Preacher is one of my favorite series currently running on TV and it's going to be released on Blu-ray and DVD October 4.
The first season takes a while to get going, mostly because of character development but it really gets going. Lots of gore and is damned hilarious in spots. Very interesting characters as well. Can't wait for season 2. Read more about the upcoming release below.

Based on the popular 1990s cult comic book series of the same name, the critically-acclaimed Preacher: Season One arrives on Blu-ray™ and DVD October 4 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The darkly comedic, hard-hitting, supernatural thrill-ride follows Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, TV’s “Agent Carter,” Captain America: The First Avenger) who, after a supernatural event at his church, is thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

AMC has released the first four and a half minutes of their upcoming new series Preacher, which is based on the comic book by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon. This clip gives you an idea of how insane this series is going to be and shows you that they are not going hold back on this thing.
The show comes to us from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who seem to have done an awesome job bringing this story to life for television. I've already seen the full first episode and it was wicked fun.
This is a series that you will not want to miss because it’s so much damn fun. I loved the first episode, and I can’t wait to see the story continue as the series plays out. You can read our review of the first episode of the series here.

Praise be! AMC‘s Preacher (premiering Sunday, May 22, 10/9c) might be just the series that fans of The Walking Dead have been complaining for two years now that Fear the Walking Dead isn’t.
Based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the sparky supernatural dramedy circles Jesse Custer (ultra-charismatic Dominic Cooper), a reformed bad boy around whose neck his clergyman’s collar fits like a noose. But he’s got no choice but to stick with the pulpit: He promised his ill-fated father that he’d grow up to be a good guy, “’cause there’s...

Chris Hardwick is certainly keeping his "Talking" seat warm.
The host of "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead" after-show "Talking Dead," and "Better Call Saul" after-show "Talking Saul," and "Breaking Bad" after-show "Talking Bad," will soon lead another live post-show discussion, this time for AMC's new comic book adaptation, "Preacher." However, as for "Saul," it's just for two very special episodes.
"Preacher" premieres with a 90-minute episode this Sunday, May 22 at 10 p.m. Et, after the midseason finale of "Fear." The new after-show "Talking Preacher" will debut Memorial Day weekend, on Sunday, May 29 at 10:30 p.m., following an encore airing of the "Preacher" pilot episode. Series star Dominic Cooper and executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin will be the "Talking Preacher" guests.

AMC has released a promo still for their upcoming small-screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s ultra-violent (and seriously messed up in various other ways) comic series, Preacher, and it gives us a new look at Jesse Custer’s Irish vampire pal, Cassidy, which should make fans of the source material very happy indeed.
Aside from a few brief glimpses in the trailers, this is the first time we’ve seen Cassidy wearing his trademark shades, and flashing the equal-parts terrifying and hilarious grin he’s known for.
In addition, the network has announced that we’ll be getting all-new look at the show during the season 2 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead. Whether that’s a full trailer, TV promo or an actual clip remains to be seen, but we’re certainly excited.
Preacher also stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse, Ian Colleti as Eugene “Arseface” Root, W. Earl Brown...

AMC may have another Walking Dead-sized hit on its hands with graphic novel adaptation Preacher – or at least that was the impression out of SXSW, where the pilot screened to rapturous praise.
The series isn’t premiering until May, but stars Dominic Cooper and Ruth Negga were among those in attendance at a WonderCon panel for the show, where AMC unveiled the striking, unnerving first look at Ian Colletti’s take on Eugene “Arseface” Root, one of the comic’s most distinctive figures.
In the original comic, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon in 1995, Eugene was a young boy whose failed suicide attempt left him with a horrifically disfigured face. Despite his unfortunate circumstances, the boy retained a sunny, kind disposition, and idolized local preacher Jesse Custer (Cooper), though a past transgression left him convinced that God had turned against him.

Taking up the mantle as Jesse Custer, the evangelical practitioner at the heart of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s source material, is Dominic Cooper, a chain-smoking exorcist ready to deal with the best and worst that Heaven, Hell and everything else in between throws at him. We’ll be getting the very first trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s small-screen adaptation of Garth Ennis’ controversial comic series, Preacher, this Sunday night during an extended episode of The Walking Dead, and in anticipation of that, AMC has released a very brief teaser.
It all goes by in a matter of seconds, but if you slow things down you’ll see a few very interesting snippets of footage. Readers of the DC Vertigo comic will likely recognize what appears to be Jesse Custer falling from a plane, Irish Vampire Cassidy getting a little sun before indulging in a spot of murder, Custer’s congregation being engulfed in flames, and then the Texas preacher beating the crap out of some local yokels.
Check out the synopsis for the AMC series below:

