Victoria Arlen has been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.
On the ninth week of the reality dance competition, which was also the semifinals, the Espn features reporter and former Paralympic swimmer, 23, was sent home from season 25 of the ABC series on Monday night just one week shy of competing for the Mirrorball Trophy.
For her final two dances of the competition, Arlen first performed a Waltz to “To Build a Home” (feat. Patrick Watson) by Cinematic Orchestra with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy — they earned a 27/30 — before delivering a recreation of season 17 winners Derek Hough and Amber Riley’s Charleston to “Bang Bang” by will.

Festival resurges as launch pad for awards contenders while sales agents are prepared for healthy market
Those up in arms over Hollywood’s limited roles for women and minorities should be excited for the diversity of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off Thursday with no shortage of films that address the broad range of human experience, while renewing the festival as a key launch platform for awards season hopefuls.

As the year winds to a close, Soundtracking looks back at the ten best moments, songs and trends that made 2014 a great year for music on screen.
10. Guardians of the Galaxy
It’s the only way to kick off this list. If the 21st Century truly believed in cassettes, most copies of this soundtrack would be worn out by now. The first ever back catalogue-only soundtrack to hit Number One on the Billboard charts, Awesome Mix Vol. 1 was a masterpiece in Am Radio curation. But you already knew that. Cue the Star-Lord strut:
9. The F Word
Michael Dowse’s rom-com wins the Canadiana Award for 2014 thanks in large part to an original score by New Pornographers founder A.C. Newman and a dappling of Patrick Watson throughout the film. Ironically, the most memorable track from the film comes courtesy of southern duo The Parting Gifts.

It’s a film starring Sundance Film Fest creator Robert Redford and another film starring Sundance mainstay James Franco that are the latest and last items to officially pad the 2015 edition. Ken Kwapis’ A Walk in the Woods (surely to be discussed as a companion piece to Gus Van Sant’s heavy Cannes contender The Sea of Trees) and Rupert Goold’s directorial debut, True Story – a story that is stranger than fiction close out the Premieres selections. Also announced we find items for New Frontier, Sundance Kids and the From the Collection items. And while the line-up is complete, the actual final piece to the puzzle might actually be a secret screening or two. This year I wager on Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups playing as a non official showing. Here’s the press release.

Arcade Fire and Celine Dion are joining forces.
No, it's not a masterplan to destroy hipster minds everywhere. Rather, the pair will be part of a good cause -- a benefit concert to support the family of Denis Blanchette, a lighting technician who was shot and killed at a victory party earlier this month when the separatist Parti Québécois won the provincial election in Quebec.
Blanchette was shot when Richard Henry Bain opened fire during Quebec's premier-designate Pauline Marois' speech. Bain has been charged with murder.
Where the artists come in is the Denis Blanchette Benefit Concert, being held October 1 at Metropolis in Montreal, Quebec. The funds raised will go towards providing for Blanchette's young daughter as well as co-worker Dave Courage, who was also shot, but survived.

Who Is the Director? Aj Korkidakis is undoubtedly a product of the digital age – so much so that he rejects the title filmmaker in favour of the more contemporary “digital media artist”. Though not the catchiest title, it’s the only one that does justice to the variety of media he finds himself working in: Aj works professionally in film, video, motion graphics, animation, photography and design.
Ever since graduating from Concordia University with a degree in Communications in 2010, he has jumped head first into the Montreal media scene, refusing to pass up any opportunity to collaborate with others and learn new things.
