Wherever he goes on his royal duties, Prince Charles seems to come face to face with animals. Over the years, the future king has been photographed with all kinds of wildlife, from lizards to lobsters, and that's before all the inevitable encounters with farm animals and pets, like the many pooches he meets at the Sandringham Flower Show. The royal family are known animal-lovers, and Charles is no exception. He's partial to Jack Russell Terriers (Camilla adopted two from Battersea Dogs Home a few years ago), he's a keen horse rider and polo player, and he also has pigs, sheep, and cattle on his organic farm. On his travels around the world, he's encountered penguins, koalas, camels, and one particularly memorable bald eagle. Take a look back at some of Charles's most memorable moments with animals in our gallery. RelatedThese Pictures of the Royal Family in 2017 Are Fit For a...

Princess Diana’s tragic death in a Paris car crash on August 31, 1997 shocked the world. It would become one of the biggest news events of the 20th century – and the only time People has ever featured a photo-only cover with no headline. Here is that cover story in its entirety.
To her ex-husband, Prince Charles – as well as the rest of the world – the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, was an unimaginable shock. “This isn’t how it ends for you, brother.”
Sandor ‘The Hound’ Clegane (Aka the Unkillable Knight) isn’t one to shy away from battle; nor is he known for his brotherly bond with Gregor Clegane/The Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson). Add those two factors together and you have the necessary ingredients for Cleganebowl, a mighty duel between the Clegane Brothers that has been brewing for years.
In fact, many viewers assumed that Game of Thrones‘ season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” would have pit those two titans against one another, particularly after that steely exchange in the Dragon’s Pit, in which The Hound provoked his oversized sibling by rendering him the uglier of the two.
But Cleganebowl remains on the back-burner…for now. Asked about his view on the seemingly inevitable dust-up between the two Cleganes, actor Rory McCann (The Hound) told Den of Geek:
I’ve heard of this Cleganebowl.

But even though there are canines at the center of those stories, they say more about what it means to be human; to invest so much of yourself in a creature that will never speak your name.

From the start, The Secret Life of Pets makes no secret that it is a Toy Story clone, and while it’s mostly entertaining, it never truly breaks past these boundaries. Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney‘s latest animation swings for the fences in terms of giving its characters the ability to go full-on crazy, and if anything, it succeeds in this regard. While there’s rarely a story beat that isn’t expected, there’s just enough humor from its all-star comedy voice cast to enjoy the journey.

From the house of the Minions comes The Secret Life Of Pets. Here's our review...
Since the first Despicable Me movie landed in cinemas back in 2010, Illumination Entertainment – the company behind the films – has enjoyed a staggering level of box office success. Two Despicable Mes, one Minions, one The Lorax and even the live action-animation hybrid Hop have all hit to various degrees. Minions, its 2015 venture, grossed $1.159bn. Only Frozen, in animated movies, has ever done better.
So important is Illumnation’s animated output to Universal Pictures’ slate that, with DreamWorks Animation now also part of the Universal empire, Illumination boss Chris Meladandri is to creatively oversee both firms’ animated output. Not bad, considering Illumination is under a decade old.
Watching The Secret Life Of Pets, the new film from the firm, couldn’t help but ring an alarm bell or two though. For me, it’s...

Now, the magazine has shared even more intel about the types of titular creatures audiences can expect to see onscreen.

A picture-perfect documentary detailing a threat to the idyll of an English eccentric
This affectionate, accessible and elegantly brisk documentary follows loveable English eccentric Jerry “Mungo” Francis, who until recently lived year-round on a beach, a dream many of have probably had at one point or another but lacked the gumption to pursue. Although he effectively existed off the grid, inhabiting a set of makeshift shelters on Folkestone beach that consists of a dilapidated cottage, an old dry-docked boat and some tents, his lifestyle wasn’t entirely without amenities thanks to a jerry-rigged generator, foraged fresh water, and internet access. For company, there’s a lazy Jack Russell bitch who whelps an adorable puppy at one point, some chickens, and many friends and family who drop by to help him out. It would all have been utterly idyllic if National Rail, who claimed they owned the land he was living on,...

Holiday specials date back to the earliest days of network television, when Jackie Gleason donned Santa garb on The Honeymooners and Desi Arnaz pumped up traditional carols with Cuban conga beats on I Love Lucy. Each decade since then has generated examples of “very special” episodes and one-off variety hours that, in hindsight, perfectly, and often hilariously, embody their era.
Think of A Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the ’60s; The Star Wars Holiday Special and The Donny and Marie Christmas Show in the ’70s; and Christmas Comes to Pac-Land and ’Tis the Season to Be Smurfy in the ’80s. The ’90s, of course, kept the tradition going with its own unmistakable (multiply pierced) earmarks. The decade of alterna-culture, outrageous cartoon debuts that weren’t just for kids, and the early Internet also begat its share of unmistakably of-its-moment December broadcast fare.

A Jack Russell terrier that went missing from its Pennsylvania home has turned up at an animal shelter nearly 3,000 miles away. A good Samaritan this month spotted the 7-year-old dog named Gidget wandering in the Portland suburb of Tualatin, and brought her to the Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter, said Deborah Wood, manager of Washington County Animal Services. Wood said Wednesday that a microchip implanted in Gidget revealed that the owner lived near Philadelphia. Contacted by the shelter, the owner said her dog has been missing since April 22, two days after Easter. It's a mystery how the dog arrived in Oregon.
