Grammys In Memoriam 2024: Fantasia, Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder & More Touching Performances (Video)
Stevie Wonder opened the In Memoriam segment of the 66th Grammy Awards, giving tribute to Tony Bennett before performing alongside a recording of the man and showing those who we lost last year. Names like Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Buffett, and others appeared on the screen before Annie Lennox took the stage for a secondary performance. More names, such as Gary Rossington and Sinead O’Connor, appeared before Lennox called for peace around the world. After that, the carousel of names on faces began to cycle through, with names like Clarence Avant appearing. Lenny Kravitz then came to honor the pioneer as a music executive and the “Black Godfather” of entertainment. Another performance began, this time featuring Jon Batiste with a rendition of “Lean on Me.” DJ Mark and Gangsta Boo from Three 6 Mafia and Magoo were also mentioned. On the last night of Rolling Loud Miami, a coalition of hip-hop's latest and greatest female rappers paid homage to the Queen. Not Queen Bey. Or Lil' Kim. But Trina. When the DJ dropped "Look Back at Me," a classic song from "Still Da Baddest," all of today's hip-hop queens were feeling it: Latto, TiaCorine, FloMilli, KaMillion, Kari Faux, Maiya the Don.
For those born and raised in the Southern United States, Trina was among the first wave of rappers to represent not only for the South but for women overall, and her impact is felt everywhere - from the rap game to modern television. Three years after André 3000 and Big Boi of Outkast said "The South got something to say" at the 1995 Source Awards, a swift and fierce rebuke of the bicoastal elites who thought the South should have no say in hip-hop, Trina made her debut on "Nann N***a,...

Since hip-hop's inception, the culture has been a male-dominated space. Women have had to fight for their right to exist alongside their male peers, exercise autonomy over their bodies, and rap without restrictions. It's no secret that the culture of hip-hop is inherently fueled by misogyny and patriarchy; female rappers have been ostracized, while their male counterparts stand to gain. But in recent years, an influx of women rappers have emerged, ushering in a resurgence of sexually explicit lyrics that have jolted mainstream music, social media, and even politics. Yes, women in music have always talked about their sexual prowess; women rappers are simply continuing a long and strong tradition of Black women loudly reclaiming their own sexuality, most notably under the umbrella of "pussy rap."

When GloRilla arrives at a Hollywood bowling alley, she’s clearly off the clock, cozy and happy to be among familiar faces. No cameras, no fans — just her team, the two friends she came with, and a handful of security to ensure it stays that way. She’s relieved, at least in this moment, that no one is coming over to speak to her. In two days, it will be exactly one year since the release of her breakout single, “F.N.F. Like all award shows, the 2023 Grammys weren't without a few hiccups this year, even with 91 categories' worth of honors for music's best artists. Held live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 5, the ceremony awarded trophies to big names like Beyoncé, Harry Styles, Adele, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar, as well as first-timers like Viola Davis (now an Egot winner), Kim Petras, and Samara Joy. However, some of the (not-so-shocking) snubs were the talk of the night.
Most notably, Styles's album of the year win over nominees like Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, and Lamar didn't blow over well with fans who thought he didn't deserve the award. On Twitter, one user wrote, "You must be nuts trying to justify Harry styles winning Aoty over Beyoncé/Adele/Bad Bunny/Lizzo in this current state of music," while another tweeted, "Harry styles said 'this doesn't happen to people like...

ABC News’ Dax Tejera and his wife, Veronica, are being accused of leaving their kids alone in the hours leading up to Dax’s fatal heart attack last month.
In a statement released by Veronica Monday, the 33-year-old mother-of-two, who is facing criminal charges, said she made a “poor decision,” by leaving their 2-year-old and 5-month-old daughters alone on the evening of Dec. 23.
“When Dax collapsed on December 23rd, I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital. I asked both a close friend and my parents to rush to my children’s hotel room to attend to them as I monitored them by camera. The hotel would not allow my friend in and instead called the NYPD,” Veronica said in the statement.

Relationships are a mixture of moments of bliss, happiness, tears, and fights. Sometimes couples go all the way, and other times they end in divorce. What happens when divorce looms? Where do the couples turn to?
“Marriage Boot Camp” is one of the places couples turn to for help. WeTV calls it “the most extreme relationship therapy boot camp,” and you better believe it. The show brings together couples having troubles in their relationship — under the same roof — and makes them go through some exercises with help and guidance from in-house experts, Judge Lynn Toler, Dr. Ish Major, and Dr. Venus Nicolino. In the end, some of these relationships are salvageable, and others are not.
The reality TV show, which recently concluded its 19th season, is quite popular among Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers and ranks 481 among the most popular contemporary TV shows, according to a rating by YouGovAmerica.

Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition has featured some shocking moments in its first few weeks on the air.
Thursday's new episode, airing at 9 pm on We tv, finds the couples speaking about some of their biggest blow-ups.
K. Michelle and Kastan have been on the show to work on their marriage, but it sounds like their arguments used to reach some worrying heights.
They avoid arguing now, and that's something they need to work on, according to the in-house therapist.
K. Michelle worries that arguing will make them have the intense fights they once had.
This piques the interest of the therapist, who wonders what their biggest fight was.
The pair reenacted a fight in which K. Michelle checked Kastan's phone, wanting to know who the messages were from.
It got ugly, with K. Michelle chasing Kastan with a butcher knife.
Like we said, ugly.
It makes sense they want to avoid fighting.

Tensions are rising on Thursday's new episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition.
We TV shared an exclusive clip with TV Fanatic, and it looks like K. Michelle and Lyrica are back up to their old tricks.
In one of the most shocking scenes of the season, the pair get into it over the past, and, damn, it's a lot.
The series has put four hip hop couples in the house to work on their relationships, but the tension between Lyrica and K. Michelle reaches a fever pitch during a task.
There are insults, water bottles thrown, and people stepping in to stop the two women's epic argument.
At one point, K. Michelle says her rival has never had a song chart.
Make of that what you will.
It's a shocking scene, but it's also perfect to whet your appetite for the coming events.

Keeping a relationship in a good state requires communication.
We tv provided TV Fanatic with an exclusive look at the next episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition, airing Thursday, April 21 at 9 pm Et/Pt.
The clip finds Gangsta Boo (Three 6 Mafia) and her lover, Emmet, sitting down with Dr. Ish to speak about the lack of communication between the pair.
It shows the couples being vulnerable with one another, something that Dr. Ish says is the key to working through issues.
Dr. Ish also says that the pair look to one another for the go-ahead to answer questions, which is not a sign of a healthy relationship.
The beauty of Marriage Boot Camp is that couples learn to work through issues in the marriage to allow them to flourish when they leave the compound.
Elsewhere in the episode, "the couples must learn to fight fair, but when Lyrica...

The late, great Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. spent his entire rap career campaigning to be the King of Memphis, through his soul-stirring music and a selfless generosity to his community that felt as large as the signature diamond-encrusted Paper Route Empire dolphin that stayed around his neck. On a warm and somber day, Dec. 16 — nearly a month after his life was tragically cut short — Young Dolph’s life was celebrated in royal fashion at Memphis’ FedEx Forum, in a building full of family, peers, friends, and supporters from all across Tennessee.
