A year of waiting and attempting a showstopper in our own kitchens without the patient guidance of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood is over.
The Great British Bake Off is back - and it's everything we'd hope it would be.
Madeira, walnut cake and black forest gateaux were the challenges in Week One - all completed to, shall we say, varying levels of success.
Digital Spy was watching Twitter during the show and has gathered the (mostly innuendo-filled) comments viewers had on Gbbo's return.
Early on, it was clear that a spot on the sofa at 8pm tonight was a top priority for many:
I watch the Great British Bake Off for the deceit and sabotage. Still waiting.

Currently thinking that entering the great British bake off is probably a more realistic goal than getting into uni

This show has helped me create so many wonderful cakes.

We were sure that the only people who would be real fans of Amy Childs were men, who appreciated her aesthetic appeal.
However Stylejacking.com has a picture of The Only Way Is Essex star being mobbed by young girls as she left a hair salon earlier this week.
Amy, 20, had just finished having her hair styled when the pack of schoolgirls surrounded her and asked for her autograph. We have to ask how they knew who she was and what sort of parent would let girls of primary school age watch the vapid series?
Former star of the ITV show, Linzi Peel, revealed yesterday that although perma-tanned Amy is regularly featured working in an Essex beauty salon, the whole thing is set up and the business doesn’t exist.
We were also completely un-shocked to learn that the often scenes in the supposed reality TV series are filmed up to ten times,...

The Only Way Is Essex star Linzi Peel has claimed that the show is fake. Peel told the News of the World that her girlband Lola, which also included Mark Wright's sister Jessica, had to pretend to have a record deal with Universal. She also claimed that extras are hired to play the part of locals. "Viewers have no idea how fabricated it is," she said. "Most of it is staged, lines are rehearsed, some stars are genuine but not many. Scenes are stopped because someone hasn't shown 'enough emotion' to make the cut, so they end up having to do it again and again. "The producers ask us to be realistic - but then make us do up to ten takes. When they get sick of us trying to be natural they prompt us in what to say. Words are put into mouths. Everybody (more)...

Linzi Peel has claimed that Lauren Goodger doesn’t want to appear on The Only Way Is Essex.
The singer, who starred in the first series of the hit ITV2 show, was talking to The News Of The World about her pal, who recently became engaged to her on/off boyfriend Mark Wright and claimed that she isn’t quite as sensible as she appears on screen.
She said:
“Lauren doesn’t really want to be in the show.
“It’s really sad, she confided in me about it.
“She was dragged into it because of Mark and now she’s stuck with it. She’d prefer a normal life again away from the cameras.
On Mark and Lauren’s engagement she added:
“Their engagement is real, but she’s not as sensible as people think. “She has a wild side she keeps from the cameras.

It has to be the least shocking exposé of the year, but tonight The News Of The World has revealed that The Only Way Is Essex is actually faked….next they’ll be telling me that Eastenders isn’t based on real life either!
The second series of the show, best known as Towie, recently premièred on ITV2 and despite the badly delivered lines and admittedly wooden but still very obvious acting, producers have tried to convince people that it really is a prime example of reality TV.
However, star of the series Linzi Peel has blown it’s cover and told The News Of The World, that the whole thing is staged and rehearsed and scenes are often filmed up to ten times, to make sure the participants are displaying the right level of emotion.

The Only Way Is Essex girlband Lola have been dropped by their management team. The reality show group, who consist of Jess, Amba, Lauren and Linzi, have been dumped by manager Julian Bennett after he branded the girls "bitches". "They're a bunch of bitches," he told The Sun. "They got too big for their boots on that show, so I had to end it." The (more)...