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s small-screen adaptation of Garth Ennis’ Preacher is set to air sometime next year, though no exact date has been announced. Thus far, we’ve had some set snaps and a promo poster (see above) to feast our eyes on, but not so much as an official character image – and yet the first trailer will be with us next week.
AMC has announced that we’ll see the very first footage from the show on November 1st during a special 90-minute long episode of The Walking Dead, which is expected to include a Morgan flashback. The network’s press release also includes a Preacher synopsis, and from the sounds of it, the basic premise of this take, at least, will be faithful to Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s source material.
AMC is bringing fans “The Walking Dead Mega Sunday” event on November 1st at 9:00 p.

Seth Rogen, along with co-writers Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, is hard at work getting ready to unveil his small-screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s brilliant, but controversial comic series to the world, as Preacher will premiere on AMC next year.
We’ve obviously had the casting announcements and the occasional behind-the-scenes image etc., but we haven’t really heard that much about the specifics of the plot and the alterations being made to the source material… until now.
While speaking to Crave Online, Rogen went into some detail regarding the adaptation process, and admits that although they’re staying as true as possible to the spirit of the comic, changes are inevitable, and some of the more graphic elements will be left out entirely.
We are changing the specifics of how the narrative is unfolding. A lot of the building blocks we are not changing, a...

Seth Rogen has revealed that his take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s controversial DC Vertigo comic series, Preacher, has been given a series order at AMC, and he’s also posted the key art seen below to his Twitter page. Apparently, it’s a 10-episode order and the show is expected to launch mid-2016.
Rogen is developing Preacher for the small screen with Evan Goldberg, who directed the pilot, and Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad), who wrote the script and will serve as showrunner. The story follows a small-town Texan preacher named Jesse Custer who finds himself possessed by the spawn of a demon and an angel, which gives him incredible powers and an insight into God’s mindset. He teams up with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and a hard-drinking Irish Vampire named Cassidy to track down his maker and hold him accountable for abandoning his post in Heaven.

A visitor to the set of AMC's Preacher adaptation has posted a few cheeky snaps to his Facebook page. As you can see we get nice, clear looks at both Joseph Gilgun as Proinsias Cassidy sans his trademark sunglasses, and Ian Colleti as Arseface sans... the horrific, drooling mess for a mush he has in the comics. To be fair, Seth Rogen and co. were probably always going to tone that down a bit for this TV series. Aside from these a few other behind-the-scenes images we've yet to see anything official from Preacher, but it shouldn't be long now. Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip O'Hare, Joe Gilgun as Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Arseface, Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla Quinncannon and Jamie Anne Allman and Derek Wilson as Betsy and Donny Schenck. We still don't know who'll play the Saint Of Killers,...

From comic-book adaptations to sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Here are the new geek-skewed shows coming to Us TV in 2016...
The world of TV has never been so crowded and, at the same time, geeks have never had it so good. As saturated as the big screen is with superhero films and sprawling shared universes, that mentality has well and truly bled onto the small screen too.
So there’s a lot of comic-book adaptations coming up in 2016 from Marvel, DC and others, but genre TV is represented across the board with science-fiction, fantasy and horror represented at pretty much every network and cable channel in the Us.
Here's some of the geek TV that will be making its way to us from the Us next year.

Aside from that first pic of Jesse chatting with Arseface, Seth Rogen hasn't really posted anything too revealing from the set of AMC's Preacher, but there are still a few interesting images popping up on the actor's Twitter feed from time to time. Below you can see the devastation caused from a downed helicopter, Jesse Custer's favourite brand of cigarettes (though his "Fuck Communism" lighter is absent), and a teasing shot of the good Reverend himself. Hopefully as filming continues we'll begin to get some better snaps, and maybe a first look at Joe Gilgun as Cassidy. So what have we here then? Until Rogen gives us something else to go us, your guess is as good as mine... but it certainly appears to be a couple of slightly sinister looking nuns outside a church. Is this where the Reverend Jesse Custer preaches to his doomed congregation before his fateful meeting with Genesis? Only time will tell. We also have an unofficial set pic, giving us our first proper look at Dominic Cooper as Custer. #Preacher pic.twitter.com/OlKTKVlfhj — Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) May 22, 2015 Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip O'Hare, Joe Gilgun as Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Arseface, Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla Quinncannon and Jamie Anne Allman and Derek Wilson as Betsy and Donny Schenck. We still don't know who'll play the Saint Of Killers, but he's definitely in the show....right?...
