Satc’s Kangaroo Island ‘Let Yourself Go’ ad by Kwp!
The South Australian Tourism Commission has officially put its advertising contract out to tender kicking off a battle for the state’s most prized account.
The tender puts incumbent Kwp! Advertising on alert, although the Adelaide agency has held on to the account for the last decade.
In September, Kwp! announced that its contract with Satc had been extended for another year until 30 June 2013, but the agency must now defend the account in a statutory review.
The tender, details for which are on government website tenders.sa.gov.au, invites agencies to “assist the Satc in communicating with our target markets and attracting more visitors to South Australia, principally in the Australian market (intrastate and interstate).”
Interested agencies are being directed to Satc’s procurement department.

Don't tweet and drive
Clemenger Bbdo Adelaide is behind a campaign to stop South Australians from using their mobile phones while driving.
The campaign, for the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia, highlights the dangers of texting, calling or tweeting while behind the wheel.
Clems Adelaide has held the Mac business for five years, and this campaign follows a series of ads that have tackled speeding, drink and drug driving and low level speeding, known as creeping.
The agency’s boss Kim Boehm told Mumbrella: “While this is not the first time we’ve tackled mobile phone distractions for Mac, there’s no doubt that this is an area of growing concern in road safety. What we have tried to do with this campaign is demonstrate the distraction that the mobile phone creates in an interesting way – and highlight the dangers of this.”

Clemenger Bbdo Adelaide has replaced outgoing creatives Greg Knagge and Geoff Robertson with former Colenso Bbdo creative Karl Fleet to run its creative department as Ecd.
Fleet joins from The Campaign Palace Sydney after 10 months with the agency. He joined The Palace from Colenso Bbdo Auckland where he was deputy creative director in July 2011.
James McGrath, national creative director at Clemenger Bbdo, told Mumbrella: “It’s been a long search to find the right person. But we think he’s the perfect fit because of his Colenso experience. Adelaide has the same dynamic as New Zealand. How to do more with less.”
Fleet’s career includes stints at Publicis Mojo Auckland. His awards tally includes eight Cannes Lions, 14 Pencils at Award, Gold at One Show, multi in books in D&Ad and five Gold Effies in New Zealand.
Clems Adelaide MD Kim Boehm added: “When we started our search for a new creative director,...
