The X Factor has helped launch the career of dozens of pop acts over the last decade. It has also given us Chico Time. You win some, you lose some.
Here is our definitive ranking of the 15 most ludicrous acts to ever grace Saturday nights on ITV.
15. Rylan
Rylan was already a regular on the reality TV circuit before The X Factor (he was a runner-up in the Sky Living monstrosity Signed By Katie Price), and he was a little bit more knowing and calculated than genuinely bonkers.
However, even if those floods of tears at Nicole Scherzinger's Judges' Houses were staged, they were staged brilliantly. The perfect I'm-mad-me contestant after a decade of near misses.
14. 2 Shoes
Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira were harmless and fairly innocuous as a pop duo. They spoke only in Essex slang ("Roll!") and insisted on calling each other "shoe", but the most ludicrous...

Nicolo Festa has revealed details of his upcoming showcase gig.
The quirky singer was the first act to be voted off last year’s X Factor series, after Dannii Minogue asked him to sing, what turned out to be a pretty bad rendition of Lady GaGa’s ‘Bad Romance.
He has been working on making original music ever since and will perform it for the first time in The Workshop, Hoxton this Sunday night.
Speaking to Digital Spy he said: “Contrary to what I might tweet, I’m actually still singing and working very hard.”
“I’ve been in the studio with the folk from Aztec Records and am working on some songs that really define me and my music style. I love the rock and roll from the 70′s; Linda Ronstadt, Queen, Warren Zevon and those types of songs, but also funkier stuff like Talking Heads, Human League, Michael Jackson...

Nicolo Festa has blasted the X Factor charity single 'Heroes', describing it as "ignominious". The Italian-born singer, who was the first act to be voted out of this year's live shows, was involved in the recording of the track and the debut performance of the David Bowie cover on Sunday's results show. However, acting as the guest singles reviewer for Viceland.com, Festa mocked the song, joking that David Bowie would "chop his balls off" if he ever heard it. "The X Factor charity single is out. Louis Walsh has claimed that if he could bring back one act on this year's X Factor it would be Nicolo Festa. Walsh said that the Italian-born singer, who was the first act knocked out of the live shows, was unlucky on the ITV1 show. "I think Nicolo got a real hard time," Walsh told The Xtra Factor. The X Factor is certainly a more boring show without Italian stallion Nicolo Festa.
The 21 year old was eliminated from the ITV series after his performance on the first live show, however he was invited back to record this year’s charity single, David Bowie’s ‘Heroes.’
We would have expected Nicolo to show a bit of gratitude to Cowell and Co for allowing him to be part of the project, however after Tuesday’s shoot for the single’s video he took to Twitter and blasted:
“Sorry I didn’t tweet yesterday, I was at the X Factor video shoot from 7am till midnight. Done enough charity for this life and my next one.”
He added:
“I don’t sing on the video. I just stupidly open my mouth…Good riddance! I was lucky enough for having escaped a lawsuit at bootcamp.”

The X Factor hopefuls have reportedly begged producers not to put them in the 'cursed' performance slot next to Mary Byrne. The Daily Star claims that the remaining acts are worried after seeing Treyc Cohen face the judges in the sing-off last week, having performed in the same part of the show as Byrne. On the first week, Nicolo Festa and Katie Waissel sang in part six with the 50-year-old. Waissel was saved in the sing-off while Festa exited the competition. Week two saw the former Tesco worker and Belle Amie perform in part eight - with the girl group then facing the judges' vote in the results show. According to the paper, Byrne has not been out of the top two with the public vote and was 'the (more)...

Nicolo Festa has laughed off claims that he is feeling suicidal after being eliminated from The X Factor.
The 21 year old student from Treviso, Italy became the show’s first failure of 2010 at the weekend, as he was voted off and sent home just before boyband Fyd.
The Sun reported yesterday that bosses were worried about Nicolo, after he told Dannii Minogue that he would “kill himself” if he was sent home.
A source said: “It freaked everyone out. They were not sure if he was serious. He took the news badly.”
However Festa dismissed the rumours last night on his Twitter page. He wrote:
!!I didn’t know there really is an article in the sun that says I’m suicidal! No, I would only commit suicide if fanny packs made a comeback.

Nicolo Festa has admitted that X Factor boss Simon Cowell, was ‘annoyed’ when he was voted off the show on Sunday night.
The 21 year old student from Treviso, Italy became the show’s first failure of 2010 at the weekend, as he was voted off and sent home just before boyband Fyd.

He’s very annoyed about it. He said he didn’t expect it at all and that it happens. But he made it clear to me that he believed in me, because I wasn’t exactly the joke act, and he had expectations of me.

Nicolo Festa has said that he blames his exit from The X Factor on the song which he performed on Saturday night. I didn’t love it Nicolo. I think the one thing above all that you need, is to redeem that connection and I didn’t like your eyes covered.
Speaking on This Morning, just before he interviewed Festa, Schofield admitted that he also thought the specs were a mistake. He said:

Nicolo Festa compared himself to Jesus on his Twitter page last night.
The Italian singer was the first contestant to be eliminated from The X Factor this year and after he heard the news, Festa joked:
“Well, Jesus left the scene pretty early too!”
Nicolo also expressed his relief at having complete control over his Twitter account once more, having no doubt been asked by X Factor bosses to tone down his tweets in recent days. He wrote:
“well at least now I can tweet whatever I f*cking want ;P”
But Nicolo admitted that he has been upset by his early elimination. Tweeting this morning, the disappointed singer said:
“I woke up…. With A Twist: I want to throw up”
Do you think Nicolo should have been the first to leave last night? Did you vote to save him? Leave your comments below.

Nicolo Festa has become the first act to be voted off the 2010 series of The X Factor.

Diva Fever make their bid for stardom on tonight’s X factor show.
The singing duo, Joseph and Craig tried out in Manchester for Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and guest judge Nicole Scherzinger earlier this year.
Craig told presenter Dermot O’Leary:

We’ve got our own look and we’ve got our own sound so hopefully we’ll stand out from the average Joe’s who’ll also be auditioning today.”
Diva Fever took to the stage and sing Let It Be by the Beatles.
Judges Comments:
Simon: I honestly thought you guys were going to be more interesting than that.
Craig: Do you want a bit more of a show? How does Proud by Tina Turner sound?...
