has been the inspiration for a new, free, horror author convention, Autumn: Horror In The East, that will be taking place in Lowestoft, Suffolk on 2nd and 3rd November this year. Joining Moody at this seaside soirée will be over a dozen other authors, both up and coming and well established, including Wayne Simmons, Jasper Bark,...

Back in 2005 a little-known British horror writer published a series of books under his own publishing banner, Infected Books. These books, collectively called the Autumn Series, had already created quite a sensation when the author, David J. Moody, made them available for download and nearly half a million people did so. Now some big publishing houses have taken note, and on October 26th St. Martin’s will be publishing the first book in the series, Autumn (in the UK Gollancz will be bringing the book out October 28th).
Moody is also the author of Hater, which has been optioned by Guillermo del Toro, and its sequel, Dog Blood. This is a guy all horror readers should take note of.
Dread Central recently had the opportunity to interview the prolific writer and find out a bit more what he has in store for us Autumn fans. We have been warned...
