Fullscreen will shutter its eponymous subscription video service, CEO George Strompolos wrote in an email to staffers yesterday afternoon, in order to more actively invest in its creator network, brand-building, and Rooster Teeth divisions. As a result, the company is letting go of roughly 25 employees, a spokesperson said.
Strompolos -- who founded Fullscreen in 2011 -- called the decision tough, and said that he’s “extremely proud” of the service, which launched in April 2016 and has subsequently served as a launchpad for shows like Jack And Dean Of All Trades; Bret Easton Ellis’ directorial debut, The Deleted (pictured above); Brandon Rogers’ Magic Funhouse; video podcasts by Tyler Oakley and Grace Helbig; and, most recently, the Hazel Hayes thriller PrankMe.

Brandon Rogers is ready to give viewers another look at a demented kids show. Rogers, a YouTube star whose HotBananaStud channel has more than three million subscribers, is ready to unleash the second season of Magic Funhouse, which will premiere on the Fullscreen streaming service on August 24.
Magic Funhouse stars Rogers -- who also serves as the show's director and writer -- as Arlo, the over-the-top host of a public access children's TV program. Arlo's loud, colorful outfits match his language, and the activities he engages in on the set of his show are often criminal. Nonetheless, he's back for more, as a preview clip posted to the Fullscreen YouTube channel lets us know:
The first season of Magic Funhouse, co-produced by the Turner-owned studio Super Deluxe, arrived last year and ended up becoming one of the biggest hits within Fullscreen's original programming lineup. Rogers' deliberately excessive performance allowed Arlo...

An upstart neophyte in the online video industry has shared a look at one of its most notable web series so far. Blackpills, a startup that has caught our attention by picking up a number of head-turning shows, has released a teaser for third season of Making A Scene, the program devised by actor James Franco.
In each episode of Making A Scene, Franco and a guest collaborator mash up two disparate pieces of pop culture to create a bizarre hybrid. The combination featured heavily in the teaser, for example, is “Anaconda Scissorhands,” a pairing of Nicki Minaj and Tim Burton.
Making A Scene began in 2014 as one of the most notable original series from AOL, and a second season followed a year after that. As AOL’s original programming priorities shifted, Blackpills rushed in to scoop up the third season of Making A Scene in a deal announced this past January.

Last night, I had a bunch of fellow Idols over for the show. My girl, Jordin Sparks made her way over, Kim Caldwell, Brandon Rogers, Didi Benami, Todrick Hall, Antonella Barba, Paul Kim, Alex Lambert and Michael Johns. We all had a blast watching the show. We were loud, fighting over which performances we liked (most of the time it wasn't a fight, as we all agreed). It was awesome!
Some past Idols from earlier this season came out and rocked a group number at the top of the show. Seeing Pia for just one glimpse made me happy. She should be out in front rocking it. America really got it wrong with that girl.
